Me and my family stayed at The Landmark for two days. Where do I even begin? The parking is sh*t, The room was cramped, there's no AC unit, only heaters, and there's no place to plug in your phone, other than on the floor. The people next door to us were drunk and noisy, we were awoken by them at 6 in the morning, and we were wearing earplugs! We called the front desk, they didn't answer. A few hours later, we called the number that was on the sheet of paper they gave us, and they told us "if you want to insult us, you could've gone downstairs to the front desk." I've also noticed they have a habit of lying and trying to pull a fast one on people Just stay at a Holiday Inn. It's cheaper, and the staff is actually polite. read more

What can I say - the hotel room was old but extremely clean. The bed was at least 25 years old, soft and lumpy. We were desperate for a quiet hotel room after leaving our campsite early due to all night partying. This was all that was available not on a busy road during the high summer season likely due to the ripoff rate of 164 a night for an old small room. 3 stars because it was better than the campsite yurt. read more

We have been traveling cross country for 2 months, so far. This was the worse place we have stayed in since the beginning of our trip. I chose the room because it stated it would have a riverview. There was no river view, only trees. When I mentioned this, they said that the trees have grown. By the size of the trees, they had not grown since I made my reservation. When I mentioned they might want to change their website, there was no response. They said we could walk to town. We could, if we were mountain climbers. Their driveway to the hotel was a very steep upcline. Not suitable for most people to walk down or climb up. The walls are so thin we could hear our neighbors and I am sure they would not like that we could hear so much. The internet did not work in the whole room. The towels were very cheap. Not very good for drying. I would not recommend this place!! read more

Perched on top of a hill (and relatively secluded) the setting is quaint with nice views. Rooms are clean, and recently remodeled. That's where the good news ends. The wifi was down more than up. Even when the (Spectrum) service was working the Internet speeds were horrendously slow. I participated in a work related zoom based meeting that was a complete disaster due to the constant disconnects. Additonaly, the top plug in EVERY OUTLET in the room was dead making charging our multiple electronic devices less than convenient. Our stay here could have been great. But the horrible internet service (with only 2 wifi radios to cover multiple buildings) and no breakfast "due to covid" makes business travel seem like it was an afterthought. Romantic Evening with my husband for his bday was a great success. I mentioned to the staff of our celebration and they left us treats in the room, so thoughtful! Internet worked well for us and we enjoyed the quiet, sound proof room and close to nearby restaurants location. We did have to start and stop the water filling of the hot tub in our room in order to have a full tub of hot water but that was a minor inconvenience and I would stay here again. It's a small motel and I can highly recommend room #12 which is kinda of on its own. I'd recommended calling ahead and letting them know arrival time and ask for heat to be turned on, our room was cool when we got there and took while to heat up. read more

Delightful place! Charming, helpful and Old School. When I first had to cancel my booking, they were so kind and didn't charge despite Booking.com rules that said they could. The folks working there couldn't have been kinder. The room was quite large and smelled wonderfully of lemon and coffee instead of the more usual cleanser or artificial masking odors. The kitchen has everything I needed, though the do supply good reviews of local restaurants. (Yes, I found the wifi a bit slow but this wasn't a priority for me.) I love the Landmark and have stayed several times. Room #5 is a hidden gem, the perfect combination of privacy, comfort, novelty and romance. The room is a king-bed suite with a separate sitting area with a couch, coffee table, small dining table with two chairs and a flat screen television. There is cable TV and wireless internet. The kitchenette has a fridge and microwave, coffee pot and all the necessary flatware and dishes. The front desk staff gladly provided a bucket of ice and real champagne glasses for us. The real joy of room #5 is the private deck with a large, two-person soaking tub. There is just nothing like sitting in hot water, under the stars, while snow flakes drift past the over hanging branches of the huge Douglas fir trees to help you relax and forget your troubles. We enjoyed the included self-serve breakfast. There was sausage, toast, muesli, instant oatmeal along with coffee, tea, milk and orange juice. If you are staying at the Landmark during cold weather, you may way to call them about an hour before arrival and ask them to turn up the heat in your room. They keep it turned off to conserve energy, and it took over an hour for us to get the room warm after check in. I will definitely be returning. read more

