We showed up and it was closed, though their hours on the doors, Google, yelp, etc stated that they should have been open. I got the small Chicken Curry Pie. I was severely disappointed. As someone who makes different curries regularly, i wanted to try this. I couldn't believe how bland and tasteless this was. On the outside, the crust was fancy looking and massive, but had no flavor. On the inside, the "curry" consisted of chicken and potatoes and barely any curry flavor, no carrots or other vegetables, spices, or gravy. They put a blob of rice on the bottom and then put the chicken and potatoes on top instead of mixing it all together prior to putting in the pie. They should leave out the rice and just fill it with and actual curry stew and more gravy. Coming in at $15.99 for this bland pie that is only 5 inches in diameter, consisted mostly of bland rice was disappointing and I do not recommend it. read more

How have I never heard of June Pie? Someone gifted us the Apple Crumble pie for Thanksgiving and it was just perfect. Many people said the best apple pie they've ever had! The crust is doughy and has a nice chew but also that classic flakiness on the outside and not too sweet! Great complement to the delicious apple filling, which is thick, prettily layered, and with the perfect amount of spice to apple to sweet ratios. The pie is so pretty in pictures but even more impressive in person and it comes in a very nice pie tin and nice box. Ours was baked already and we just warmed it up - so easy but looked and tasted like someone slaved over it for hours. I will definitely recommend them for fresh pies but only wish it was closer to SLC! read more

We stopped in to grab a savory pie and a dessert pie to enjoy. Win on the savory pie and okay on the sweet pie. A small town pie shop they offer a limited selection on weekdays. When we visited there were two sweet options and one savory option. In looking at their social media it looks like Saturday is the day for more options. The savory pie was offered as a small or a full. The sweet pie was offered as a full pie or an individual slice unless the pie isn't conducive to individual slices. The Pork Tomatillo Pie was very good and flavorful. It's packaged nicely with good instructions for baking at home. The smaller size was plenty for my husband and I to share, especially with a side salad. The crust was brushed with a butter or oil and cornmeal that made it very tasty. The inside was full of meat, salsa, corn, cheese, and seasoning. The Coconut Cream Pie was just okay. The coconut cream filing had a nice flavor, but the crust had zero flavor. It was a pale color that was definitely missing something. With more flavor and more baking on the crust this could be a good pie. Overall, I'd return for the savory pie. We have been hearing people RAVE about June Pie so I was really excited to try it out-and then quickly was VERY disappointed. The shop itself was cute, clean, and well decorated-but besides that nothing else really wowed. We tried a lemon hand pie, which honestly didn't taste like pie and was just a pile of weirdly textured mush. We also tried a slice of the banana pie-the crust was way too dense & had no flavor and the pie portion tasted almost like Flan. There were 3 women standing around doing the same exact job. Food: I ordered the chocolate cream pie, since they only have 4 pies available per day, and I thought it was just okay. The chocolate cream with the whipped cream combination is good, but nothing special. The crust was just mediocre. It seemed like they were trying to go for something different with their crust, but failed to do so. Atmosphere: Two words: limited seating. The restaurant was small with only two tables and a sofa. Tried a Corned Beef and a Leftover Turkey, both small, and were sorely disappointed. Nice crust but way too much of it. The amount of corned beef was negligible, no discernible cabbage, a few carrots and lots of potatoes. I found it! I found a pie place that is awesome and some what close to me. Utah is lacking for great pie. The crust is perfection! I don't know how they make it but mercy! Meh... I wanted to love this place. The presentation was super cute and the store front is nice. Unfortunately the pies fell short. The hand pie was almost all crust with very little filling to be found. The Peanut Butter Chocolate pie was similar, crust is very thick with no flavor, the filling was just okay. The peanut butter was spread onto the crust and it was very thin, we almost couldn't tell it was in there. I've tried June Pie on three different occasions...clearly I want them to be good and to give them a chance. But three strikes at this point so I won't be going back. The first time I stopped, we just got some hand pies to try and they were decent but nothing amazing. The crust could use a little more flavor and a little more cook time and the filling could use a little more. It was like a thin layer of jelly and no fruit in a strawberry hand pie. The second time I went, we got a slice of grapefruit pie and it was just bitter, a hazelnut chocolate hand pie that had kind of grainy filling, and a black bottom oatmeal that had way too much of the bland crust and was so dense and rich, it was hard to eat more than a couple bites. And finally, on the last visit, we tried the snack crack pie. In theory, this could be really good but the crust was sooooooo soggy and the vanilla cream could use some vanilla. All that said, I wanted it to be great and support a local business but it's not that good and pretty expensive. And the customer service seems to be a little lacking...nothing terrible but slow and not exceptionally polite. read more

