This is the only Mexican restaurant we go to, nobody else we tried is better. Thursday is margaritas on special day, they are a few bucks less. They have Luz on the tableside guacamole cart, making it just how you want it. Their frijoles are superb, so much that we skip the rice and say double frijoles, no arroz! They have many many dishes, but we usually stick with tacos or tostadas as that is our favorite. Their chicken is just the best around flavored very well. Many of the waiters have been here for years. The only ding I would give them is that the lights could be a little less bright for a better atmosphere, but it is decorated very nicely. read more

Checked out this okay Mexican restaurant in Aurora. It may look like another one of those shady strip mall ones but it's actually better. Rito's is bigger than it looks. For sure there's enough room for a fiesta. The prices are okay especially when there's a special. Basically the menu has about what you expect. It's got a lot of alcoholic beverages including of course margaritas. The food is mostly things like burritos and tacos. Also there's some other good finds. It's about $9 for a Paloma. This is a classic with lime, pop, and tequila. It's about $9 for the Mexican Nachos. Kind of a redundant name but whatever. Actually just nachos topped with guacamole, refried beans, and also sour cream which I left off. This was enough for us to munch on. As for entrees they have quite a bit. There's also seafood if not wanting the usual beef or chicken in burritos, tacos, and others. Got to say it was better than expected. It's closed Mondays. Common sense could be improved. I ordered a combination plate (which was fine) alongside a flauta kids meal for pick up. Received this flauta that had more condiments than flauta. And instead of them putting condiments separately they throw it on top. So here I am on lunch struggling to eat my flauta and making a mess because I can't pick it up by hand, tried using utensils and it falls apart. Such a waste of money and time. Called to see what could be done and was told I didn't order it plain and that was it. No other options...definitely my last time ordering pick up or delivery. Rito's, I've heard, is amazing. Their guacamole and sangria, yes! Everything else seemed like IF I grew up with this place, I'd have a different opinion than if my first time walking in was Friday. There's slots in the back that are annoying distracting. There's giant signs everywhere featuring menu items and also a multi page menu. We've been here a couple of times sometimes with friends and often times just a family dinner. The first thing we ordered are their margaritas. It was made fresh that I ordered another one! I love steak tacos so that's what I always ordered, my daughter and husband both had burrito. The restaurant was busy as it was Friday night but our server was always checking in to see how we are doing. Some of the tables are a bit wobbly already but it didn't bother us we just requested to be transferred to the other side of the restaurant. For starters I smashed 5 tiny bugs on the table. I let the waiter know about it and he just shrugged and smiled. Should have left right then and there. My friend ordered a burger and fries and the fries looked overcooked and were soggy. She asked for a new order but they declined. 2 out of the 3 of us dining had stomach issues later. Been here 3 times. Food was never great, but edible. The second time we came we got the best guacamole I've ever had in my life from the girl with the guac cart. I was craving it again so we decided to come back on New Year's Eve. We order guacamole. It was totally different guacamole. Pre-made, no jalapeños and had the texture of avocado mousse. Ok not off to a great start but edible. I ordered an original flavor margarita. It was the most vile margarita/drink/alcohol beverage, I've ever tasted in my life. The menus say these are the best margaritas in town and I'm terrified to know what they are comparing them to; because it was horrifying. The last time we were here another customer at the bar was saying she mixes another liquor into it because she doesn't like the flavor of them either; but I always like to try things for myself before judgement. Such a bad idea. The margarita mix is nothing like I've ever tasted before. I ordered a taco salad with shrimp. The server told me the shrimp would be an up charge. Totally normal so I said okay. The taco salad comes out, not only is it tiny but it is disgusting. Literally just full of shredded lettuce and dripping wet refried beans. There were maybe 5 tiny shrimp in it. The taco shell was stale and flavor was off. I have eaten a lot of taco salads in my life, and have never had a bad one, let alone one that was this disgusting. Churro dessert was good, but then we get the check and see that our server has charged us $20 for shrimp fajitas. The online menu prices do not match the in restaurant prices. So what I thought would be an 10ish dollar taco salad, jumps to $13 dollars, then jumps to $20 when we get our check. We asked him about it and he said "sorry that's what they told me to do". I was not in the mood to argue, just decided then and there we will not return. Fast forward to the middle of the night I wake up with horrible stomach cramps. Don't bother to come here. It is quite bad. The margarita was good but the food is awful and they took a long time considering only three tables, one of which was served when we arrived. I ordered a pork burrito with rice and beans. The beans tasted bland like out of a can. The rice was bland too. But the burrito was gross. Eighty percent was lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. There was a thin layer of pork which included a sauce and onions. The meat tasted sweet with cinnamon or similar. Yuck! It felt like a sour cream bag as soon as I tried to hold it. My wife's fajitas were slightly better but the steak tasted cheap, rubbery, and sweet too. Yuck They ended up charging me an extra $1.30 or so saying pork and steak are extra, meaning anything but chicken is extra. What misers, considering the portion. I'd give this place a 2.5-3 stars. You do get a decent amount of food for the price, but the quality of the food is mediocre. I'm not sure if it's because we did take out or not. Maybe the food is better if you dine in. Granted, we live about 5 minutes from the place, so it's not like we had such a far drive that the food should have been cold. We also ordered the flan with rum. Delicious taste, but such absolute terrible to-go packaging. It was placed in a styrofoam box and leaked everywhere in the bag. Again. The amount of food is decent. When we first started visiting Rito's, it was amazing. The staff, food, atmosphere, they were great. We used to dine in a lot. It had been a long time since we've been, since before 2020. I decided to place a pickup order tonight. I ordered a Mega Burrito and a chicken enchilada. Firstly, I asked the person on the phone to please not put the beans inside the Mega Burrito. She said something like, "So you want a double portion of beans on the side?". I said yes, and she said then they couldn't give me rice. I was confused, so I asked what she meant. She never gave any good answer. So if I wanted the beans I paid for from within the burrito simply scooped onto the tray, vs inside, they couldn't give me the rice I paid for. So I ended up just saying no beans. So basically they stole that portion's cost from me for no valid reason. It definitely matters as this wasn't an a la carte order, so they billed me a couple bucks for the sides. The point of ordering the Mega version of the burrito is that it comes with guacamole and sour cream inside, which both were missing. So out of 7 ingredients (steak, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, and beans), I'm now short changed 3 of them. This effectively makes the burrito a Baby Burrito, which costs a little over two dollars less. This costed $12.35 + tax, which is way overpriced. Next, the enchilada. Inside the takeout container was a sorry, sad, luke warm chicken enchilada, a little pile of shredded lettuce, and a couple of diced tomato pieces. No sauce and soggy. That was somewhere in the neighborhood of $4 - $5. Definitely overpriced. All in all, for the quality of the items received, it should have costed less than half of the total ($17.21). I'm sorry to say that something has changed over at Rito's, and we will not ever be going back again. read more

This was hands down the best food and service. The mole was unreal. My son said it was the best Mexican food he's had. We had tableside guacamole which was so smooth and silky. So good. Our server was so awesome and the food came fast. We have found our new favorite spot! ***Edit*** I love this place for eat in. But I won't order delivery (grub hub) again. I ordered the same guacamole that I did when I sat in and it was half the size and no where near as good. This time I ordered the chicken tacos and the not only fell apart but they were bland and dry. I asked for lime slices and those were no where in my bags.
