The orchard grows a ton of different apple varieties so there's good picking during the full apple season. We got to choose between Zestar and Jerseymac apples during our visit. I'm a big fan of crisp and tart so the Zestars fit the bill. Peach picking was a bit of the same only fewer varieties. Raspberry picking was a fun new experience. You're essentially hunting and the fruit that is ready to be picked will slide off their cone-like cores. Since it was early in the season most of the berries were small or immature and there were a ton of bees buzzing around. I mean a ton where you'd go to pick and they would be buzzing around your hand. Don't worry though! The bees are friendly and indifferent to your picking the fruit. Just be gentle. Pro tip: come on a day where there's a breeze. We went on a still day in August and it was hot! 90 minutes in the sun and we were feeling pretty crunchy.

We had an amazing time together as it wasn't overly busy and the other guests were respectful of others and the rows were well maintained. There were many rows to pick at and the man at the service counter was extremely nice. He let us know where we were able to pick (in which rows) and he gave us information about how much weight wise the tray of blueberries could hold as opposed to the pint containers. It was a great experience all around. Who doesn't love to be outside picking berries on a beautiful summer day?! Remember to bring a light arm coving or sunscreen as the sun can get hot. I come every year and look forward to going back every season.

The place had a lot of customers however, it didn't seem all that crowded. The strawberries were ripe and were delicious in the strawberry crumble we made when we got home. It was super busy, cars packed in everywhere, long lines to get in to pay for the things we bought and for donuts. But once inside, the fall charm made up for it. There was no admission fee which was nice. The apple picking was peaceful with no lines and perfect for photo ops and enjoying the day. We got lucky with hot, fresh apple cider donuts that had just come out when we paid and they were absolutely delicious. The apple cider slushie was refreshing, and I grabbed caramel popcorn to go. Big downside: we waited 20 minutes in line at a food truck only to be told they had to shut down because they ran out of food right when it was our turn. Major bummer! That said, the weather was beautiful, the energy was festive, and the free entry is a big plus. Worth visiting, just go early, expect crowds, and maybe pack a snack!
