The person handling window pick up always has to take counter pick up as well as answering phones. Which makes wait time longer. Staff is less then friendly, always seem in a rush, not to helpful in person or over the phone. Wish they had a little it more patience & sympathy for those that are I'll or with I'll children. Entire outside area has homeless scattered surrounding the building. Homeless often hang out inside. Mostly it would be nice if pharmacy staff took some training in courtesy & friendly customer service. read more

My doctor put me on a new medication. This was my 2nd time getting it filled. Again, I'm new to this. I went to pick up my refill 2 days early. In which the girl that helped me basically accused me of mishandling my meds and can't pick them up until they're are gone. She then said if I was taking them as follows, I shouldn't be out. I'm not out and have 1 more for tomorrow. She argued with me saying I have to wait 3 days. She left and came back saying I can pick them up tomorrow. I switched my pharmacy from the Rite Aid on Steptoe & Gage to this one because of Customer Service issues. This Rite Aid actually treated me well, were responsive to my needs, and were very empathetic about me being w/o meds for days!! I have made the point of letting them know how much I appreciate their consideration. The issues that other reviewers are speaking to are the world we live in post-Covid. Worker shortage, supply shortages, everyone needs their items ASAP. It's such a mess but Rite Aid or any pharmacy is not responsible for this mess. I have been using the Pharmacy here for sometime. I will be taking my business elsewhere. several times now I call before arriving to pickup a refill and they say it is ready. when I arrive it's not even filled. then they tell me I'd going to be 30 or 40 minutes. it is ridiculous! I called twice this time once yesterday and again this morning both times the told me it was ready. When I arrived to pick it up the female pharmacist was rude, saying I just started working on that it's going to be 30 or 40 minutes. What horrible customer service. The front checkout counter had no one around (9:15 pm) so I took my purchases to the pharmacy, since I needed to pick up a prescription any way. The cashier found my prescription and processed that purchase. When he walked away I told him to return, as I wanted to also purchase the handful of items sitting on the counter. He rolled his eyes and said he doesn't check non-pharmacy items, but would make an exception. When finished, he quickly walked away again, so I raised my voice to ask for a bag. Hanna is the best employee I've come into contact with in your store. Been a customer since you opened well over 30 years ago. She is friendly, empathetic, kind and always working hard when I come in. She has to deal with a lot of unruly customers at night and deserves a holiday bonus for just being a wonderful person no matter what is going on in the store around her. This has been a terrible pharmacy to do business with. Not only does it take forever to fill simple, common prescriptions, the last two times I went to pick up my refills I was told they would be ready in four hours and neither time were they ready. This caused me to make a second trip to the pharmacy. The service in this pharmacy is in stark contrast to the Rite Aid in Bellevue, WA where they get most prescriptions ready in about 10 minutes and follow through on commitments. I would give zero stars if I could. I went to the ED for a kidney infection. Dropped my prescription for my antibiotic off and they told me it would be 3 hours. I explained I'd wait cause I was in pain and needed to start the antibiotic right away. I wait for a bit (I'm the only one there). I now have to go to the bathroom, there's a sign on the door that it's out of order. I ask for another bathroom and I'm told to walk across to the Carl's Jr. At this point I've waited about 45 min and I have to use the restroom so I decide to drive all the way home. They call me about an hour in half later to come pick it up. I drive back, I'm told that with my insurance it will cost $35. I explained that Good Rx is offering the meds for $18. A very rude lady with grey hair comes to the window and tells me that she'll give me that price but it will be an additional hour an a half to run it back through and print new labels. She also adds she has 5 ER scripts that need to be filled first. I explained my scripts also came from the ER and I've already waited 2 plus hours for mine. She stated she hears what I'm saying but can't help me. They were so rude, inconsiderate of my situation/need and basically ripped me off by making the better price an additional hour and a half cost. I'll never return to Rite Aid! read more

