    Juniper lavender chocolate

We were looking for a bean-to-bar chocolatier while visiting Park City and were delighted to learn Ritual Chocolate was nearby in Heber City, Utah. Samples of their chocolate bars are available, which helped us make good choices and introduced us to flavors we might not have otherwise chosen. My favorite is the juniper lavender chocolate. Who knew? This chocolate is best savored, releasing all the flavors. I can't wait to hear what my friends think of this amazing chocolate!

This place is still open for everyone wondering! We just went and our iced mocha was amazing. Love the chocolate samples!

Ritual has amazing chocolate bars. I've tried many of their single origin and mountain series, and I would recommend all of them. This location houses their factory as well as a cafe. You are able to take a brief tour of the factory, check their website for dates and times. The factory tour gives you some background around their process. You can see the machines they use and you get to taste some of their chocolate. It's a short but fun way to learn more about their process. I'd recommend stopping by to try some chocolate or grab a coffee!

Ritual chocolate. I've seen this brand in Whole Foods and Harmon. They might be in other local places too. Their chocolate bars are so delicious, and their lavender coffee is really good. They offer a tour through their chocolate factory and it's awesome how chocolate has its steps. It's a must-do.

I am already a devoted Ritual fan, so there is nothing new here as far as the chocolate goes. It is divine: not too sweet, balanced flavors, and those with inclusions are subtle, never overwhelming their award winning chocolate. This new space is large, light, and open, and will offer plenty of room for social distancing during these COVID times. I adored the gallery wall along the back of the café. Utahns are lucky to have many local sources of Ritual's delightful chocolate bars, so when previously visiting their Park City and Whole Foods cafés, it was mostly to stock up on the house made chocolates. Sadly (SO sadly!), they seem to be discontinued. I cried some inward tears upon discovery, and then breathed a sigh of relief to find they still offer their gluten free brownies. Phew! They have gorgeous sipping chocolate, coffee, tea, oh-so-trendy sparkling cans of Dram (even the CBD varieties), baked goodies including Süss cookies, and a few savory options: toasts, quiche, empanadas, plus house made yogurt and granola. I selected a slice of bacon vegetable quiche (I believe made by local June Pies), and it was just okay. The bottom of the crust was soggy, and the filling was fine, just unexceptional. I did, however, enjoy the well-cooked flaky brown crust! I wish I had selected the two varieties of empanada instead, but there is always next time. And the gluten free brownie! Besides the aforementioned chocolates (RIP) this is my Ritual café favorite. These brownies look so unassuming, but are like the bar form of an incredibly rich, but not too sweet flourless chocolate cake. They are packed with chunks of chocolate and cacao nibs featuring lovely fruity notes. Swoon! I have tried so many gluten free brownie recipes at home, but to no avail. It cannot be replicated, so you best get yourself to Ritual.

Warning! This place is totally unorganized. We booked an 11am tour of their factory and drove through a snowstorm to get there. When we arrived, we were told the "tour guide" isn't here, and we should come back at 1pm. Not having a spare 2 hours to sit around and wait in an industrial park, we asked for a refund. We were told we have to email their accountant to "see if we can get one". To top that off , we were told that the account is currently touring South Africa, so it may take a few weeks.

Besides having delicious chocolate....they make some dang good coffee!!! Went twice during my stay near Heber City. Baristas were kind, and it's nice, quiet and cozy on the inside to get some work or reading done!!! Love it.

Amazing amazing amazing and dare I say the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had? The employees here are all very friendly and pleasant. During our lunch one of the employees even brought out a free hot chocolate for us to try. This place is a fantastic addition to the valley:)

This location might be missed if you go by too fast it's in a newly built business plaza, so heads up when your driving there! The entrance is on the side facing the parking lot not the street side. We ordered: (1) Quiche (1) Brownie - Gluten Free (1) Sipping Chocolate- Ecuador (2) Mochas (2) Ritual Mugs- Black and White Speckle (2) Suss cookies! Cam helped us out in choosing the Sipping chocolate, don't be fooled, it's not hot chocolate! I've had sipping chocolate before, there is a reason it's called sipping chocolate! It's very fine and rich chocolate with hot water so it's very pure without the distractions of adding anything else like heavy whipping cream or milk/sugar etc. The sipping chocolate was very fine and strong it was about the size of an espresso. My husband and I shared ours. Then we each got a mocha, very nice. Cam added a piece of Fleur de Sol chocolate on top and we added it to our Mochas to sweeten it up more! We like things more on the sweet side! Beautiful, clean, trendy ambiance! We will definitely come again when we are back in Utah! Maybe by then we can try the chocolate tasting experience which is what they mentioned they would like to do in the future since they have an even room along with tours of the chocolate factory/process. All the sweets and the quiche were very good!

Get the americano or pour over. The drip is the tangy Seattle roast, which I don't care for. Service is super friendly.

Looking for a sweet treat made by you (and for you ;))? This is the perfect place! Whether it's a…read moredate, fam or a treat yourself night, this is a fun place to make chocolates... AND leave the mess out of the house. As a fam of four, this was a fun place to let our creativity run with the multiple and various flavors (strawberry, coconut, raspberries and peanut butter), whatever combos you want to have. Our chocolatier, Clara, came straight from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, super kind and ready to help with making the chocolates. Whether you make delicious or questionable chocolates, this is the place to be. Definitely arrive on time for the sweetest experience as you're supposed to start on the dot, make a res for stress free time and don't panic as there's plenty of parking in the plaza.

Okay, long review…read more Let's start with the cons. They really nickel and dime you. The regular workshop package is half a pound of chocolate for $18. They weighed mine and my husband's together and it came out to 1.02 pounds total, and they charged us for the 0.02 pound overage. It was only about 32 cents, but it felt absolutely ridiculous and left a bad impression. Cleanliness was also an issue. There were no aprons, and people with long hair were not required to pull it back, including employees. I saw employees leaning over the running chocolate with large chunks of hair hanging down. We were not asked to wash our hands, only to put on gloves. I also noticed sample spoons left in some of the fillings and it was unclear whether they were just scoops or had already been used to taste. I saw one employee prepping caramel apples while holding one down at her side and it was rubbing against her jeans. There was also obvious cross contamination between different fillings and toppings, with things visibly mixed into others. Now for the middle stuff that is just good to know. We thought this was a class where you learn to make chocolate. That is not what this is. You watch a short video and then they bring you already melted chocolate. You pour it into molds and add toppings and fillings like chopped nuts, dried fruit, crushed candy bars, cookies, etc. You are not actually making chocolate. That is not necessarily a bad thing, just not what we were expecting, so it felt much more simplistic than we had hoped. It was still fun and the chocolate was good. Another thing to be aware of is allergens. There is no way to avoid them here. If you have serious allergies, especially nuts, dairy, or fruit, do not go. I was honestly shocked that there was no warning about this on the website or when I called to make our reservation. I would have been really upset if I had a nut allergy and showed up only to find out there was no safe way to participate. Now for the good, because we genuinely did have an enjoyable time with our group. I liked having a date option that was not just dinner and a movie. Usually if I want to do something different, I have to drive all the way to Provo, so it was nice to have something like this in Lehi. It also was not terribly expensive overall. Even with the nickel and diming, you would not be able to take an actual chocolate making class for $18. It was also easy enough that pretty much anyone could do it. Would I go again? Probably, but not often. Maybe one more time. It is not something I would never do again, but it is also not a must do.
