I'm a senior ci on a fixed income. I have called several times to down grade my internet service with this company. They lie and tell me I can't downgrade without my bill increasing to an even higher bill. They lie and scam elderly people. This is a shame. They are no better than those scammers that call. I signed up with Charter when I moved here a year ago. They had a promo for 100 a month that gave me 100mbps internet, basic cable, DVR, and phone. I've had nothing but trouble with the services. They came to check my connection and indicated that the new DVR couldn't handle the recordings, so instead they downsized me to the old box. Now instead of 3 or more recordings at a time, I can only have 2 at one time. The internet has never been up to speed. I have tested the speed and the most I've ever gotten is 50mbps. It is only me in the household so shouldn't it be a higher speed since alot of people aren't on it at once? I haven't gotten the on demand features for about a month, plus some of the better channels give an error when tuning to them so I'm not even getting those. The technician was supposed to come today but was a no show. I called and they don't have one available-yet y'all called to confirm the appointment? I called retentions cause now my bill is going up 50 more dollars-seriously? I don't even get what I'm paying for now you want to charge me more? I was told that promos are only for new customers and basically they don't care about the current ones. I've had issues with Direct TV-scam, please avoid! I called Jackson Energy Authority and they have 300mbps but the DVR would cost me an additional 22 a month so I'd still be paying 150 a month, less channels and an instillation fee plus they say your not in a contract but it will cost you 100 if you cxl within the 12 months-that's the definition of a contract! Very disappointed in Spectrum. Ive had them in California, Hawaii, Washington and now here and until I came to Tennessee had no issues. You would think they'd want to keep their customers instead of treating them like they don't matter. read more

Zero stars. Don't make the mistake of signing up with Charter! Look at Charter's terrible reviews everywhere. Consumerist magazine (not-for-profit subsidiary of Consumer Reports) calls Charter the "worst company in America." It's no wonder Charter went bankrupt a few years ago. This sleazy firm's business practices include: - cutting your satellite cable, then insisting that customer fight with Charter's 3rd party unlicensed contractor instead of honestly owning up to their mistake and correcting it. - moving your first bill due date ahead after first bill, without prior notification (told this is a "standard" Charter procedure on 2nd bill) - insisting that customers wait 45 days (unbelievable but true) for Charter's Autopay system to take effect, then warning that double payments may occur when customer attempts to make a one-time payment prior to the interim due date (as a safety measure) - moving from CSR agents in South Carolina to the Phillipines, where they lie to customers by claiming healthy account status with zero problems and confirming Autopay sign up weeks ago, then cutting off all services including (Emergency 911) shortly thereafter, without prior notice - migrating from helpful humans to speak with or chat online (about no-service issues) to worthless automated systems - poor no-service reliability I really wanted to love Charter. Our credit history is well above 700 and we always pay bills on time. But after several serious attempts to cooperate with Charter, acting as a good customer to straighten out their billing errors, all of our attempts have been futile. I recommend that prospective customers view the 800+ complaints about Charter on another website, plus other sites, before wasting your time. Terrible Company.. I agree worst company in The US.. I had nothing but trouble with my cable and turned in my box at the office and they are still billing me each month. I've called and called customer service and each time told they would fix my bill, only to have it INCREASED!!!!! Went to the office and talked to the manager Terry who told me she would put in my credits, and call me back the next day to let me know my balance.. No credit and No call.
