What a pleasant surprise! I had expected a dirty, greasy place but was very pleased to see that it was exceptionally clean and there was one member of staff who seemed to be engaged in full-time cleaning duties of the restaurant. Our food was basic but very tasty, and there was some nutritional info on a leaflet given to us with the tray which again surprised me as it was nowhere as bad as I had expected - my entire meal had approx 600 calories. They also have a drive-in service which is very popular - we watched dozens of cars passing through while we ate. Although I never thought I'd say it, I would highly recommend stopping off here for a very cheap and cheerful lunch - it's a lot better than I expected!

Chip suppers in here are around 4 pounds which is about average these days, but as far as fast food goes they are a really high quality and you are speedily served. They have a wide variety of fried shizz and the fish is sea fresh and scrummy! If you're hungry and your rumbling tummy is calling out to be fed, you can't miss this place. With the 5 foot Viking figure acting as a bouncer outside the door, you can get your picture taken by him while tucking in to a tasty bag of chips. A sign on their door boasts that The Viking holds world records in speedy service - apparently they once served 12,000 suppers in one day! With the lightning quick service and satisfying food, I'm not surprised this place is always busy and never disappoints.

Since I was dining in I was offered a proper fork, but they have wooden takeaway forks should you choose to walk and eat. Seating is limited, probably about 6 stools facing the window. There are a variety of dipping sauces available but I just went with the standard salk+vinegar and everything was amazing!!

For me, visiting a McDonald's is never exactly a proud moment. It usually means I'm a) drunk, b)…read morehungover or c) suffering a momentary lapse of self control and ruining my most recent attempts to be healthy. We've all been there, I'm sure. Thing is, McDonald's actually is good for those things and if that's what you're after then there's no shame in that. This branch is especially handy in that it's open 24 hours. It also has a drive-thru attached, although I've never used that facility so I can't properly comment on it. In spite of being a small, drive-thru branch they still do all of the major offers (so if you get one of those vouchers for a big mac and fries for £1.99 then go ahead, they'll accept it) and they do all the standard UK menu items, including the specials as they come and go. Food-wise it's the same as any other McDonald's. They can alter your items if you have any particular requirements and they almost always have a few Big Macs and McChicken Sandwiches ready to go as you walk in. If not, they're still pretty quick. Less popular items, such as specials, salads and deli sandwiches take a bit longer, but I'm pretty sure that's true everywhere. You can expect really long queues around dinner time and long-ish queues at lunch time over the weekends. I've only ever once failed to get a seat, though. Plus, the staff are quick enough and clearing the queue and if there's a wait for fries (or if you've ordered something less popular) they'll tell you to go take a seat and will bring it to you when it's ready. The toilets are kept pretty clean and the staff do a decent job of clearing the tables whenever they get chance. The WiFi is free too, so I could even imagine people working here during quieter hours. One very important thing though - don't get the coffee. It's the worst I've ever tasted. Just don't.
