When we have had internet services, it has been as expected and meets our needs; however, after installation, the person who was hired to bury the cable did something wrong and we were without internet service for six days and we have not heard from Optimum about how they plan to compensate me for this outage. If I pay for a month of service, I should get 24/7, for the entire month. That was not the case. read more

If i could give zero stars I would. I've spent over 12 hours on the phone with Customer Service and Retention since 4/4/26. I have received THREE different emails over 6 weeks from Optimum after being told by Retention that they had given me a small monthly discount. They then emailed me confirmation of my new monthly rate. Yet when I went to pay my bill there was no record of this new monthly bill. This has been going on since April and I finally had enough and am going to be transferring my business to AT&T. I can get 5 Ghz internet there as well as a nice channel lineup for $75 less per month. More importantly I've been a cellular customer with AT&T for 15 years and never had an issue with them keeping their word. My second to last call to Optimum was to ask for an address where I could send a letter. They didn't know their corporate address...but wanted to give me a $50 loyalty discount for the next three months. I said I didn't really care but the woman was very apologetic and really wanted to give me the discount so I accepted. I paid my bill and the local office said that there was a $50 discount. However a week later I checked my account and it showed I had a past due amount of $50. I called Customer Service yet again and they swore to me that I didn't owe the $50 and said that perhaps the computer hadn't updated the bill yet. That was 3 weeks ago and I still owe the $50 according to Optimums website. Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Optimum simply doesn't seem to care one single bit. read more

Would give you a half a fucking star if not a quarter of a star because customer service is not there suit anymore they want everything to be online won't how are you supposed to pay your online bill through the online app if you don't have Internet access and your ran out or you got the phone bill through them your Internet service and shit's been cut off. How are you supposed to pay that through the app on someone else's phone seems a little intuitive if I do say so myself but overall really shitty ass customer service motherfuckers don't wanna do their job. read more

Definitely avoid this company at all costs the absolute WORST they scam u outta money give u the run around and the internet is nothing less than shoddy spotty and terrible. Go find a different internet provider do yourself and your tv a favor read more

probably the worst company in the world my cable and internet gets jacked up in price this time of year. First I could nt find a working number to called them I had to go to the office to get the number Retention said they lowered my price. No email to confirm I went to the office, Will I get a credit on my next bill for this jacked up bill they said I dont know All the customer service is interested in is to get you to switch cell phone service providers read more

Called to cancel turned in equipment and they say I will be billed till the next cycle. They keep raising my bill. Latest increase was almost $40 after 16 years this is how they treat someone. Always offering to add a service to help lower your bill. Then a few months later they raise the price again with no warning. Their download and upload speeds are far less than other providers also. Do not use optimum ever. read more

Bill goes up continuously. Call on a regular basis to get it decreased. Then is goes back up. I am supposed to be on Optimum's 500 Mbps internet plan, but I am getting anywhere from 7-20 Mbps. Yes, 7-20. If you're thinking of getting a new install, don't. read more

I applied for and received the Federal Governments Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) which gave me the $30/monthly deductable on my internet account with Suddenlink in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The first month was great--I received my discount without a hitch....however, the thrill was short-lived. Not only was the discount dropped off the very next month, but another $8.52 was tacked on for good measure!!!!! Now that Suddenlink has gone "Optimum", maybe the only true optimism is felt by this company who is pretty sure they can screw over the little guy at every turn!!! Terribly poor internet service and overcharges galore! I actually remember a time when Suddenlink was the best, several years ago. Now they are the WORST of the WORST!! read more