My friend and I preordered our a sugar cream pie and a thanksgiving pie (a pie we've been trying to get for two months now) on Tuesday to pick it up on Saturday. When we arrived to pick them up we were informed that they over sold the thanksgiving pie. I really want to like their pie's as they are a local business. I was looking forward to their Pork Tomatillo pie. I was very disappointed with the pie. It was at least 50% crust. The crust is good but I felt like I had just ate a whole loaf of bread when I was done. The pork was good but it was very lacking in the tomatillo sauce which made it very dry. Out of the four slices we cut the pie into only 1 1/2 slices had any tomatillo sauce in it. The pie also seems to be smaller in size than other one's I have had in the past. So, I sampled the hand pies and my favorite filling, by far, was pumpkin, with lemon blueberry coming in second. The chocolate hazelnut was a bit grainy and wasn't as pleasing to my palate as the first two. The crust had good flavor, and is a bit on the heavier/denser side. You'll most likely want some tea, coffee, cocoa or a glass of milk to go along with these. That said, my nieces and mom loved them all; no hesitations. My brother thought the crusts could have been baked longer, and I'd have to agree. In the end, pumpkin and blueberry won out, for me. Some of my favorites include Banana Cream, Key Lime, all of the dinner pies, especially the Italian Deep Dish (like a Chicago style pizza in a pie crust). I have been driving to Heber for pie from June Pie for the last year. I'm surprised every time I go because they make literally the worst crust I have ever tasted. I didn't understand what tough pie crust was until I came here. Growing up, my father's exhortations not to overwork pie crust were annoying to me---because I didn't understand what he was warning against. Now I do. But I keep going because I like that I can pick up a savory pot pie to take to someone who needs dinner. And their pies with graham cracker crusts are fantastic---I'm not sure how many cranberry key lime pies I drove up for last winter, but that is an amazing pie; the regular key lime with graham cracker crust is also fantastic. I often get the hand pies---where the tough crust seems like less of a liability. They are a bit inconsistent (slightly on the side of stingy) with the filling of the hand pies. Still a nice treat to take to someone with dinner. But I'll continue going because it is easier to take a relaxing drive up the canyon than to make pie myself. I just wish they would change their crusts so I wouldn't feel like I need to apologize for the crust when I take someone one of their pies. read more

I am so annoyed by June Pie. I placed my order on Tuesday for Father's Day pickup on Saturday. They called on Saturday afternoon to say they didn't see my order and don't have my pie. They said to not blame it on them but their system. Take some responsibility as a business. They offered to replace it with a different one that they have in stock but it was not even my second choice as they were also out of that one. But there is also a $5 difference which they didn't offer to refund. I understand mistakes happen but the resolution was horrible. I like to support local small shops but in this case I feel like I would have been better off else where. We bought one of this bakery's pies at Day's Market on Canyon Road in Provo. Each pie was priced at $25.00 for one standard sized pie. The crust was awful -- not fully baked on the bottom and had clearly been overmixed in a dough mixer machine. The crust exhibited NO flakiness whatsoever, and the filling too was over-baked and dry. Very sad to have to give only two stars. I had high hopes for this place! I've been following them on Instagram for probably a year or two but never tried because of location. I picked a couple pies up from The Store in Holladay and I just wasn't impressed at all. The crust looks so thick and delicious but it turned out to be extremely thin on the bottom. The crust of a pie is usually my favorite but it was mostly salty and bland. The fillings of the pies were okay. The sour cream lemon was good but I'd much rather get the double cream lemon from Marie Callender's ‍ the sugar cream had a decent flavor but super thick, didn't care for the consistency of that one. My cousin grabbed a banana cream pie but I didn't even try that one after having the other two. These are pricey pies, super sad it wasn't as great as I'd hoped! read more
