Update* 3.5 stars. The owner of the company, Bill, reached out to me. He apologized and took full responsibility for the quality of work. He sent out someone he trusted to fix everything and called to check on how things went after they left. Bill is a genuine and honest man, who stands behind the work of his company. It is apparent that the company's reputation is important to him I appreciate that he remedied the situation by ensuring the work was done right and he even reimbursed me for the work and windows. I am now pleased with my windows. I'm hoping that my initial experience was the exception to how things normally are done with this company. If you use Rite Window you can be assured that if things are not done correctly, you will be listened to as a client and the situation made right. read more

If I could give this company ZERO STARS I would.I asked for an estimate on some replacement doors & windows & they sent out a guy who was sweating profusely when I opened my door & was not wearing a mask. He didn't appear to have one with him either & then said he forgot it but that he wasn't sick so reluctantly I allowed him in. He took measurements & I kept a distance, then he pulled out an iPad & started giving me a very lengthy, in depth sales pitch. He suddenly burst into a fit of spastic coughing to the point he was gagging & turning blue so I handed him a water & put on my N95. I asked him if he knew why he was coughing & he said "I have an infection in my esophagus". He continued to cough violently in my face & after several minutes offered to put on a mask, producing one from his pocket! I told him that I'm scheduled for surgery & cannot get sick or they will cancel it then I asked him to skip the sales pitch & get to the estimate at which point he told me "the quality is reflected in the the price you're about to see" then proceeded to show me $10,000.00 for ONE exterior door with install. I told him I'm sorry but that's not remotely close to within my budget & attempted to close the exchange & get him out of my house. He continued the sales pitch when I finally interrupted & said we have dinner plans & need to leave now. He continued to cough while packing up his stuff & finally left. Then to add insult to injury, the company called a few days later in attempt to CONTINUE this ridiculous sales pitch when I interrupted & explained in great detail what transpired at my home with their sales rep. The woman explained that their people don't wear a mask unless the homeowner insists. I asked her what her company policy was on sending SICK employees into customer homes & she said they can't stop work over a cough. So it's been a few days since I had their employee hacking in my face & I woke up yesterday with a fever & symptoms. I have been isolated in my home with exception of going to the market WEARING an N95 in preparation for my major surgery & the ONLY person outside my home I've had close contact with is the Rite Window guy & he was CLEARLY UNWELL. My CoVid PCR is POSITIVE & my surgery is now being postponed after MONTHS of preparation & weeks of liquid diet because of this company. Not only are they ridiculously overpriced, they are unbelievably inconsiderate to their potential customers as well. I'm seriously considering a law suit. read more

My husband and I purchased 10 windows through Rite Window. We had great experience with sales man it was nice to feel like we weren't just getting the run of the mill sales pitch. The product themselves are great, we noticed a different with the draft and noise level immediately! They really took their time installing and I believe this was a worthwhile investment. We had a few issues with a missing window and installation time frame but Bill the owner reached out to me personally and did everything in his power to fix these issues. It was stressful and frustrating at the time but We really appreciate the dedication to his company and would much rather support a local business than some huge industry power house. We also loved that they had an 18 month no interest financing option which was really nice as we underestimated how pricey windows can be! Update (hence the drop in stars) *we now have a window that is leaking and causing damage to our wood in our kitchen* they came out two weeks later and put some foam in but the water damage on the window stayed! The biggest problem was that yelp reviews were the only way I got prompt service! Again, not a bad company maybe we just had super bad luck this go round. read more

