She met us at the Magnolia House in less than 30 minutes. She was incredibly patient with us as we discussed how to make it work and how to address the cost between the families. We occupied quite a bit of her time on a day she wasn't expecting us. She helped us secure the bartender, table cloths (because we planned rectangular tables and now had round ones), and security. We left her a little after 3, and she had the area set up for our rehearsal scheduled at 5 that same day. The wedding turned out beautifully. Magnolia House should have been our original venue, as things turned out even better than we had originally planned. I cannot recommend Allison and Cathedral Oaks enough.

A Wonderful Evening at Dead Fish Grill…read more We went to Dead Fish Grill last night with friends, and everything was absolutely top-notch! The food was fantastic, and the appetizers were almost enough for a full meal. Everything looked so delicious that we decided to try several different options--and nothing disappointed! The beet salad was amazing, and the catfish bites were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was wonderful, and the atmosphere was lively, fun, and welcoming. I highly recommend Dead Fish Grill and am already looking forward to the many fun events on the horizon! What a great evening with great friends!

Finding good, fresh seafood in the middle of Texas isn't always easy, and this place has a really nice variety of seafood and Cajun dishes. They also have plenty of beer to choose from, which never hurts. One thing that has always stood out to us is the service. The wait staff tends to be a little more experienced, and you can tell they actually care about taking care of their tables. We've always had good service when we've visited. Prices are reasonable, especially for seafood, and overall it's just a nice place to spend an afternoon or evening. It works equally well for taking the family or sitting out on the deck for a date night. It's far enough away that we don't go all the time, but close enough that we keep finding our way back every few months.

The Beltonian is a cute little original theatre from a times past. It's been remodeled and captures the old nostalgia we all miss from our childhood. They have one screen. They are limited to what they show, for how long and how many. But that makes for a quick turnover and one never gets bored with what to watch. Saturday's they have cartoons and breakfasts for the kids. They have many special events. Elf was one we went to recently. They have dueling piano concert. And many more things. Oh and the best are some of the older movies back up on the big screen. They have a big menu. Not just popcorn and candy. Little pizzas. Sliders. They have beer and wine. But also all the fun stuff for kids. They sell out quickly so always pre-buy your tickets on the site. We had a great time and appreciate the walk back on time.

Him and his team were super helpful before, during, and after the party. They were auper patient with all of the kiddos running around, keeping popcorn coming and cleaning up the messes that kids inevitably made throughout the party. The venue itself was perfect for us since we had a toddler and 2 children with special needs in attendance. It's basically one big room so it was easy to keep up with where everyone was. There were so many game options, from pong (which the grandparents especially loved), patio games, mortal kombat, Mario kart, the OG duck hunt game, the list goes on. I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or the adults! The crew there did a great job keeping up with our drink and food orders throughout the party. Then afterwards were helpful with rounding up the kids and getting the place cleaned up. I see a 12th birthday party at this location in our future!

We weren't charged more at the farm, but still not sure what the official policy is. My husband, I, our toddler, and newborn went on a Saturday morning and had the place to ourselves. You book in advance on the website, and the self-guided tour is booked for 45 minutes. We saw a cow, alpaca, their famed mini-highland cow, chickens, dogs, ducks, a pig, baby (or small) goats, geese, an emu, and rabbits. The geese were a bit aggressive, but Renee put them away for us, which was much appreciated. The alpaca and ducks didn't want much to do with us, but the emu, goats, dogs, and pig were all very friendly. The cow was also very chill and didn't mind us petting him, but wasn't enthusiastic about our presence. I was a little freaked out by the emu, Lulu, but Renee assured us that she was curious but harmless and by the end we were all great friends. Some things to know: do not wear your best shoes. There are, understandably, animal droppings everywhere. There is a walking path from where you park to where you pet the animals, but the animal area is not stroller-friendly. Also, the goats may try to eat your stroller, which can't be good for them. I just baby-wore, and that worked great for us; we'll plan to do that from the start next time. The instructions say to park and then walk up to the big red barn. There were two red barns and nobody at either of them, so we weren't entirely sure if we needed to check-in or something. We also weren't sure if we could just start petting the animals we saw or if there was a specific place we were supposed to be. Renee came out after we'd been there about 10 minutes and chatted for a bit, but having someone greet us and tell us where to start, or at least some clear signage, would have given this the 5th star.

They said the animals that were there for the guests to pet and love on were all cuddly and very comfortable being around people. One thing my son talked about was how clear the stars were they could sit outside and look up at the stars and really see them because there was little to know light pollution.