New name but still the same scumbag company as they were when they called themselves Suddenlink. We endured years of continually getting screwed price wise for unreliable service - things like getting charged for equipment that was never installed and/or returned, and optional insurance that we expressly told them we didn't want and never authorized, and so on, simply because we didn't have any viable practical alternatives until recently. Numerous contacts with customer service trying to get billing changed/corrected were a total waste of time. Finally good alternate providers have become available, and we left skid marks getting away from Optimum/Suddenlink so fast. The new providers (both home and business accounts) have been great. We have refused to pay our last Optimum bill because they would not correct the billing, which would have resulted in them owing us. So they turned our past due accounts over to a debt collection service, which is fine - easy to tell them you dispute the charge and then ignore any contact after that, and no hits to our credit score (still over 800). So now even though our recent past account is in collections from our refusal to pay, not to mention a log of MANY customer service contacts complaining of their unethical tactics and improper charges, they send an employee (Stacy Mann) door to door soliciting our business back, leaving giant door tags behind when we didn't answer. I'm sure all the vandals and thieves thank you Stacy for taking the time to flag all the buildings that are safe for them to hit. It's really nice of you to take the time to do that for them even in cases when you know (or should know) that you have absolutely zero chance of doing business again with that location - not to mention adding to the environmental detriment by leaving unwanted litter behind. So for anyone considering Optimum, do yourself a favor and don't get fooled by any fake low price offers - our many years of experience is they will add unauthorized options/charges, you will spend hrs and hrs dealing with their customer service that will be a total waste, and their service is unreliable. You you will be hounded with constant up sell attempts no matter how hard you try to opt out. For example, we used to have Voip phone service, but dropped it simply because we couldn't get Optimum/Suddenlink to stop the constant upsell attempt robocalls. One account we switched to RightFiber (Ritter) and the other we switched to T-mobile Home Internet. Both have been great and soooo much better than Optimum - no unexpected charges, no annoying upsell contacts, much more reliable service, and ethical conduct. We literally wouldn't do business with Optimum again even if they offered it to us for free. read more

I called to cancel my internet service and they had me on the phone for almost an hour trying to find out why. Once I told them I switched service providers due to an holiday bundle promotion I then they tried talking me out of switching. They definitely went out of their way to be rude and waste my time in hopes I would just hang up and say forget about it. read more

It cost too much for what we receive. I called to cancel and was on the phone for an hour. After talking to three people I was told I cannot cancel until my billing cycle is up. this means I have to pay for 10 days that I won't use. I have already started with my new company for almost half the cost. read more

Optimum has horrible Internet service and even worse business communication. I called on the 15th of the month to have my services disconnected, they put my services as pending because, since I had my services hooked up on the 8th of the month, they said they will not shut it off till the following month on the 8th. Therefore, I had to pay for 3 weeks of use I was not even using their services. I'm not in a contract with them, they're just horrible and very very very poor customer service. I will put my money to where I get the services I deserve. Don't use optimum people! They will rip you off. read more

Called about service. No help at all. Too many other options. Go elsewhere. I am. Grrr

This piece of crap company charges way to much for unreliable service. I've had to walk 2 miles having chest pains because of their lousy service. Their service it's worth the over charged price that you have to pay. I will be looking for something else. I wouldn't even give it one star. read more

Name change didn't help this crap company. We were customers for years never missed a payment. Found out there are much better service providers in the area for 1/2 the price. Dropped all equipment off to office and received a receipt showing 0 balance 3-weeks later get a bill for $378.00. I heard this would happen. My advice do not sign up for anything with Optimum!!!! read more

If you have any other option I suggest using it. This place makes the DMV seem like an all experience paid carnival cruse. I can not wait until Craighead electric starts providing internet service. I have called 20 times and have recived 26 diffrent answers. I have the 1 gig internet service, but I am only getting 79 mbps on a speed test. Sudden link, that is almost 10x slower than what I have paid for. Your call center help/support should come in english... read more

Summary: When you have a virtual monopoly, you can screw customers at will. One of the big problems today with internet service is that a company can come into a town, get a virtual monopoly over service and then shaft customers in any way possible. Suddenlink appears to be one of those companies like you see on that episode of South Park where they really enjoy sticking it to their customers. I had a tier of internet that was higher than I realized I needed for my job that I work from home. In an effort to save some money, I called and asked the operator to lower me to the next package. I checked my online account and noticed that there was no order there to change it; so I placed an online order and received a confirmation on screen that it would be taken care of within two business days. Then I get my bill today and find out not that not only did they not make the change, but my account was scrubbed of any references to the change! And I'm talking serious scrubbing...not only was the online order not referenced but when I contacted customer service today they said they had no record of my call three weeks ago! So what can I do? Yes, I know, I should have print screened when I placed the online order. I'll take that wrap for not doing that to prove the order was placed. It's sad that we're at the point you have to take screen captures of things to protect yourself against incidents like this, but that's the world we live in, I guess. Now, I should note the guy I spoke to today regarding the incident was very professional...I just know he's a call center dude who can't do anything about it. He changed my account and gave me a $25 credit to avoid the "upgrade charge". I know that's the length of what he could do and I did appreciate that, so "John", wherever you are, thanks for what you could do. I'll be screen capturing and documenting every encounter with Suddenlink from now on. Bottom line: If you don't need super high speed internet at your house, look elsewhere. If you do, then just pray they don't do this to you. read more