We stayed for 3 nights in suite 10, situated on the 2nd floor, that included a king sized bed and separate living room. There was not much in the way of view, but being an end unit it at least was reasonably quiet. There is a steep driveway leading to the property which is located in easy walking distance to both Rte. 101 and old town. Parking is tight, just 1 space for each unit with none to spare. Room amenities included a desk with chair, table w/2 chairs, couch, flat screen TV w/cable, mini refrigerator, sink, microwave, and coffee pot. We did not visit the guest spa so I cannot comment. The breakfast included in the room rate was disappointing - nothing freshly baked, no fruit and limited cereal selection. We limited out breakfast experience to OJ and coffee. Rates seemed reasonable given the location and amenities so I would not hesitate to recommend the inn to family or friends. read more

For the price ($216 per night), stay was disappointing. I was expecting a wonderful experience because of the reviews on tripadvisor and google...at least a four star experience. NOPE We should have stayed at the Best Western in Florence for the money. Positives: We had a pretty view from upstairs. Linens were clean Room was clean Negatives: Front desk check in was uncomfortable. The clerk was rude to my husband. They insisted on charging for both nights in advance of seeing the room. Now we know why. 1. Furniture needs upgrading. 2. Hot tub was not only filthy but the jets were not working. We asked them to clean it out and they suggested we do it ourselves. When we discovered the jets were not working, we called the front desk and were told a previous guest had run them without water sufficient water so it was broken. They did not offer to fix it. They did not offer compensation. They still charged for a room with a Hot Tub... 3. No coffee in the room, be there was a coffee pot if we wanted to go to a store and buy filters and coffee.... 4. Breakfast was microwaved sausages, greasy and still half frozen. I watched him nuke them and toss into a tiny crock pot Bakery items were toast and bagels. Cheese Regular, no decaf coffee Milk, no half and half or creamer We will not be staying there again and I would not recommend it. read more

The Landmark Inn was great. I booked a room there last minute (the day of) while on my way back down the Oregon Coast to Northern California. The staff was excellent! They were friendly and helpful. I had suite 1 on the ground floor which had a view of the river. This was less of a room but more like a studio apartment. The full kitchen was stocked with dishes and the entire place was very clean. The Inn is also in walking distance old town allowing access to many good restaurants. Parking was simple. I'll definitely return to the Landmark Inn and hope to stay more than one evening. read more

This is a nice quiet place with a very friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable and some have very nice views (although mine was blocked by trees. Go nature!) The only down side is that it's hard to find, being located at the top of a VERY steep hill. Their website says says no trailers and that is why. My little car struggled up the grade. read more

My husband and I were passing through on our honeymoon, looked like a cute little place to stay for the night. Lady at the desk very friendly. We went to our room on the 2 Nd floor which we paid more because it was the last one they had, it was late so we said let's just take it. It was so small, jacuzzi tub was in one corner of the room, so deep it was hard to get in to. It was very loud too!! Small table in the corner with 2 dining room chairs , very crammed. Then, all we heard was the room next to us , the headboard banging on our wall all night long. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep!! Next morning we wanted to just get out, I think I was the only girl at this hotel that night, all guys it seemed like, nothing wrong with that but a little strange for us. Very disappointed for the price this is a bad deal. The website and staff led us to believe we would either have a private balcony or a large soaker tub. I expressed our need of a view and how it was important as I had never been to Florence before. They may have them but even though I told them we were coming for our anniversary we got a small break in the trees (not even close to a view). The free breakfast is cereal not what I expect for breakfast on vacation. We only were given 2 small bath towels even after requesting from the maid and the front desk extras. The last night we didn't even have hand towels. Unless you are just needing a bed (which was average to good) spend the extra 20-40 dollars and rent a condo on the river. read more

The higher elevation of the motel is nice but it sits above Hwy 101 and a chain saw repair place that was in full operation when we arrived. The people at the Landmark were welcoming and friendly. The continental breakfast was fine. It's just an older place that is awkwardly laid out with no dresser to put away clothing and a desk that sits in front of the tv and blocks viewing for anyone else. We'd asked for a quiet room away from stairs and noise. We were put in a downstairs room next to the stairs. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. Next time we'll try another place in Florence. read more

This to me is the best and most reasonable place in Florence to stay! The staff bends over backwards to accomodate you. There are different types of rooms.. some with full kitchens, so the cost of the room depends on what you choose. The views from the top of the hill where the hotel is, is fantastic! Would not recommend this hotel if you are towing anythng.. Really steep driveway with a small turn around. In the mornings they have a better then average continental breakfast. read more

