We were already familiar with their produce at the local Scarborough town farmers market they used to be regularly and their produce is great. This stop we found organic eggs, lettuce, frozen fruit, meats, local bread loaves, kombucha, some organic dried cranberries in a glass mason jar and other dried bulk items like grains, cereal, pasta. mayo and a chocolate bar, among many other items just to give you an idea. Payment is done yourself with honor system- cash or check. Definitely worth returning.

We drove to the farm in Scarborough without expecting much and ended up completely falling in love with the place. Frith Farm wasn't what we envisioned; it was beyond that. When we went in the winter, the farm store looked straight out of a New England fairy tale. Even thought we were close to Portland, we felt like we were in a small village. It was absolutely adorable, like one of those places you see featured on a travel magazine. We walked in and found no one inside. Soon, we learned the farm store was self-serve. You buy what you want, and leave a check or cash to pay. A calculator and a scale made the self-checkout process very smooth. The farm store had a lot to offer. There was plenty of fresh winter produce, from watermelon radishes to winter squash and everything else in between. A freezer was stocked with meats, and even frozen kale. Jams, pastas, oils, juices, spices, and even books - all local - were also available. They also had fresh bread, but unfortunately there was none left by the time we got there. There's truly something for everyone at Frith Farm. Important to note: we loved that the produce was organic. I am so glad we stumbled upon Frith Farm and I cannot wait to keep coming back,.

I've been wanting to go on one of the mill tours for a long time and it was better than I expected…read more I live and work in Biddeford and went with a group of other people, including a few who actually worked in the mills back in the day. It was described as a two hour tour & it ran for about two and a half hours. This was a good thing because the tour wasn't rushed and everyone's questions were answered. The mills are being renovated and rebuilt at an astonishing pace so if you want to go, do it within the next few years. The price was $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for students, and it was well worth it. I posted a few pictures and there's MUCH more to see. Quick update (10/19/13): The mill tours are done for the season. Most of the tour takes place on unheated spaces and it's getting cold. If you're interested in checking this out, bookmark it and do it in Spring 2014 when they start up again. You don't want to miss this and the mills are being filled at an amazing rate so it won't look like this for much longer. Quick update (7/29/14): They're not doing mill tours this year. I'm not sure why but there's a lot of construction. Hopefully they'll start the tours again soon.

On recommendation from McDougals, we went to check out this farm and was not disappointed! The Rivard Farm is a fantastic spot to pick blueberries! We came in early / mid August and there was plenty to pick from. They'll give you a plastic bag or jug and you weigh on your way out. There really isn't a category for an artists colony, but that's what the Upper Mill building is…read more There are over 100 artists sharing a big mill building in little Rollingsford and twice a year, about half of them participate in an open house. This review is based on attending the open house as a visitor. The open house was fun. There's a ton of things to see and it didn't get boring. My favorite studio belongs to David Random but there were five floors of artists of all types. Some of them are amazing and some I didn't get at all, but that's art. I didn't feel quite the "I want to quit my job and become an artist" vibe that I got at the similar Button Factory mill building in Portsmouth but it was still good. And the building has a more "single purpose" feel than the Washington St. Mills in Dover, though I don't know if that matters. The open house is held twice a year, on the weekends before Mother's Day and Thanksgiving, and it's worth visiting. The only catch is the parking. There's enough for the artists, but not enough for all of the people that show up for the open house so be patient.
