Dish is a terrible company to use. After many, many years of being a loyal customer I learned that…read morethey will do nothing for existing customers. If their equipment is faltering, they give you a hard time trying to get them to replace their own shoddy equipment, and then they want to charge you more money. If you ask them for a deal or special offer that they are giving new customers, they won't do it. If you ask them to provide you with some type of loyalty discount they won't do it. They are way overpriced for what you get, and every time there is a storm it goes out. They nickel and dime you on their tv packages too. We had 400 channels and about 380 of them were garbage that nobody watches. Very limited channels and limited DVR, and they charge you for every TV connection separately. Plus, the actual dish is ugly to see on your roof. High speed internet is the way to go. We switched. Now through Frontier we get super-fast internet, whole house wi-fi, YouTube TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon TV, unlimited DVR, if we want to we can watch four shows at once on the same tv, can watch tv on any device, anywhere in the world, and the picture is better. Hundreds of the best channels and thousands of movies, all included. We get all that plus high speed internet for less than what we were paying Dish and with no contracts. Even when I called to cancel Dish their "executive account manager" said everything he could think of to try to retain me as a customer. Once I made it clear that we were done with them, he tried to tell me I had to go onto the roof to get the device off the dish and return it to them. I refused so then he said he would "wave the fee". I asked him to send me the boxes and labels so I can return their inside receivers to them. He said he'll send the boxes and labels to me so I can return their equipment, but I would need to pay for the boxes and shipping. What an absolute clown company. Dish sucks. They also stole $83 dollars for the time period that they were cancelled. Real low-lifes. Don't waste your money on them.

I was a Dish customer for over 14 yrs. Over the last 5 yrs or so my bill has jumped @ $50. At the…read moreend I was paying around $ 175. A month for basic 200 channels and no movie channels. I've been dissatisfied with dish for some time. With cost and losing channels. I don't think Dish couldn't provide consistent service losing 1 of my main local network channels for over month. All when a storm rolls through you would lose everything. I finally cut the cable and went to streaming. I purchased a VSEE box Plus for $389. Now I have 10+ times the channels (Over 2000) that I ever had with dish. I have local channels from all around the US most moderate size cities including Canada, Hawaii, Austral, New Mexico, Several movie channels including Cinemax, Disney, HBO, Showtime, Starz, MGM, etc. 113 sports channels NFL, MLB, NHL, MLS, NCAAF, NCAAB, Gulf, and what ever you favorite sports team might be. Football Buffalo, Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs, etc, Baseball Cubs, White Sox, Tigers, Royals, Angles. All of this at no extra chargers, So many channels to even begin as long as I have a good internet I will stay away from dish

I have received THREE different emails over 6 weeks from Optimum after being told by Retention that they had given me a small monthly discount. They then emailed me confirmation of my new monthly rate. Yet when I went to pay my bill there was no record of this new monthly bill. This has been going on since April and I finally had enough and am going to be transferring my business to AT&T. I can get 5 Ghz internet there as well as a nice channel lineup for $75 less per month. More importantly I've been a cellular customer with AT&T for 15 years and never had an issue with them keeping their word. My second to last call to Optimum was to ask for an address where I could send a letter. They didn't know their corporate address...but wanted to give me a $50 loyalty discount for the next three months. I said I didn't really care but the woman was very apologetic and really wanted to give me the discount so I accepted. I paid my bill and the local office said that there was a $50 discount. However a week later I checked my account and it showed I had a past due amount of $50. I called Customer Service yet again and they swore to me that I didn't owe the $50 and said that perhaps the computer hadn't updated the bill yet. That was 3 weeks ago and I still owe the $50 according to Optimums website. Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Optimum simply doesn't seem to care one single bit.

LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS Q - What happens AT&T when you outsource and off-shore your customer service department? A - You get a lot of pissed off customers that will flock to your competitors. I am now one of them. Despicable treatment by a group of totally untrained, uneducated, incompetent L I A R S First call 10/17 - This is where I lost 51 minutes of my life trying to explain an issue to their incoherent representatives. First Eileen who was totally useless. Then her 'supervisor', Jasmine who guaranteed me I would receive an email from someone on their tech team within 72 hours, Ticket #1-236907879796R2. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Tomorrow, it's my turn and I will be one to hit the disconnect button and terminate your services.