Nice, clean updated and walking distance to Old Town. We were on a budget trip going north up the coast and chose the least expensive room for $69. Was very please to find that it was fairly new and so clean. We did book our hour in the sauna/spa and thoroughly enjoyed out time there. As stated in another review, the spa is barely big enough for two, but nice and relaxing non the less...also very clean. Would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit. read more

Hotel looks great from the outside and the front desk service was very good. Owner is articulate and organized with greeting you and providing information for the area. Everything is great about this hotel, even the morning continental breakfast that included meat. But there is no place to sit with your breakfast. You have to take it back to your room. We used the hot tub and sauna and it was pretty nice. The hot tub is pretty much a big deep bathtub that barely holds two people. The only other downfall is the bed was very uncomfortable. Everything about this hotel is modern and updated except the bed. I tossed and turned feeling the springs in my back. read more

The Inn is located near enough to Old Town to make it very convenient to walk there. It was nice and clean. We stayed in room 5 which has a hot tub just out side the room on a small private deck. The tub is just big enough for two provided you are on good terms:) The view from the room overlooks old town and is a filtered view through the trees but we could still see the Siuslaw river and we were there in July....lots of leaves. The continental breakfast was a bit disappointing, mostly bagels and cereal and juice. We found the room to be quiet unlike some of the others reviewers. But like them we also found the bed to be quite hard. Still all in all I would stay here again. Clean, quiet, conveniently located and reasonably priced, plus the private hot tub is a nice feature. read more

Very Very Steep Entrance drive. Parking is way too tight, even in the handicapped spot (1). Hot tub in room didn't work, we were charged extra for this. Community hot tub was filthy. Brown film and nasty smell. We got a rash after using it that lasted for two days. Staff is arrogant and uncaring, which they get from the owner, Eugene. Food was stale. Walls are thin and you can hear every sound from surrounding rooms. Placed fraudulent charges on our credit card six days after we left. Room was way over-priced. My advice: Check out the better hotels in the area. You'll be glad you did. read more

This is a nice little place. Staff was friendly, and the room was clean. The bed was a bit hard, but you roll those dice with any hotel. We had a problem with the cable box, but the staff called the cable company (this was 10pm) and got it sorted out for us. My wife and I found this place while passing through and we read the good reviews so we figured it was a good bet. The other reviews told us nothing relevant to what we experienced. We were drawn in with the $65 a night price tag but this place is so small that those rooms were apparently not available. The next best rate was $150 but they told me we could have a deal if we didn't use the fancy tub. That brought it down to $110 but we really weren't looking for a romantic getaway so I asked if they had anything else or if they could give us anything in the $85 price range. The attendant asked if we could do $90 including taxes and I said yes. Then she mumbled okay, $90 plus taxes which brought it back up to $99. Pretty sneaky of her, and I should have just left and went to another hotel then but my wife was tired. I reminded her that we had just agreed to $90 including taxes and she reluctantly agreed with me but haggled me up to $85 + tax which came out to $93.50. Then I mentioned we had a baby all of the sudden she stopped what she was doing and said she couldn't put me in that room even though she had just informed me that it was our only option. I assured her that our 2 month old baby wasn't a problem but she informed me that she could not put 3 people in the nice room. To me this sounded completely absurd and before I realized it she had successfully downgraded our room to one half the size and upgraded another customer who had not arrived yet but we saw no change in price. Apparently I was supposed to be happy because our 2 month old, who sleeps in her car seat still, now had an entire bed for herself. Then we got to the room, it was very stuffy right off the bat so I went to turn on the air conditioner. Except there wasn't an air conditioner, just two heaters. It was a warm day and I figured I'd open the window because the room had gotten quite warm. Only one window of the 4 in the room actually opens which creates no air flow whatsoever. Then I checked the bathroom, promptly killed a decent size spider and wondered if I had made a good decision. When we were ready to give our baby a bath we realized that the shower didn't work. The drain did not close when the lever was moved in either direction so I had to go downstairs and get something to plug it up. After a long day when I went to shower I was greeted with the absolute LOWEST flow shower head I've ever used. It was like we were slightly upgraded from low flow pipe sticking out of the wall. I have had camp showers that were more pleasant and more effective. Oh and it's important to mention that our room, that was supposed to have two queens, actually was a room with two double beds. Their actual queen size beds are labeled "executive queen" which we would have had if we hadn't been downgraded. Breakfast was OK, not spectacular, not horrible, but also not very satisfying. Everything is saran wrapped, (cups, bagels etc) they love that here. Poor choice in cereal, for some reason they had a random crock pot of warm and serve breakfast sausages but that was the only hot food available. The bagels weren't very good or fresh and to complete the random assortment there was a container of string cheese. Bottom line is there are lots of little hotels in Florence, this one isn't worth it, go find another. read more