Wish I could give a zero star rating because if I could I definitely would, our internet is down and we tried multiple times to get help, but they just keep randomly putting us on hold and a few minutes later they hang up for no reason. I have countless other stories about similar things that have happened just with sudden-link. We have had a terrible experience with sudden link, if there is any other option in your area, do not pick sudden link. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. This place is a joke the most unprofessional rude staff who honestly could care less if your problem gets resolved or not. Bought a phone through them my bill goes up on my internet like they said it would and 2 months later my phone gets shutoff. During the time it was working I couldn't even call family who were on the same plan. They never fixed that issue nor did they help me today. Once again I had to figure things out myself, luckily I have some education regarding electronics but imagine an elderly person being treated that way. They wouldn't know what to do and probably would shop elsewhere as will I in the future. read more

I had an issue with the cable. They sent a repair guy who is an independent contractor who has NO business doing anything with the cable! I pay a very high price for the services I am supposed to receive. So now I do NOT get to watch television thanks to the lousy support! I have another appointment scheduled tomorrow between 2 and 4 and I am going to make sure that this person knows how to do his job and to do it correctly and explain it to me before he leaves so that I can get to on Demand if I want to which I was NOT able to do which was the main reason I called! Now thanks to this repair guy today I do NOT get to watch television tonight or watch the news in the morning. Thank you Suddenlink for having such a person who has NO business working for your company! read more

The worst EVER! I've been a Suddenlink customer for 19 years and they have gotten worse and worse. I've been without cable or Wifi for 3 days and when I call to report the outage, the outsourced customer service staff in India refuses to listen to me and keeps wanting to send a tech to my house. NOOO!! It's the whole neighborhood. To make matters worse, you know I'll pay for a full month of srvc even though I didn't get it. But, they can treat us like this, as they are the only internet provider in my area. read more

This is the far and away, the worst company I have ever worked with. Lies and trickery to try to increase your bill and refuse to answer the phones. Disgusting. I will not pay them another dime. read more

Suddenlink is one of the worst in customer service. Internet is going down numerous times a day. It takes forever for a person to answer the phone, then they act like they're doing you a favor by talking to you. The cost is outrageous especially for the lack of quality service. I would never recommend this company. It is horrible. It is not reliable! We need more options. We shouldn't have to tolerate this. read more

On the worst day possible my internet is out. In the midst of a pandemic in which my kids and I are at home and trying to relax we can't watch Netflix, Disney plus, or YouTube. Always having issues with suddenlink. And yet here we are, continuing to pay the bill!! read more

This place is an absolute scam. I have been waiting on a refund for them charging my account after disconnecting my services, they for some idiotic reason decided to credit my non-active account for my refund??? Like please explain how that makes any sense in the first place?? Then I have now had to call back for the refund 7 times now, was told to wait 2 business days to see the money in my account 4 of those times, then told to wait 5 business days after calling back and still not seeing the refund 2 times after that. And then today again after waiting the required 5 days I called back and get told to wait another 10 for my refund. I repeat DO NOT and i mean DO NOT use suddenlink for internet services literally anywhere else for internet would be better than this scam. and apparently im not the first one to have this problem either. Not to mention the fact you have to spend 10 minutes on the phone with an operator to even be able to speak to a human. If I still lived there i would boycott this place. read more

Terrible customer service. I've been a customer since 2018. Same address, same bank account. Every month my payment is automatically taken and I get an email. This morning my internet didn't work, it happens. I did the trouble shooting guide. Then looked up my account to get a telephone number and saw a late payment issue. I made the payment, then called customer service to find out why it was not taken automatically. I was told it didn't show I was signed up for that. I was told there was no records of the fact that for years my payments have only been made by automatic electronic debit. What company doesn't have payment records? Internet still isn't back on despite being "guaranteed" by rep it would be on in 15 minutes. But that's also the same rep that kept saying the problem was when people move it disrupts services. I told him multiple times I haven't even moved. I still have the same address, maybe they don't keep records of where they send your bill to either. read more

no customer service ! when the reps trasfer you to another dept. they just disconnect you...lousy service @ a very high price. will never have any of their services again ! read more

Suddenlink svc sucks. Wifi not worked correctly since they hooked it up nearly a year ago. They want to charge me a svc fee for their tech to come back and correct their faulty installation. I will be disconnecting their svc shortly. I would not advise anyone to use any of their svs. Too many other options available. Their svc does truly suck. read more
