I made a reservation here for 6 days and the morning before I was to check in, my grandfather died and I needed to cancel the reservation. I explained the situation to the hotel manager and told her I was happy to pay the fee for the first night, but would like a refund at least for the rest of my 6 day stay. The hotel manager refused to approve any sort of refund due to this situation. Beware of booking a stay here because they have poor company values and clearly will take advantage of any opportunity to screw you over if it means they get to pocket a couple extra bucks. read more

When you step into the office to register, you are hit with a sick sweet smell of cleaning agents. If that doesn't get you as soon as you go into your room, you are engulfed in the same sticky sweet smell that management says our regular cleaning supplies if you are sensitive to odors or smells this absolutely is not the place for you we made reservations there because it's only one of three hotels in Florence that accepts dogs. Both of my dogs were sneezing at the chemicals. We couldn't stay and because we registered through a third-party reservation desk there was no refund for our two minute stay in the room. read more

The TV in our room didn't work (no big deal). The noise from the highway made it hard to sleep. But the "biggy" was ..... The room wasn't too bad; my husband and I were pleasantly surprised and you could tell they were making an effort to make the rooms pleasant... but the evening and morning we stayed here, I wasn't able to get hot water from either the sink or the tub. It never heated up beyond lukewarm. In the morning I was trying to take my shower and I called the office TWICE around 9am to ask about the hot water. No answer, and no one called me back with helpful information. Without knowing what was going on with the water, I finally had to take a COLD "washrag bath" in the COLD bathroom, which was miserable, made me furious, and caused a fibromyalgia flare-up and other muscle problems later in the day. I probably wouldn't be so upset if this hotel was less expensive, but it was supposed to be a decent hotel and I expected hot water. This hotel needs to get it's act together. If they can't be bothered to deliver basic expected things like hot water in a timely manner, what other problems will YOU have? Avoid this place. read more

We booked our room over a month ago. Were to be in town for a memorial. The night before we were supposed to go, we get a call from the owner or manager saying " we STILL dont have any hot water in all but a few rooms and those rooms are already taken, so sorry" STILL don't have hot water??? We were never told that upon calling direcly for reservations. The lady acted like everything was fine. Never thought to ask if hot water was included in the room!! She offered a 25% discount if we would stay w/o hot water!! Are you kidding me!! Should be free. Now we are scrambling to find a place to stay and it is spring break! I mean.... I think the bill was $109 for the night. That doesn't buy you much these days. Check-in was smooth, mattress maybe a little older but clean (yes, I inspected for bed bugs!) ... bathroom clean. So nice to have my bike parked four feet from the door to my room.... not that my neighbor was thinking the same thing when I started it at 5:30 in the morning. Cute little set up with comfy chair on the porch so you can hang out. There may have been highway 101 noise but my room was as close as any other room to the road (which is probably 75 to 100 feet away) and I was not aware of ANY noise. No safe in room, crappy coffee maker... but, again, you are not staying at a Hilton or even a Holiday Inn Express. I get pretty picky about how clean the carpet is (man, there are hotels/motels that you would NO WAY walk barefoot on the carpet!) and who was the last person to sneeze (or whatever) on the TV remote control.. and this place was really fine... and really inexpensive. read more

It was definitely overpriced for what you were given. Which I guess is to be expected since it is on the coast. It is a few blocks from the ocean, but it is right on highway 101. Check in was smooth and the front desk personnel was great to deal with. But $150 for the room was a bit too much given the fact that between the traffic noises and the light right outside the back window flashing on and off ALL NIGHT, we did not get much sleep. We woke up by 5:30am and just left. We called to the front desk to tell them about the light and see if there was any way they could give us a little bit of a discount, but we never received a call back. We love Florence, and the Oregon coast; but we probably won't be back to this motel. read more

