A couple of days later the unit stopped cooling again, so I called. Again, they came out that day and found that a part on the unit had gone bad. He replaced it right then and there and did NOT charge me for a second device call. They were friendly and professional. And compared to some others I've dealt with, pretty fast.

Was told he "had a job the next morning but would be there around 9-10am" I requested he call me first so I could warn her he was coming. I explained to him the issue and gave him her address. The next day, there was no call to say he would be late. No call to cancel. No call period. Great job! I know electricians and plumbers and the lot have the unfortunate reputation of being unreliable but this goes beyond that. This is not knowing how to run a business or be a business owner. Even if your business is small and unsuccessful like this one, you should still treat the customer with decency and respect. I am very understanding and a phone call to cancel would have been completely acceptable...but being incompetent in business management is unacceptable and embarrassing on your part. Maybe a breaker box is not top priority to you but to a paying 94 year old customer without electricity or heat it is very important. Try harder.