There is one 24-hour pharmacy in this town that I know of. It is the Rite Aid in Kennewick on N. Ely St. Thank you for providing this service to the community. I will say, however, that you deliberately understaff the pharmacy to squeeze every last cent out of your workers and "pass the savings" on to us. This is unsafe, and, although it is cheaper to be dead than alive, the service your pharmacists provide is intended to protect life. Aside from the safety issue, your constant micromanagement of your staff, consistent reference to "metrics," and refusal to acknowledge that customers and employers are persons instead of machines and revenue sources does lead to poor service and a loss of business. For example, this evening, I attempted to call your pharmacy. Nobody picked up for some time. When they did pick up, they did not acknowledge that they had answered the phone. They did not say "we will be with you in a minute." They did not say anything. They did not put me on hold. Instead, they left the phone unattended for the 12 minutes it took me to drive to the pharmacy from the doctor's office. The technician that served me then told me that they did not have time to answer the phone. This is probably true because you don't trust your staff. The only way this behavior makes sense is if you keep track of hold times and require your staff to stay on the phone until the customer hangs up. So, the work around is to play games with the customers and hope they hang up thinking it is a glitch with the phone system. Then, they get defensive when someone that knows what is going on calls them on it. Staff your pharmacies! Quit micromanaging your employees! Trust your employees if they say they are understaffed and do something about it. I only use Rite Aid on the rare occasion I need a prescription after hours, and it is difficult not to resent Rite Aid because of how poorly they treat their employees, and, as a consequence, how poorly they treat their customers. There staff and pharmacist are tremendously slow. It takes up to 2 days get a new ptescription filled. Even if you take it inside it takes an hour or more to fill and you can't leave the store. This is why I transfered all of mine to Fred Meyers. I never had to wait over 2 hours to pick a new or drop off script. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I have been going to this pharmacy for over 6 months, and they won't get another dime from me, I urge everyone to do the same. The store seems okay, but the pharmacy is a completely different story. Long waiting times, rude employees, they seem to keep "losing" my prescriptions so every single time I fill a medicine here by my doctor it's a back and forth, back and forth between talking to my doctors office and the pharmacy themselves. Yesterday it took over SEVEN hours to fill one prescription for myself. I can't imagine if someone was in an extreme amount of physical pain like me and having to wait that long. It's unprofessional when trying to fill a prescription , lack of communication to myself about it, and just an absolute nightmare having to go fill a prescription every month. I'm done with Rite aid forever. All they seem to care about is taking my money, and not providing even a decent amount of good customer service. My recommendation to them: shut this store down and fire everyone. The Rite Aid in Kennewick is awesome. I purchased some items back in November and left them in the store. I returned a few times only to discover I didn't have what I needed to get my things. I finally made it this month and even though she could have denied me the manager on duty, Alisha, was so gracious she never even blinked an eye after letting me know she would do all she could to help. I've been a loyal customer to other riteaid pharmacies in the past, but have decided I'm completely done with them now. They take multiple hours, sometimes days to fill a prescription which is just ridiculous. The staff is rude. They screwed up my last refill, blamed it on me and basically treated me like a junkie. If I could give a zero I would. Went to get a prescription filled for my very sick son in the middle of the night because its the only pharmacy thats open 24 hours. I was told my wait time would be 2 hours so I asked if I could stay at the store and wait for it and if it will be shorter wait, the pharmacy tech told me yes and I will be called over the intercom when it's ready. I waited for 45 minutes with my sick 2 year old in my arms and when I went up to ask how much longer it will be but the pharmacist was extremely rude and said "we already told you it will be 2 hours". I went into the Rite Aid by Safeway in Kennewick WA with a friend. As I walked in I asked if they had money orders, she said yes and waved her hand pointing towards the back. Now I'm on consistent oxygen 24/7. Went to the back and nothing. So I walk back to where she was and asked do I get the money order here? She says yes! Omgosh, soooooo I see a cooler by the cash register and looked for a cold coffee but they didn't have what I wanted so she asks what I wanted. She points again to the back of the store, as I am breathing really hard, I said no thank you. I tell her I want a 297.00 money order and a bottle of water. Anyway the money order was to much and I needed cash to get that much. OMG! Ok so I say can a manager override it? She calls the manager. He walks up never even asked what was wrong just deleted the money order and walks away! NEVER ASKED WHAT WAS WRONG! Unbelievable people I'm never going back there! read more

Then you get a text that the RX is ready so you go to the store and wait another 1-2 hours for them to find it. Would never come here and only have to when our Walgreens is not 24 hours. read more

I've been a loyal customer for many years (25+), but my experience of the last 10 years or so has been very similar to that of other users' reviews. It's not really the main store employees-- they're fine, and some I would consider friends. But the pharmacy staff, especially the technicians, are just very rude. It doesn't really matter what time it is; it's whenever they are very busy that pharma technicians begin to speak in strident, harsh tones, and try to shame me as a customer. The last incident was this morning, with a technician named Crystal. I spoke with the head pharmacist-- Marci-- and got nowhere. She rationalized and defended the technician's behavior despite my measured insistence that this has been a pattern for their staff, for some years now. Then I called company customer service, and was told that I'd have to wait for a district manager to call me, and that I was not permitted to ask for his contact information directly. It should be noted that Rite-Aid is only one of two pharmacies that offer 24-hour service, the other being Walgreen's, at the corner of 395 and Clearwater, not far away. I understand that things get very busy; I'm fine with the long wait times, and I put up with occasional mistakes. But that is little excuse for such poor customer service. I don't even believe in "the customer is always right"; sometimes the customer is wrong, including myself. Exceptional customer service, IMHO, means that employees work hard to make things right (and offer alternatives), even when the customer is very clearly wrong. If you manage to read all of this, gold stars for you. I'd avoid this location if at all possible. read more

I don't always have a bad experience here, but in the last month I've had to have several antibiotic prescriptions filled and it hasn't been as pleasant as I would hope. When I've called to check on prescriptions, the person answering acted as if I was inconveniencing her, when I'm the one who is sick and would really rather not have to be calling anyway. Also, it took WAY too long for my prescriptions to be filled. WAY TOO LONG!! 3 hours one time, and today...5 hours!!! That is ridiculous! I don't know what their problem is there, whether they are just slow, or if they just don't have enough help, but I think it's something they need to address and work on to get better. read more

Worst customer service in the pharmacy (on par for all Rite Aid locations) they think your time is worthless, just as I have today, I have had to come in to initiate face to face both the filling of and insurance processing of my prescriptions. The first process (filling) took 30-40 minutes and the second process (insurance) took over 20. Each time I ask or complain about why something wasn't done the last time I was at this counter, I get a response with a tone that in VERY much indicating this is my fault somehow?! ("We just now got these." "Well we didn't have your insurance information so we couldn't process it." Guess that's not what my number on file is for.) Rite Aid has been my last resort and will continue to be. With a tiny bit of initiative on their part (making sure insurance info was on file when I was initiating filling, for example) I could have saved several visits and a ton of time wasted waiting today, and Rite Aid Pharmacy would have saved themselves another negative Yelp review.
