Nearby the swimming pool, so this place is handy for a post-swim warm-up. Quite busy on a Thursday lunchtime. We got a table by the window, with a great view over the Clyde estuary.
Good was pretty good - chorizo and emmental panini was a hit. Chicken and rice soup would have been better if some monster hadn't put celery in it - my companions lentil soup also had it. THIS IS SCOTLAND for crying out loud!
Service wasn't amazing. It wasn't terrible, but a little rushed and also we had a long wait for our food. People who arrived after us, and ordered after us, were served their food before us. They were also having soup and sandwiches, so I can't really see the why this was and no apology or explanation was offered. They also served a babyccino to a toddler in a coffee cup and saucer - we asked for a take out cup and straw which was more suitable. Maybe a wee but more thought needs to go into serving junior guests!
All in all, I'd give it a 3.5/5. I'd go back if I was in need of sustenance next time I'm swimming.
Just one wee aside...waitresses, think about maybe wearing thicker leggings or proper trousers...we could just about see what you'd had for breakfast! read more
