This really is an amazing cafe. I know I said in a different review that another cafe was the best in Largs, but now that I've spent some time in here (today), I really think this one is better.
To start with it's very attractive inside and, from several tables, there's a great view of the Clyde and the Cumbrae ferry. There are ceiling fans and interesting pictures and ornaments around the walls.
The smoothies aren't cheap (£3.10) but they really are exceptionally good. The Italian coffees, and the teas, are really excellent too. The coffees come with a little biscuit on the saucer.
The menu is large and you can find many delicious light meals and snacks: pizzas, baked potatoes with various fillings, salads, burgers and sandwiches. The gorgeous cakes are freshly baked. There are truly fabulous ice creams on offer too, with marshmallows, pieces of coconut, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, fresh fruit and even more!! The ones on the children's menu are actually shaped into cartoon characters I was amazed to see them.
The downstairs toilets are easily accessible for everyone and there is a disabled one too.
If I have any criticism at all it's only to say that the very young waitresses could be a bit friendlier and more welcoming they were perhaps just a bit shy so I won't take off any stars! read more