If I could give 6 stars I would! Our experience started with the install which was clean, quiet, efficient and seamless! No internal woodwork needed or external siding work needed afterwards! Then, I just today (years later) called for some damaged screens and a sash. We cannot say enough about our recent experience with Rite Window & because of it, we FINALLY decided to join YELP so we could share it with others. If you prefer a short & concise review, here is my review: Rite Window was professional from beginning to end, provided excellent quality & workmanship, had superior customer service & last but not least, gave us the best price (by far!!). If you prefer a longer in-depth review here is my husband's: My wife & I both agreed\, Marco, our sales person from Rite Window is THE best sales person we have ever encountered. Marco, in a nutshell is the least aggressive, friendliest, & most professional sales person anyone could hope to meet. My wife generally doesn't do well with sales people/pitches & I usually do most of the negotiating but with Marco she immediately felt at ease. I tend to be pragmatic & understand a sales person's role as well as their tactics. However, Marco was truly different. He was relaxed,genuinely friendly, not at all pushy, yet very knowledgeable. Marco explained his company & products as well as our options in a very clear manner without trying to confuse us & answered all our questions. By sharing with us all our options & pricing, Marco allowed us to make the choice that fit our budget & yet gave us the look & quality we had hoped for. Marco let us know how quickly the factory would manufacture our custom windows & an approximate date of the install. The best part: Marco said to let him know if & when we were ready to go with Rite Window without pressuring us to commit immediately. Equally appreciated by both of us there weren't any price tactics--he simply said we had Rite Window's best prices & hoped we would go with them--no pressure on us to sign right away, etc. We REALLY liked that. We had two additional well known major window companies come & I'll just comment that one of the sales rep was going into the second hour of his visit when I politely told him I had to eat dinner---however, before he left he lowered the price for the 2nd time if we would sign that night---talk about putting pressure on your customers. We could not have appreciated Marco anymore at that specific moment. I should also add this salesperson's second quote was not close to Rite Window's price---I remember thinking what a joke & what a waste of time! After dealing with the other two companies, the decision to choose Rite Window was a pretty easy one. Marco came by for the paperwork & details of install date etc. John from the warehouse was super, calling me ahead of the install to confirm when the windows arrived from the factory & the arrival time of the install crew. I was able to work at home that day while the installation was completed. Jack, in charge of his installation crew, was friendly & professional, explained the process & quickly got to work with his crew and by the afternoon the entire job was complete! The work was excellent, the windows looked great AND they cleaned up inside & out--sweeping & cleaning all scraps. Jack explained the work which was done, the window mechanisms & could not have been any nicer. Nancy & I were thrilled with our new windows. Marco & John called us later that day to make sure we were completely satisfied & if we had any issues or questions. I realize this review is a bit lengthy but we had heard not so pleasant experiences regarding window replacement companies so I really wanted to make an effort to let folks know our overall experience with Rite Window. I remembered at one point as we waited for the window installation, we thought what if our sales person Marco was great but the actual installation or quality of windows isn't? Now nearly two months after our installation, we can say we are very happy with the results! Rite Window came out to inspect the damage. Pulled apart the window frames and left parts of it lying on the bed! Then they left without an update or a see you later or a good-bye. You've heard their commercials on the radio. They aren't the cheapest, and they will tell you that, but they also aren't the most expensive. I went with them knowing I would pay more instead of the other, cheaper window company I normally use because I promised Rite Window I would consider them the next time I needed windows as thanks for them handling a customer service issue. I kept my promise and used them to replace five larger-sized windows. The Rite Window install was on time and completed in 1 day unlike that other window company I used who always messed up the measurements every time without exception, having to return again 6 weeks later for the install. Anywho, my Rite Windows look nice and the casements operate flawlessly and close up tight. The only change I would make if I could is how the screens attach, but that's just me and is certainly not a deal breaker. I encountered several issues after my Rite Window install. Bill, the co-owner, emailed me and eventually called me. We had a very lengthy, frank (but respectful) discussion reviewing the issues in detail. One turned out normal and was thus a non-issue, which I would have known had their Factory Rep got back to me a year ago as he had promised to do. Bill sincerely apologized for that and said he would speak to his Rep. Bill is sending someone out to evaluate the second issue (which the Rep was also supposed to get back to me on a year ago) to see how best to resolve it. I'm supposed to be contacted within the next few days. The third and most important issue, unrelated to the others, appears not to be a fault of the install or the windows as I originally thought (and had been lead to believe by one contractor). Despite that, Bill offered me a full refund so I could use some of those funds to try to address the problem. Maybe I should have accepted it but I felt a full refund was over the top and I didn't want to take advantage of his generosity, so we agreed to a partial refund, about 1/3, which was still very generous on Bill's part. To be clear, the partial refund was not contingent upon me leaving a favorable review. There is certainly no lack of choice when it comes to windows. Window companies seem to be popping up every week...companies that have supposedly been around forever, yet I never heard of them before. My guess is they'll swoop in, try to make as much money as they can, and then disappear just as quickly. Besides longevity and name recognition, Rite has an excellent reputation. They stand behind their product and provide superior customer service, something many companies lack today. If you are in need of windows, you should allow Rite Window to at least give you a quote. If you go with them, know you will be getting great windows expertly installed by their own workers and they will take good care of you after the sale and after the install. Very uneducated sales staff regarding old houses and especially old compromised windows. They tried to tell me all I needed was their window insert, they mocked me about using the term insert, and they poked at the frames w a putty knife to show that the frames were fine. After not hiring rite window and getting a carpenter we realized how much damage could not be seen unless the window was out of the frame. Rite window insisted there was nothing to worry about. Advise: if u have an old house and suspect window frame damage and rot - don't call these guys unless you enjoy being misled. read more

