The week we were there we enjoyed the new playground, a water trampoline, a hot tub, movie night and s'mores night!

Water and electricity at each site is functional. However the sites are close together and those along the river are all in parking lot style except for view of river. Bonus? Campground sits next to old town so walking around for shopping or meals is flat and easy access. Heceta lighthouse and beach and Seal cove are all nearby and worth a visit.

We were parked in the Fred Meyer parking lot when an employee came out and told us that the police would come tell us to move soon. After calling various inns and RV parks around town, we eventually just decided to try this place since we felt like we were out of options. The Camp Host Gavin met its outside around midnight and was not only very helpful but also extremely kind. He got us set up in a spot and we quickly went to sleep. The next morning, we met some of the staff and fellow campers who were equally as friendly. We even had a few people offer to help us dump our RV for the first time. It was generally a great environment and I wish we had spent more time there. There are a few RV spots right on the water that are probably the most sought after but this place is located right in town on the river. I highly recommend staying her

Nope. Find another place in the area. The worst thing about this place is the customer service. We…read morereceived an email the day before with a door code that didn't exist. We emailed. No response. We called. Their phone number does not work. We were counting on checking in at the office, as had been described. It's CLOSED. We spent a half hour certain that we had been scammed, until we awkwardly had to knock on doors of other, non-affiliated neighbors, found one who mentioned they might be in one of the cabins... Had to knock on some more doors, when we found them they knocked right back (weird) and then acted very annoyed that we needed so much as a door code. Half hour past checkin. i do not recommend this place at all, while the lakefront is pretty the rest of it is absolutely not. Broken doors, poor decor, which I would have been fine with, but it was very overpriced for what you get especially after a very stressful and unpleasant beginning to our stay. Be careful if you stay here, you'll get an email saying "Your door code is ." You need to figure out a way to get in touch before your journey - if you do decide to go, know that their phones don't work and they don't respond to emails; for now I guess they are staying in cabin 9. Also note that their docks are decrepit and dangerous. This is no "RESORT." Bring your own toilet paper too. We were provided with less than half a roll for a couple of days but the experience with the hosts was so unpleasant that instead of asking, we preferred to just go out and buy our own.

The place had been pretty neglected for many years before the new owners bought the place. I get that it takes a lot of money to rehab a gem like this place was when owners took pride in it. The new owners are doing a lot of work on the cabins as I saw when me and my two friends arrived. I think this place will be really nice when the construction is done. The boat we rented was pretty rough looking. An aluminum hull boat which can seat 4 adults. Old outboard motor that ran like a champ all day but nothing beats having a steering wheel, push button or turn key to start/kill the motor. We couldn't pull the string on the motor to start (we're not as young as we used to be) which meant we had to keep the motor running all afternoon. We will definitely return in the hopes that with more business their boat rental situation will also improve. We had a great time motoring around what is a very nice large lake. The weather was spectacular with not too high winds and lots of sunshine. Brandon (husband/owner) is a really nice guy and appreciated that he came out after a few hours to check on us to make sure we weren't stuck somewhere. He's a born & raised Oregonian and knows a lot about the environment and loves sharing what he knows with others.

I was actually surprised how quiet it was (okay camping in a public campground is never silent but it was pretty moderate noise). The advantage of it being such a large campground too is that they had nice, well-equipped, clean facilities equally spaced out. Showers are free to use, though I didn't while we were there. A cute welcome center in the middle has info, games/books, and ice and firewood to buy and is located right next to a pretty good sized playground for kids. It's also a super dog-friendly place (we brought our 75# boy with us) and everyone there seemed to be mindful of their own dogs with leashes/cleaning up. Honeyman is located close to the heart of Florence and close to lots of recreation activities - dunes, beach, two lakes, etc. We enjoyed a quick walk over to Cleawox Lake each day to play, and rented a paddle boat too! The only downside is that like most Oregon State Park campgrounds you do need to plan quite a bit ahead to reserve your spot online. It's very difficult to get a spot last minute or day of in the busy times (late spring - summer - fall).

Overall it's fine. It's a bit overpriced for what you get. Weekends are loud and there didn't seem…read moreto be anything being done about it. There are bright lights randomly throughout the campground which make for an interesting "camping" vibe. There's probably better, quieter and more secluded places nearby.
