We had our antique buffet fixed by Ricardo Rivedi. The legs gave out and it fell on the floor. He was able to reset the legs and he fixed them even more sturdy than it was. We recently moved and our dining room table was damaged during the move. The legs that support the pedestals were cracked and one was crushed. We have owned the table for 15 years. We never thought we would have to replace it. However we did not have much hope that it could be repaired. After going in circles with the movers insurance we found Ricardo at Riveldi. I brought Ricardo a number of my grandmother's occasional tables to see if he could strengthen, repair, and improve the appearance of all three. We talked about what he felt was the best treatment for each and gave me an estimate of price. All were reasonable so I asked him to proceed. The oldest table, vintage 1910, is now not only very sturdy, but has become a small but stately piece of furniture in my family room. The same for the other two. I have a heavy dining room table that had a broken latch (the part under the table that locks leaves into place,) and some white rings on the surface. I can barely move this table, let alone transport it for repair. Ricardo had me send him a few photos, and arranged a time just a few days out to come out to see if he could repair the table. He showed up on time and set about figuring out the latching system and parts. He also cleaned the surface - no more white marks! He had to take the latches back to his shop to repair them, and I was surprised to get a call the next day - he came back, reattached everything, and cleaned and polished my table in the bargain! We purchased a dining set recently and contacted Ricardo about restoring/refinishing them (sent photos). Ricardo responded within 4 or 5 hours and we set up a time to talk on the phone. He gave me great information about the set we purchased and told me the table looked to be in great condition, that he thought all it would need is a good cleaning with good products, and told me what to use and how to use it - he even sent photos of the products so I would know what to purchase. He said he could do it, but it is something I could do without having to pay him to come to our house and do the same thing. As far as the chairs, he said they probably only need some tightening and that we can arrange to take those in to him. The chairs also need new upholstery - he gave us the name and contact information for someone he works with on a regular basis. I will update this review once the work is completed, but I can't say enough about Ricardo's knowledge and sharing information. He didn't have to spend 20 minutes on the phone with me and could have had us pay him to work on the table instead of telling me step-by-step what to do.. read more

Rivedi to the rescue! A furniture shipper ruined my high end Stickley dining room set...or so I thought. Ricardo drove out, almost 50 miles, took one look and said "no problem, I can restore it". After a very reasonable estimate he returned with 2 chairs completed and looking showroom new. He completed restoring the remaining chairs and table at my house in less than a day. He used steam to raise the grain rather than wood filler. After perfectly matching the stain and applying several coats of finish I can't even tell were the repairs were made.