Here's another update. After my previous Yelp update, I also filed a BBB complaint. I will say the company owner, Bill Wightman, became involved and was extremely concerned about my negative experience. He made several attempts to contact me, but due to my frustration, I ignored his calls. Mr. Wightman was persistant and I eventually spoke with him last week. He was genuine, apologized for the negative experience and offered to reimburse me for the window repair as well as all the aggravation I expereinced. By the end of the conversation, I had a better opinion of Rite Windows. I did receive the check yesterday and wanted to update my Yelp review as well as the star rating to 4 based on Bill Wightman's concern for customer satisfaction. While I was happy with Rite Window's service and responsiveness, I was dismayed to find after the installation that the windows installed noticeably reduce the view from my home due to the thick window frames of their windows. There is now less glass area and more white space visible than I had with my previous windows. I feel that, especially considering my view, this should have been pointed out by the salesman, but of course I'm sure it was deliberately not pointed out in order not to lose the sale. I feel this to be a somewhat deceptive business practice. The replacement windows' glass area is significantly and quite noticeably smaller. If you're considering Rite Window, please be sure you take into account the glass-to-frame area of their windows and be sure to press the sales person on this point. read more

While I understand that there are hiccups trying to do work in the world of COVID-19, I respectfully suggest that communication with customers be greatly improved. Not only are they great Windows but I can't say enough good about the crew that did the instillation, Jack, Tom, Pete, and Larry who came back because of a minor issue. They were extremely friendly and professional believe me I have dealt with a lot of contractors in my life and the guys were the best. we have used Rite Window's services for replacement windows and entry doors during the past several years and have been very pleased each time, so it made sense to call them for replacement of our 30 year old roof. Very poor workmanship and nobody seems to want to take ownership of it , come see it, or correct it the way it should be. Three layers of trim before you got the right one. Just had our whole house of windows replaced. Marco was our salesman, he was the most knowledgeable window and roofing expert we came across on all quotes we got - he was no pressure and very relaxed. I never thought I'd be excited about windows or a roof until I saw his presentations. Bob and Tom were who we had install our windows, they were nice, professional, and did an amazing job with the install as well as the cleanup. Their attention to detail was more than we ever expected. They were so nice and worked so hard we got them lunch both days and tipped them. We would recommend Marco, Bob, Tom and Rite Window to everyone. When I signed the contract to install 13 windows in my home, I was told the installation would happen in November. November came and went without hearing anything from the company. Then in December I finally got a call and scheduled the installation for the week of Christmas. I took the days off work and removed all the window blinds and moved all the furniture away from the windows as instructed. The morning the work was supposed to begin, I got a call saying one of the workers wasn't feeling well and the work would have to be rescheduled. I was unhappy that Rite Window didn't have a backup plan for a sick worker and opted to bump my installation to the next week without any guarantee that they would show up. They told me that someone would call me after the work was finished and offer me compensation for missing the timeline on my project. It has been over a month since the work was done and I still haven't heard from them. I called a few days ago and left a message, but nobody has called me back. I am disappointed in the customer service but I am happy with the quality of the windows and the installation. The installers were professional and did a great job putting them in. A week after I posted this review, Rite Window contacted me and offered me a reasonable compensation for my list time. Thank you for making it right. read more

