They have been trying to make improvements and it shows. So for the good: The room was clean and spacious The pool and sauna were clean free breakfast always a plus. The bad: Even though they added a wooden ceiling to curb the footsteps upstairs they still come through:( I know it's the coast but AC would be helpful they did get us a fan though. So in my opinion worth the stay I would stay here again, but I would prefer a new motel. read more

Passing through the Florence area and just happened to drive by this quiet inn. Randomly called after seeing the vacancy sign and customer service (which seems in short supply here???) was amazing! I wish I could remember her name - lady in early sixties, perhaps - recommended a great place to eat in historic old town and then kindly welcomed me in after dinner around 9:30 at night. Even though she didn't have to, she stayed up with me to talk, discuss my road trip, and help map out the next few days. Rooms were clean and spacious, and the signs indicating a 10pm curfew were effectively enforced, although all guests in the pool and hot tub, myself included, respected them without further intervention. Side note: I don't know where else to mention this, but I want to share the advice passed along by the hotel clerk. There is a secluded cove just north of Florence that is a must-see if you're near the coast. To get there, drive north along the 101 until just after the tunnel/ bridge. There is a turn off for the Heceta lighthouse and beach. This is a beautiful, little-known gem and off the beaten path. It doesn't require more than 20 minutes, but there is a small tortuous creek that flows beneath the aforementioned bridge and the subsequent estuary has created a really idyllic beachfront. Solid four stars for this low-budget option. All necessities covered: check. HUGE king-size bed: check. Frills: absolutely none - worth the low price for our budget travel. Caveats: Mr Sensitive Nose said the nonsmoking room must have a past as a smokers' room; the plumbing taps and heater controls are rather archaic, but usable for someone who remembers the 80s. Continental breakfast 7-9 am, we missed so can't comment. Finally, super bonus in kind front desk clerk who assisted in getting a couple papers printed out for me so I could sign them, then she kindly sent my signed forms out by fax, all at no extra charge. We didn't have a reservation and they still helped us even though we arrived after hours, they gave us a room with a smile. The bed was huge and comfortable and the courtyard area was sweet to write and stretch in. My husband enjoyed taking a bath. Quiet place with kind people. read more

This place is a total scam place avoide at all costs , rented a room for one night , put all my stuff including cell phone and wallet on night stand stepped outside to smoke a cigarette and was locked out went to front door of motel it was locked and closed 5 minutes earlier, knocked and pounded on door and they live in back , no one came walked across the street called number on sign from gas station 12 times no answer, walked back over pounded on windows and doors , nothing had my keys to truck drove 30 miles stayed at s friends came back this morning they lied to my face said no phone calls and they never heard me knocking , made me pay another 20 to get my stuff because key was in the room read more

They are pet friendly, and it is located in the middle of everything Florence has to offer: beaches, dunes, antique shopping, restaraunts. It is in a comfortable and safe area away from riff-raff. We did not like the motel room. I opened the door and the first thing I got was a strong mil dewy odor. The room was clean but old and nothing special about it. my wife turned the water on in the tub and at first rusty water came out. We did enjoy the hot-tub they had but I would rather spend a little more and get a better room somewhere else. read more

I was driving up to Florence from central California so I called to make a reservation for that night for a smoking a room. This was the only hotel that I found that you could smoke in. The price is very reasonable. When I showed up I ended up having to stay for 3 more days. They had no problems extending my stay. The staff was very nice. My room was very nice. Even though it was a smoking room it never smelled like a smokers room. The channel selection on the T.V. was great. They offer continental breakfast. There is a great Chinese food restaurant right across the street. I would definitely stay here again and let my friends know about. read more

the wife and I stayed here for 2 nights the room was clean the staff was helpful all in all was a good stay only a couple minor things the door lock sticks on 42 and the head board moved way to much and made a lot of noise .... the hot tub was nice clean I will stay there again hopefully they fix the head board and the door lock but they are minor little things tho .... read more

Do not let the appearance scare you away. The outside looks run down, but the inside was pleasantly surprising. The ceiling looked really nice and the room was spacious and very clean. I'll start with the downfalls; the outside looks run down, the pool wasn't( or didn't work) heated, and the guest laundry room and fitness room are locked so you'd need to find an attendant to use them. The fitness room was very very small and I wouldn't recommend more than one person in there at a time. We had a room that was connected to another room and did not like that it couldn't lock from our end. We could access the other room from ours. The last one is the water looked slightly discolored, but after a second it was fine! It was fairly quiet and they had a signs that said "quiet after 10 pm". But inside the room was nice, the tv was a good size, had a fridge and microwave, even had a bathtub! Two minute walk to Safeway and it was cheap. The hot tub also was so nice! It was my favorite part. It had its own little room too! Overall; would stay there again an recommend if you want something cheap but not bad! read more

Was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. Booked for a 1 night getaway from the kids. Large room with King size bed. Had fridge in room. No coffee maker so that was a bummer but the donut place next door has great coffee(and donuts!) This place was CLEAN!!! Kept up nicely. Just outdated. If you don't care about all the frills and want to spend your money doing fun stuff this is your place. Very comfortable and close to everything. Hot tub was HOT! As of writing this I'm sitting against the crappy baseboard heater in my room here wearing 4 layers and I'm still freezing. I've been waiting for my room to warm up to something above 50 degrees for over an hour now but it's just not happening. I would have never stayed here in the first place if I wasn't running out of diesel. I'm literally just staying here so I can go get diesel in the morning when the gas station opens and then I'm getting the hell out of here. Steer clear of this place. read more

It was good for the price, very friendly, plus they don't charge as much as other places for having a pet. What I didn't like was that after paying for my pet, I wasn't allowed to leave her in my room so I could go out to eat or anything else I needed to do. Why am I paying extra then? Especially with a pet that is non-destructive. $18 for 2 days, $6 for each additional day. Other than that, it was clean, bed was good, pillows were good, shower was good, had a refrigerator, microwave and cable. The area is downtown, seemed like a decent area with a couple of places to eat across the street. Breakfast included but I never went over there. read more

This is the worst hotel and is run by people who are clueless about the ADA. They violated my civil rights not once, or twice, but 4 TIMES!!! The hotel is pretty run down and the pool and jacuzzi weren't working two out of the 5 days we were there. 5hey say they have a continental breakfast but it's the worst I have ever seen. The sauna only runs from 5 to 10 but they won't even turn it on until 5 so since it takes an hour to get hot, they should say it runs from 6 to 10. It's a no smoking facility however the employees walk around all the buildings and smoke. Standing right in front of the signs that say "no smoking within 10 feet". The blinds did not work in room 23 and the headboard fell off the bed in room 21. If I cod give 0 stars I would, this place is awful. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea. P.s, the rooms have a weird smell as well, so bring your room freshener read more

For the money, it was clean, had wi-fi, nice bed, plenty of additional room. Nice hide-a-bed couch. Clean pool, although did not use. Friendly lady at the front desk, helpful and enjoyed the continental breakfast in the morning. Very pleasant. Will be back! read more
