The cakes and tarts were amazing!!! Great flavor. The front line staff - not so great. Not friendly at all. We came in with a big group from out of town. The cake was not decorated with the writing we asked for. We didn't realize this until the event. Lesson learned - check your cake before you leave the bakery. The staff was not apologetic about this at all when I called the next day. They offered a refund. I wanted a new cake so we could take pictures. It was a retirement party for someone who worked 37 years for our company. They reluctantly agreed to a new cake - but only what was in the case and ready. The new cake was smaller and when I picked it up - it had chocolate frosting with chocolate writing. They made it right- but it seemed like a huge pain for the bakery. This bakery is tucked back in the corner of the parking lot just across from the sister restaurant. I saw pics on yelp but as with any bakery each day I would imagine changes with what they are making if you are hunting for something specific, like something for special occasion, I would call ahead. I went in for chocolate chip cookies and saw they had a nice selection of quiches so I purchased the spinach and roasted tomato quiche, a potato cake and two chocolate chip cookies. I can report that I saved the potato cake and quiche for the next days breakfast. I reheated in the oven as they are provided cold. They were really delicious. The quiche crust was flaky and buttery. The quiche was loaded with spinach and flavor! The potato cake had a garlicky taste and was like a deep fried cup of mashed potatoes with a perfectly golden crust. Very good. My only bummer was the cookies were stale. :(. That's the only thing keeping this from a five star experience. The dog biscuits and the day old discount basket were a great touch. Let me start with the things that were great. I walked in and was immediately greeted by an employee who was very friendly in answering all of my questions. The food looked absolutely incredible in the cases. Very good presentation, for sure. I ordered a fruit tart (I'm a sucker for anything with pastry cream) and a mini chicken pot pie as my dinner. I also ended up grabbing one of the packages of gummies on the shelf before checking out. The fruit tart was delicious! So so good. The crust was perfectly crunchy and not stale, and all of the elements were quite flavorful and fresh. The chicken pot pie was a huge letdown, I am going to be honest. It looked so golden and crispy but the flavor was bland, and there was no gravy inside. The filling almost had the texture of mashed potatoes... and it needed more seasoning- salt and pepper at the very least. I honestly did not end up finishing this and bought something else for dinner instead. The 'gummies' were not what I expected, but not bad. They didn't really have a chewy/ gummy texture and reminded me more of those sugared fruit slice candies. The color combo made me think "peanut butter and jelly", and the purple was definitely a jam type flavor- but I have no idea what the other flavor was meant to be. It certainly didn't taste like peanut butter, almost had a pineappley flavor. The location was also a bit hard to find. 2/3 of the items I purchased did not live up to expectations- but I'm sticking with 3 stars since the employee was so friendly and the pastry item was great. read more

Extremely inflexible with birthday cakes despite their advertising on the website. It says they will accommodate you with enough notice. Their menu used to have more choices. Now they won't accommodate you even for a simple request. I won't be going there from kow on with so many new bakeries coming up. Lots of choices to choose from! They even had dog treats they make too which was super cute! The 17 year old at the counter was very people friendly and professional! We got a bunch of cookies, kids loved them. They even have a little section for "day old" goodies too instead of throwing them out which is nice! Very friendly staff for sure! Had heard about Windy Ridge Bakery, but had yet to wander in... when I did, I was pleasantly surprised at their delicious assorted baked goods in addition to the yummy soups, lasagnas and a variety of grab and go meals. This place has great food. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. They don't answer the phone even during business hours. It's impossible to get a hold of anybody and if you want them to do any kind of accommodation, they are absolutely inflexible and don't care. When I was a waitress for many years tips were 10%. Now, both prices and tips have gone up as a percentage. Tips are supposed to stay the same present because they increase as the price of food increases. Now you go to a place where you stand in line, they don't serve you, and they stare at you as they ask you for a 18 to 23% tip. Visited: Sunday, 07/06 at around 2 PM I had a really disappointing and upsetting experience at this bakery. As someone from South Africa, I know my accent can sometimes make it hard for people to understand certain words, so I usually try to help by pointing at what I want. When I was there on Sunday around 2pm, the lady assisting me was extremely rude and impatient. I was pointing at the cannoli pastry because she seemed to have trouble understanding me, and instead of helping, she snapped at me saying, "What do you want? I can't see what you're pointing at!" I tried repeating myself and kept pointing, but she only got more irritated and barked, "What are you pointing at!" It felt very dismissive and uncomfortable. What made it worse was that my caucasian friend, who did the exact same thing--pointed at a pastry--was met with friendliness and patience. She made an effort to understand him and was happy to help, which made the difference in treatment painfully obvious. At checkout, she didn't even acknowledge me. No eye contact, no thank you--nothing. It was clear I wasn't welcome there. This was my first time visiting, and sadly, it will be my last. No one should be made to feel like they don't belong, especially over something as simple as ordering a pastry. read more