Recently had five windows replaced in my upstairs bedrooms. The initial consult was informative, maybe a little too long but the sales pitch was validated in the workmanship. The company kept me informed of the order and timeframe for installation. My installation was confirmed 48 hours prior to delivery date. The gentleman who installed my windows was on time; no waiting or wondering. He installed the windows in a timely fashion and cleaned up after the installation was complete. I'll try to make this as short and as possible, if possible? It all starts in November of 20 when the salesman came to our home to give us an estimate for 19 windows, by the way the salesman was great. The installation date was 4 of 21, Shane the lead guy and his crew were great, quick and clean even though they were about to leave without cocking numerous windows, but once I pointed it out they did take care of it. As of August of 21 I still have not signed off on the project because the project was not complete to our satisfaction and surprisingly they told the finance company that the job was complete so they would get their money. After getting four estimates we decided to go with right windows because of the 50-year transferable warranty even though they were overpriced. From a mis-measured window, to a slider screen not showing up, to black Windows being Mis painted, crooked grid in between window panes, window bottom gasket missing, leaving all 19 windows dirty with fingerprints and film which I myself had to wash all inside and out, removing a bathroom window wood frame for some reason which no other window in the entire house needed to have the wood frame removed to install the windows, then putting the wood frame back crooked and dirty fingerprints in hand marks on appliances and on freshly painted window frame and walls, window installed crooked which would not allow it to go up and down freely, and finally lastly a windowsill that should have been white like every other window in the house was painted black and I was told basically they would not replace it because it's only paint that nobody would notice. Accept us the buyers,the most important people noticed. They offered me $500 for my troubles if I would sign off on the project which I refuse to do. I must say though over the winter time I did have a cracked window and frost in between two panels which they did take care of immediately which I am thankful for, but overall of all the complaints and phone calls and wasted time with the service department, I would not recommend them to anybody and I will not give them a good review, there are plenty of places out there where you can get the exact windows for a lot cheaper! They even sent the window representative out to my house at one point and when I stated all my complaints and told him there is no quality control and that my wife and I regretted going with this company he really did not have anything to say, Even though we did our homework and their reviews were good and their rating was good ,We ourselves did not have a good experience at all. Stay far, far, VERY far away from this company. We have had so many problems- with getting someone from Rong Window to come and fix the problems we have had with the doors we had put in a few years ago -that we gave up. Larry was our contact person after the job was finished. He came out a several times to make minor adjustments that never solved the leaking and the shifting and the bulging we had in both doors, front and back. Then we couldn't get hold of him. Then we got a run around. 'Well, you know, it's like this..." Then we got a couple of more useless visits. Always felt like we were bothering him. Then we gave up. We are now having an addition put onto our home. I asked the current contractor to look at the doors. He laughed, and pointed out what had not and should have been done. I have been waiting for a chance to write this review. I hope I can save someone from making the same mistake we made. ( We also had 10 wimdows installed. We are just beginning to experience problems with several of those, too. I will not even waste my time trying to contact Rite, as I sit here with the paperwork and warranty and guarantee from those charlatans by my side. I got a quote for a basement door for $3100, they had a 50% off sale and it only turned out to be $200 of the labor ($2700 for a door) so they tried to sell me a door for WAAAAY TOOOO much! I decided to get a second quote since the door was a custom size. Home Advisor directed me to a licensed builder who gave me a quote with the same size, model, hardware and color for $1350, so be wary of overpriced big companies who sublet out all their work anyway. read more

