I chose one of their remaining items: a small cake that had a touch of lemon and a raspberry on top of a creamy frosting. It was delicious--a welcomed treat when I felt in need of a pick me up. I did not have a chance to test their food so am unable to comment. Do note however: This is a VERY small place. Cozy to be sure, but small and by no means for larger groups. It is ideal for the soloist and duos to come in and have a fairly quick coffee, cake, and food (I assume). This is NOT a place to study. There are no comfortable lounge chairs, chairs or tables. The seating is composed of stools that reside at two bars. It's kind of reminding me of Italian style cafes where you drink your espresso at the bar, across from the barista who just served it to you (though in Rome, they don't offer you stools even!). As for my large Empire Biscuit, well it was also the best I've had (they are my favourites and I always eat them when in Scotland!) as it was fresh, thick and crumbly (usually they are quite hard). They do a great selection of freshly made lunches too from salads to toasties. The substantial and delicious soup with a sandwich is only £6.95. The coffees are extremely good and come with some pieces of homemade Scottish butter tablet on the side of the saucer. We had hoped to eat there again but sadly ran out of time this trip. Prominently located on the main coast road as you come into the centre of the town from the north, with striking 1930's(?) architecture it is hard to miss and nor should you! We ordered a pide with chorizo egg n mozzarella to share. We never tried it before n it's pretty amazing. Their scones are also really nice to try. The service here is friendly n efficient. However, I'll say it's slightly pricey. But we know we will miss their pide n come here if we come to Arran again.