My wife and I visited the Ocean Breeze Motel the night of July 3rd. The owners were very nice and the motel was well taken care of and clean. The room was a little on the small side, and it was odd that the bathroom was almost half the entire room, which seemed a little like wasted space. While the room did provide a microwave and refrigerator, it did not have AC which was disappointing in July (you can open a small window). It may have been due to the July 4th weekend, but the prices seemed a little steep considering what we got. They do not provide breakfast, if that's a deal breaker for you. Ocean Breeze is clean, comfortable and simple. If you're looking for a place to pull off and spend a night, it will do the job, but we didn't feel like it was worth the price. read more

Pleasantly surprised. It was clean room with everything we needed for a one night stay. For less than $80/night, I have to be honest-we just hoped for the best. We were traveling the Oregon coast and needed a room for the night. We have done this once before 2 years ago and had no problems booking rooms the day of or the day before as we traveled. A nice woman at another hotel that was sold out recommended Ocean Breeze to my husband and we are very glad she did. For the price you can't go wrong. Very friendly, clean, reasonable, great location (on highway 101). We did not hear much highway noise!!! Big plus! We had a special booking need and was easily accommodated. I recommended my parents stop here if ever in the area. I bet their doggies would love it. Our kiddo especially enjoyed the channel she could watch about kittens and dogs- more cable channels than other types of motels. I wanted to use their fire pit, but we were so tired and just passing through. Instead, kid and mom went to the dog park/play area and walked the loop pretending to be dogs - haha. This older motel had the opportunity of being really nice but our room had an overwhelming smell of room freshener. Bathroom floor was sticky and the microwave started beeping in the middle of the night and we unplugged it which was harder to do than it sounds. Just overall rather dated. On a road trip with my brother, the 2 separate bedrooms in room 7 were perfect! The pretty property is kept in beautiful and pristine condition. Rooms were clean and very pleasant. Perfect for what it is: a '50s Motor Court which has been well maintained and upgraded. The rooms are typical for the period, on the small side but furnished with basic amenities: mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, Wi-Fi and decent sized flat screen TV with cable. Bathrooms are a decent size with modern shower/bath stalls with great water pressure and temperature. All fixtures are modern. Most rooms have only Queen sized beds. Very friendly and helpful managers, Kevin and Jaquie. Extremely dog friendly. They provide a sheet to cover the furniture your dog will be on and small hand towels for cleaning dirty paws. There is also a fenced in area for the dogs to do their business. Very we'll kept up grounds with picnic tables, a horse shoe pit and fire pit. As in many coastal community motels there is no A/C. It is right on Rte 101, two miles south of Florence so there is a fair amount of road noise which is minimal with the dual pane widows closed. Noise from adjoining units is also minimal. I have no reservations about recommending this place and will gladly stay here again when we revisit Florence. read more

This is a great spot to stop on the Oregon Coast! Perfectly positioned between the dunes, the beach and the forest. Absolutely the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed! My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel a few weeks ago and are looking forward to our next trip up the Oregon Coast. The staff is friendly and takes great pride in their facility as it is their family business and their home is on site. They are ready and able to help with any request and knowledgeable about the area. We had a great time at the hotel as well as the surrounding hiking attractions, waterfalls, beaches, dunes and the great little town restaurants. This motel was a pleasant surprise! My boyfriend and I came to Florence on a whim and it happened to be the Wine and Jazz Festival weekend. At 10:30pm, we decided to stay for the night. We stopped by a couple hotels but they were booked. We tried to call some others but they didn't answer. We passed this place and it was lit up and cozy-looking so we stopped. A very friendly woman helped us. She was out of single bed rooms but charged us the single bed room price for a 2 bedroom. Our room was really cute!! It's simple and not fancy or updated liked a large hotel chain (I travel a lot for work and typically stay at large hotel chains)but it was very clean, kept up well, and is cozy. Right away, I loved the look and location of this motel as it is conveniently located on highway 101. The lady that owns the motel was so nice and had such a great vibe! We are currently staying in a family suite which has 2 queen beds with separate rooms. The room is cozy and the decor is very nice. The staff is friendly and make you feel right at home. They have a fire pit and benches in a nice grassy area, and the parking lot is well lit. I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about this motel and the staff! I would highly recommend this motel to anyone! read more