Rite Window was the BEST choice we could have made to have our front door replaced with a side lite. The door is ABSOLUTELY beautiful. Working with Joe Law on the design and color was so easy. Joe gave us the best price we could have imagined. He made us feel completely comfortable about signing on with Rite Window to do our front door. We are so GLAD we did. Joe also told us how long it would take to make our custom designed door and side lite. We were very happy to wait the 6 weeks. The installers Matthew and Nick were extremely PROFESSIONAL. Did an AWESOME job. Took a little over 2 hrs. They swept the floor and picked up all their litter and left my house the way they found it. Aug 2019: Review Update - after having left my last review Bill, the owner, contacted me. Bill apologized for my experience and listened to my feedback and concerns. Bill explained that my sales rep was new and asked if he could send a more experienced sales rep to my home, I agreed. This experience was much better than the first. Although I have not decided if I will use Rite Window or not, I can say Bill works very hard to make customers (and potential customers) happy. We recently had our floors done by a big box store which didn`t go so well. So when we needed windows, I went with RiteWindow because they seemed to be well-run and rising in Boston. What a great job! There are really two phases. The first, inspection/design/quote went very well. The sales guy was really nice, timely, communicated well, and since our house had some unusual windows requirements, he did a great job helping us come up with the best window solutions. The second phase, the actual install, went remarkably well. They did our 20-odd windows, including 2 bay windows, a sliding glass door, and a floor to ceiling window set all in three days...which was half of what I thought it would take, and two days quicker than even they estimated. Finally, when I paid both times with a check, I needed them to wait a few days to cash them as funds got transferred. My mom was in the need for new windows/sliding doors and couldn't pull the trigger on them for the longest time. We just had 8 new windows and 2 slider doors installed through Rite Window to replace the outdated, screechy ones we had before. She was unable to be there for the consultation, so I had to make myself available. The staff was very personable and professional to meet our needs and price range. It was clear they knew what they were talking about, and made some great recommendations. The windows and sliders were installed in a very efficient manner, and they came out looking fantastic!! Now I don't have to listen to my mom complain about it being cold in the house or calling our old windows ugly and unappealing (this was a common occurrence). I was referred to Rite Window by my Mother-in-law. She was pleased with the replacement of her home windows. When I called Rite Window to have a $800 picture window replaced, I was informed that my job was "too small" and that Rite Window was not interested in helping me!! It must be nice to be so independent to turn jobs away, especially with a customer referral. I called a competitor to Rite Window who was happy to help me with this job and also the replacement of windows in my other home. My Mother-in-law also called the competitor to have her other home windows replaced. Customers come with all different needs. From one window to 24. This is an updated review for the herculean response from this company with our particular needs. There was an issue with getting an a/c installed with the marginal window opening at my elderly mother's house. I called the company over a 2 week span and received little by way of follow-up or resolution. In frustration, I wrote a 1 star review and thought that would be the end of it. No, it was just the beginning. This company cares so much about it's customers and reputation, they actually tracked down who I was and I received a call from one of their company presidents, Bill. We talked many times over the course of that day and he offered full support, action, resolution and apology. The lack of follow through was not the company's policy. He has educated and trained his employees to this end (but sometimes the ball gets dropped); Customer Service is a top priority. And it is! He has proven this by getting us the support needed and quickly. This man has restored my faith in the modern day business world with his deep sense of caring and empathy - and this wasn't lip service, he was truly as concerned for my mother's dire situation in this heat as I was. Frankly, I was overwhelmed by the response and superlative action of the team that arrived promptly this morning to troubleshoot and implement a plan of attack. It went flawlessly. The crew was over-the-top skillful and a pleasure to work with. They left the house spotlessly clean with a job well done. I wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone in search of replacement windows for their home or business. They will stand by you 100%, years after the initial installation. I am so happy with my windows. They are very good quality for the price! The installers were awesome. They were so respectful and careful. When they left, you would never have known they were here. I think my house may have been cleaner after they left! I will be having the remaining windows done in the Spring. read more

We had problems with our storm door the way it was installed. In my opinion they purposely knew this was gonna be a problem but did it anyways. I asked them to come back out and we had a different set of installers who said that we would need a whole new storm door... two months later our storm door came. They came out and removed the old door before opening the packaging of the new door which was damaged. I now have no storm door and am told it will be another two weeks before I can get one. In the meantime I have no storm door and we are getting into bad weather, I know the storm door isn't needed but it's the principle of the matter. This whole experience has been frustrating and the last thing I need as a healthcare worker who has to take days off. I expressed my concerns to the service department and they could care less unwilling to offer a solution in the interim. I would not recommend read more

I needed 20 new windows and 2 new sliding doors to replace all of the existing 1970's fixtures in my single family home. If you are looking for incredible customer service, quality, and value for a project... look no further. The entire process was not only painless, it was enjoyable from start to finish and the end product was better than I could have imagined. The Rite Window team was responsive, professional, respectful. Marco, my sales rep, was awesome. He quickly scheduled an appointment, punctually came out to the house and was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He gave me great tips on which windows would work best for me and even offered design ideas that not only made the window/door layout much more functional and beautiful but even saved me money! For instance, we reversed the way one of the sliders opened to make better use of kitchen space, and we replaced a wall of three windows with one large picture window... it was not only a cheaper alternative but came out gorgeous and is now the centerpiece of the master bedroom! The install team of Matt, Nathan, and Bart were the best contractors I've worked with. They were meticulous and took their time at every step to make sure the job came out top-notch - not a single corner was cut. They kept the house clean and the end product was perfect. Love our new windows, Bob the installer was very knowledgeable and neat and clean. The windows have already shown to block the sun that is the West sun setting exposure. We removed an awning that previously blocked the sun. Love the open windows we now have..!! The only issue we had was with screens, but it was rectified quickly. read more