This place is clean and quiet. Our room was on the small side. Using the hot tub was a huge pain because you have to reserve it in order for them to turn it on. I tried to use it twice without success because my schedule didn't align with a time they could turn it on. The hot tub is really more of a glorified bath tub. We stayed in one of the rooms with a hot tub. The room was nice and clean. As mentioned in another review, it would be nice to have a table to eat on. There actually is one in the room; however it is just as tall as the two chairs. The location is nice; being in old-town, so that does make it nice to walk around. The view was nice from the window. The bed was firm. Not being our own bed, plus no memory foam made for a night of tossing. The shower head is lo-flow, so you don't get an invigorating burst of water. The breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Coffee was lukewarm and not very good. Had plastic wrapped bagels, cream cheese, string cheese and cheddar cheese. Juice, milk and dry cereal. Did have brown and serve sausages in a crock pot. We did stay in one of the expensive rooms, which I would not do again, but would stay in the less expensive rooms. I would not be quite as critical at that point. Our next door guest came in around midnight and opened/closed all the drawers, and did the hot tub which we were well aware of. read more

No go for us again. Room 3 is right next to the office. Phone rang over 10-15 times in a row, five different times while we were trying to sleep at 1AM. Called the owner and they had someone out there right away. Problem was, they were clanging around in some closet for over an hour. Got to sleep sometime after 2 AM. Hotel cut corners on construction. Instead of double layers of sheet rock for sound proofing, they went cheap. You can hear people mumbling in the room next door. Beds are uncomfortable. My boyfriend and I simply love this place! We opted for the room with the in-room spa. It was a bit loud when it was on but it was very relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and with the space allowed for all the other furniture it was nicely decorated. The front office staff was very pleasant and helpful and the continental breakfast was very nice and simple. If you're looking for waffles and a big room to sit and eat, this is not the place to stay, but if you're looking for that home town hospitality, simple breakfast, friendly staff, clean environment, and great view this is the place to stay. We planned a fun romantic evening in Florence to see Pablo Cruise in concert. I did a thorough search for a motel/hotel that hot tub suites. After reading all the reviews I reserved a suite room at The Landmark Inn. The Inn was quaint and the room was exactly as pictured on the website. However, when we filled the hot tub to relax before the show we noticed a ugly brown ring developing around the waterline in the tub. We decided to drain the tub and more surprises occurred. The filter had so much lint and weird stuff had collected. So needless to say no hot tub for this trip. My husband went to the office to inform the staff and spoke with the manger. He explained they are at the end of the waterline and that was rust or iron in the water. My husband is a maintenance supervisor and is quite aware of the rust in pipes, so this could not be the issue. He gave us a $20 credit, but seemed to be bothered that we were making a complaint. We have stayed in many motels large and small with hot tub rooms and have never had this happen. If you choose to use this Inn, make sure you ask if the tubs are clean and double check before using.. One additional issue is the bed was extremely uncomfortable... Please research your places before make reservations.. We will... read more

My wife and I recently (11-7 thru 11-12-2016) stayed at the Landmark Inn. The rooms are non-smoking rooms, which is what we prefer. All went well until the evening of 11-11-16 when we returned to our room and was greeted with the overwhelming stench of cigarettes in our room. Housekeeping had cleaned that afternoon and it was obvious to us that someone had smoked, probably an entire cigarette, in our room. The Inn was full and we could not move to another room. When I brought this to the attention of the clerk upon checking out the next morning he tried to shift the blame to us with numerous excuses. Amongst these were, "You must have left a window open and someone smoked out side your room." It was raining--We did not leave windows open. I left my phone number and specifically asked to have the owner contact me. No contact has occurred. This decidedly is no way to treat people. It is apparent to us that the owner is more concerned with his bottom line than maintaining good relations with the public. My hope is this review will help others to make a better and more informed choice in hotels. read more