Called to book a room but wanted to ask how recently the rooms were renovated because I saw reviews both stating "newly renovated" and "furniture is beat and carpets are completely stained". The lady that answered (Satma?!?) not only refused to answer but was combative and rude. Eventually she asked "can't you see the pictures on the site". Sure I can but maybe those were taken 7 years ago before anyone had stayed in the rooms. Which brought me to my next point.... you're pet friendly but some of these rooms are listed as no pets so I want to make sure I get a pet free room, because again I saw a review that said "room smelled like wet dog". She asked which room I was looking at and said "that's pet free", ya it says that on the site but as soon as you add the room it gives you an option to pay a pet fee. Which is strange too because it says the fee is $10 but adding it adds $15. So.... a pet free room becomes a pet friendly room for an additional $15! Totally shady and absolutely dishonest!!!! Very clean room. You can tell the owner pays attention to details and has pride in the offer. Some motels I stayed during the Oregon trip did whatever minimum to cut costs. Ocean Breeze is the opposite. Although it does not offer breakfast (at least not yet) like many others, I would still come back and stay. Keep up the good work. I think Expedia marks it as 2-star or something. The amenities may be a standard 2-star. But the care, cleanliness, and friendly service from the owner (the couple) deserve a 5-star rating. read more

I'll give them 4 stars because the place is very clean and the price is right. There were also cute raccoons running about in the morning. Looked like they lived under the laundry area. But...the pillows felt like cardboard boxes, if you can imagine sleeping on those, and there was no business center to print up boarding passes. The lady at the desk reluctantly agreed to print mine, but most places have a computer available for customers. Also, there was an unattended dog tied to a tree that was barking for several hours. Luckily for us, (and the dog) the owner put him inside at night! I would stay here again because of the convenient location to town and highway. read more

I was coming to the coast to visit some friends and after reading several reviews I decided to give this place a try. Wow were we surprised to find it even better than the reviews!!! The rooms were spotless and spacious, everything worked and was stocked with everything we needed. Besides the rooms the entire place is cozy and inviting right down to the fire pit outside!! Now for the staff... I was completely floored when I walked in to the office and checked in and the beautiful lady behind the counter looked at me in shock and said "I know you" and ran over to greet me with a huge hug. My friend Pamela is now the manager, so there was nothing sweeter as being welcomed with big hugs from her and Aaron!! These folks have gone the extra mile to make certain that not just my stay but everyone feels welcomed and appreciated. We can't thank you enough for the amazing accommodations!! Glad we found this place. Owners are super nice and will give you hints on what to do around Florence. Before we arrived they called us in advance to let us know there was a water leak in the room I booked online but they could still accommodate us with a discount since it was a different room. When we got there they had everything fixed and our original room was ready for the new lower price! Great customer service. they have wifi and direct TV so if you spend anytime in your room you are covered. I would definately stay here again! Also, we only stayed in Florence for one full day (2 nights at the hotel) so we didn't use the fire pit and picnic area but they looked very nicely kept up. Charming place! read more

Checked in in the evening and had trouble hooking up to the wi-fi so I went to this office and there was nobody around, so I rang the bell several times and had no response. I then tried to call the number that was posted outside the office twice and received a recording, I left a message and received no response back. Got up in the morning and NO WATER! Went ahead and got ready without any water. I took the room key back to the office and the desk clerk said that they were changing a filter and they thought they would have it fixed before anybody needed water. This was at 8:30 in the morning. I was basically called a liar on another review site and told that I hadn't rang the bell the night before or tried to call them. (Good thing it wasn't a real emergency, as nobody was around). They also informed me that I was the only one to complain about the water, and that I must have left too early. Even though it was 8:30 in the morning. I just have to say that I was not the only one to complain about the water, as I saw someone on another site complain also. I don't plan on being in the area again, but if I were, I would NEVER stay here again after how they responded to me. read more