Loved the pastries. We got the mixed berry crumble, the chocolate dulce tart, the fruit tart, and the snow balls (aka Russian tea cookie aka wedding cookies). Locally owned and operated bakery making both sweet and savory delights for take out with just a couple of tables at the outside patio for eat in. It's a little tough to find but the search is worth it. We were in Park City for seven nights and we went here twice for eats to take back to our condo. It took restraint not to stop here again in the morning we were headed out of town. With so few meals to eat on a vacation and so many eateries from which to choose, that we chose to go here twice suggests how good it is. PRODUCT: I took some photos (see postings) to try to illustrate the breadth of their offerings. Where some bakeries disappoint in food that looks better than it tastes, the products here tasted as delicious as they look! We enjoyed key lime tart, seasonal fruit tart, cookies and house made lasagna. Some of the sweet treats, like a dense flourless chocolate cake and macaroons, are gluten free recipes. Some items are available in the fresh case by the slice / piece but some are sold "by the whole" only. They also have 'petite' sizes of some items. Which means we could buy a couple of those to cut in half to share between two people. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and sizes. They will do special orders if you call ahead. CONVENIENCE: If you're renting a condo or house with a kitchen and feeding a crowd, they have full sized items to take home and heat, like the lasagna, chicken pot pie and soup, and also some in the freezer case which are convenient if you want to let them thaw in your vehicle while you're out exploring for the day or to tuck in a cooler for the drive home so you don't have to cook on arrival. Try some of their gorgeous quiche for breakfast. They offer both vegetarian and omnivore options in the savory dishes. COMMERCIAL FOCUS: They do the baking for a few of the high end restaurants in Park City. Many of those restaurants are connected to a single owner (who also has ownership interest in the bakery). So their key focus is that commercial enterprise, hence the absence of eat in café restaurant here. SERVICE: The woman who helped us at the counter was very friendly and we appreciated that she remembered us when we went back the second time a couple of days later, specifically what we purchased and had some new goodies to recommend. It is always nice to be treated as if one matters to a business. THIS N THAT: 1) LOCATION / NEIGHBORS: In a quasi-industrial park area, the bakery sits at the far back of a parking lot behind Windy Ridge Restaurant (they're affiliated) and Cognition winery tasting room. We spied the bakery when looking for parking for the winery. 2) PARKING: A pretty ample amount in the paved lot. 3) ACCESSIBILITY: It is shameful that whomever owns this lot has not provided ADA and Utah code accessible parking there. The Accessible spot is tucked right along side in parallel to a dumpster which would make it impossible for either the passenger or driver to get out. It is in violation of both code and law. Talk about a hidden gem. As you may see from the main pictures on the Yelp site. Bakery at Windy Ridge doesn't have significant signage. It's hidden behind the Windy Ridge restaurant with a simple awning to welcome patrons. We visited a couple years back and after our first stop my wife and I said, "we have to go back next time in Park City". So...we did and it was the first stop on our 2nd day and last day. Their croissants are some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend a stop by any time you're in Park City, it's even worth the drive from Salt Lake City if you take a good hull back. read more

Wow- we had some trouble finding this place!! Google and Apple Maps were a bit confused, so pay attention!! We stopped in for a quick breakfast, and heard from a local that this is the spot to buy a cake in Park City. We got a chocolate croissant and a plain croissant. The plain croissant was one of the best I have had!! So flaky and light. The chocolate was good as well, but the pastry wasn't as flaky as the plain. Go early!! We placed our order for THanksgiving since we would be visiting Park City for Thanksgiving. They defiantly did an awesome job at prepping the food and the desserts. We had a pecan pie, and man, oh man, was it good! We got a few sides as well. We had mashed potatoes and green beans. Both were very good. The pickup of the food was effortless and well organized. I would give this place negative 100 stars if I could. I ordered a special birthday cake for my daughter and her 15 friends who are visiting from out of town. I was told the cake would be ready at 8:00am the day of pick up both times I called When my daughter arrived, not only was the cake not written on , but she was told that the pastry person would not arrive until 10:00am. 2 hours after it was supposed to be all set. I remember a number of years past when my next door neighbor professed a love for Windy Ridge Croissants. Thus ensured the Great Winter Croissant Wars. I would get up early, slog thru wind and snow and hail and drive to the bakery. I'd knock on the back door (please don't fire anyone, Bill), and buy all the croissants they had for the day. When my neighbor cruised over to the place, he was out of luck. He would come back bitching and moaning and lo and behold, a big bag of those unbelievably authentic flaky, pastries lay on his front porch. All the full-time folks in the neighborhood discovered such curiously materialized gifts as well. It became a race to see who could get there earliest. Haha. Gosh, that was fun. Oh, yeah, tasty too! And it's still fun today. Everything in this place rocks, from the croissants, which are tough to make at altitude to the amazing quiche as well as the num-num Pot Pies which are about the best Larry has every enjoyed. The cookies and tarts are easily as awesome. Yes, they are spendy, but so is an Aston Martin, also handmade. If you want a glazed donut, try the market, but if you want the absolute best pastries and baked goods on the hill, there is no substitute. Oh, almost forgot - they make a ton of the best bread in town for most of the good restaurants here. Just do me a favor and don't buy ALL the croissants.
