Despicable treatment by a group of totally untrained, uneducated, incompetent L I A R S First call 10/17 - This is where I lost 51 minutes of my life trying to explain an issue to their incoherent representatives. First Eileen who was totally useless. Then her 'supervisor', Jasmine who guaranteed me I would receive an email from someone on their tech team within 72 hours, Ticket #1-236907879796R2. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Tomorrow, it's my turn and I will be one to hit the disconnect button and terminate your services. read more

The absolute worst service- ever!!! The Genie 2 system freezes up frequently and will not rewind to the beginning of a program, as promised it would. They say our internet is too slow. We have AT&T internet. AT&T says we have the fastest speed available. AT&T owns both AT&T and Directv so we are screwed!! DON'T FALL FOR IT!!! I'm filing a complaint with the FCC. I have tried numerous times to get them to fix this. No such luck. read more

I refused to select a rating as there is not one low enough, but the system forced me to. I wished I could have selected something less than a 1 star. I spent an hour on the phone Thursday 3/1 to purchase new service and was assured I would have installation on for Friday 3/2. No call no show on Friday. Spent another hour and fourty five minutes on the phone Friday 3/2 and was promised a technician would be at my house Saturday morning 3/3 between 9 & 11. Guess what Saturday morning has come and gone and no technician. Another hour on the phone Saturday with no resolution. I cannot believe it's this hard do give a company my business & money! Like many others, I was promised $95 per month for DirecTV and internet combined and the bills ranged from $155 to $230 every month. I spent at least 90 minutes every single month getting it near what I was promised. Every month they promise that it is fixed and will be correct the next month and it never was. Every month they tell me they can see next months bill and it is correct but it wasn't. This month I did it three times and it never got correct. Now they are charging me $345 to terminate the contract even though it was DirecTV that did not honor the contract!!!!! I am sooooo frustrated!!!!! I wish there was a zero star rating because that's what I would give them. They might be even worse than Sprint phones were 10 years ago and that's saying a lot. And like Sprint, the guy I talked to to cancel didn't speak English very well. I very strongly recommend you to stay away from DirecTV. I have had DirecTV before and don't remember having these issues so I suspect the issue is ATT. ATT's internet was also terrible. read more

This is a terrible TV provider. They tricked us into a long term contract, and then when we wanted out charged us for packages we didn't have to begin with. We NEVER even used the service but have to pay over $500 in cancellation and fees. I wish they would go out of business. They are so worried about sales they don't care about the customers. We upgraded to the Genie 2 system because they said the old system was the problem, that could not be further from the truth. I am stuck in a contract that once it ends look out Dish here I come! I live in the county so we don't have a lot of choices but Directv is the wrong choice. Customer service is always so nice and courteous on the phone but nothing ever gets resolved. The system itself is horrible, especially for the amount of money I am spending. If you have other options, please explore them before choosing this company. You will regret it. read more
