First time visitors to Maine we knew there had to be an apple orchard somewhere! We were not…read moredisappointed taking a drive inland from Kittery for fresh orchard apples!! Loved that you could mix different varieties in a bag. So we each got our own bag with our favorites. That first bite was fresh, sweet and crunchy. From WI but living in AZ now, driving through country roads, seeing all the trees and beautiful lakes was a treat from the desert landscape!! Very enjoyable seeing a bit of fall color change starting to happen. Miss that!!

Get your pick on!…read more Had a fantastic time with the family picking early season raspberries, apples and peaches. The orchard grows a ton of different apple varieties so there's good picking during the full apple season. We got to choose between Zestar and Jerseymac apples during our visit. I'm a big fan of crisp and tart so the Zestars fit the bill. Peach picking was a bit of the same only fewer varieties. Raspberry picking was a fun new experience. You're essentially hunting and the fruit that is ready to be picked will slide off their cone-like cores. Since it was early in the season most of the berries were small or immature and there were a ton of bees buzzing around. I mean a ton where you'd go to pick and they would be buzzing around your hand. Don't worry though! The bees are friendly and indifferent to your picking the fruit. Just be gentle. Pro tip: come on a day where there's a breeze. We went on a still day in August and it was hot! 90 minutes in the sun and we were feeling pretty crunchy.

What made the experience even more memorable was how genuinely friendly and welcoming the owners were. You can feel the pride and care they put into the farm and into making every visitor feel at home. We had so much fun and created such a special memory together. We will absolutely be back.
