This rite aid showed great customer service to me, we came for ice cream and even though there was only 2 cashiers with a line of about 15 people one of them stopped after their transaction just to help us. They also just did a remodeling of the floor so it's very nice and clean in there. Usually all their items are stocked too since it's right across from the campus. Worst pharmacy ever! They are not helpful, not motivated to help, they have no sense of urgency, they do the bare minimum if that. I call pharmacy for refill prescriptions. They always claim they send the refills requests to the doctor, they never do. Then I have to call the doctor to confirm, then pharmacy again because they've sent zero requests, etc...what should be one call to get a refill of medication always turns into a whole day or two of frustration. The worst pharmacy I've ever experienced. I arrived around 7:10pm and was told it would take about 30 minutes to fill my medication. They asked me if I wanted to wait so I said yes. I dropped my SO off at home so he could start dinner, got back around 8pm and they said that their pharmacist had taken a lunch and would be back in 30 minutes.. The customer service at the pharmacy is absolutely terrible. I called beforehand to ask what I needed to bring, and because the pharmacist couldn't find my information she just told me it would be $80 without insurance (which I have). I went in to pick up my prescription, and the first person tried to charge me the full price without even asking for insurance information. I was then sent to another person, who was incredibly rude and condescending. I tried to give them all the information they asked for for my insurance, which was more than any pharmacy I've gone to has asked for. Thankfully, she was kind enough to inform me that I was in a pharmacy. :) it took me calling my parents and supplying her with multiple pharmacy phone numbers before she contacted someone else to get the information, which she could have done all along. She treated my parents and me as if we'd never picked up medication before and as though we didn't truly know if we had insurance. I have no problem being patient with customer service providers, but I have never been so talked down to or dealt with any of this while picking up a prescription before. Employees seem nice but their pace and desire to make you feel valued is completely lacking. This is the pharmacy mind you but now that tricare is accepted at walgreens I'm switching back. Walgreens offers scrips ready in 15 minutes, and a 24 hour pharmacy. Better than Rite Aid's "Ittl be 20 minutes" that turns into sittin for an hour and a half. Only thing that I like about this store is it's proximity to my apartment. However, it also has a GNC within the store, so that's a plus and saves me having to drive a little further. They also have some very interesting basketcarts that you can either carry or roll-around. It's also almost required that you have their club card to save some money unfortunately. read more

Since this Rite Aid is across the street for the U.C. Davis dorms, it has one of the best inventories around. i think the prices are also very good! When school is in session, you can expect it to be very crowded at peak times and there will be a long orderly line at the registers. read more

The store is nice but the pharmacy is quite literally a disaster. The first time I got my prescription here they didn't have it and made me wait until the next day after making me stand there for 15 min while they attempted to figure out their shit. Since then I've tried calling my prescription in at least 2 days before I needed it and they still make me wait 15 minutes each time. They were also late opening the pharmacy before they made me wait which was just the cherry on top. If you're planning on going to this pharmacy expect to have at least 15 minutes taken out of your day with the only entertainment being watching the pharmacists asking very personal questions about people's issues in front of all of us waiting. Let's just say I wish they had a cvs somewhere nearby because I'd definitely be going there. read more

Terrible Pharmacy. Every time I've dropped off a prescription they'll tell me it'll be ready in 1 hour, which it never is, and usually had to wait 15-20 mins in addition to the 15 mins in the lines. Today was outrageous though. I dropped off a prescription at 3pm and was told to pick it up at 4pm. I come at 4, wait in line for over 10 mins, only to realize that my order hadn't even been entered into the system because they misspelled my name. I just stood there at the counter while they figured shit out and then was told itll be a few minutes and they'll call my name. I waited for over one hour and no one called my name, while they saw me sitting in the waiting area for the longest time. Finally, I gave up and got back in line and asked when it will be filled. Apparently it had been ready for a while but no one bothered to call my name! I sat there for an hour staring at them while they looked back at me and did nothing, didn't even bother to give me an update as they walked in and out right in front of me. Really poor pharmacy service. Don't come between 1:00 and 2:00 in the afternoon because there is no pharmacist on site during this time. If you have a new prescription you have to wait until he/she gets back. There is no one to cover. There is no sign up about the fact that there is no pharmacist here during the hour. The employees have been helpful and friendly every time I've been there, too. This is a nice pharmacy with a decent selection with just about everything you need. It is very easy to get through the store and get to exactly what you need. Excellent location on top of it. Even better, my wife left her iphone in the pharmacy waiting area. And, the manager, went out of his way to see a name pop-up on the screen when I sent her a text, he couldn't access the phone because it was locked. I've had real qualms with the pharmacy. I submitted a refill request on the rite aid app and it said it be ready for pick up on the next day (Thursday). I was busy, so I went in to pick it up on the SUNDAY. It wasn't ready three days after it was supposed to be! They told me I'd have to wait over an hour for them to fill it too. I have other stuff to do with my day, and I can't be waiting more time for a pharmacy that's three days late. It's just not acceptable. read more

The employees here are beyond rude. I asked a simple question and received an extremely condescending tone in response. I came in to purchase some batteries and tried to use the photo printer and it did not work, so I asked an employee at the registers (considering they never have employees walking around to help) and he responded to me saying the machine wasn't working in an extremely rude tone as though I was an idiot when clearly I could not have known if the machine was functioning, since there was no sign or indication that it was out of order. Then when I proceeded to check out, the same employee rushed me while paying and told me to disregard the change. When I asked him if he was sure, considering he seemed to be in a pissy mood, he responded with "I don't care" and practically tossed me my receipt. Needless to say I'm going to try avoiding that place as much as possible from now on. The only positive experience I've had was with the pharmacy, but that may not even be enough to redeem their crappy customer service. Customer service is extremely unprofessional. First complaint- a line growing to the number of 8-9 customers and only one cashier available. Considering the manager and 2 other employee's just standing around talking and laughing about non-work related subjects, when a customer asked for another cashier to relieve the wait, their response was NO, and with an attitude to say the least. Second complaint- it is known that Davis is home to foreign students with a language barrier. My wife and I witnessed a cashier tell a customer that asked for the cheaper price advertised with a wellness card that she could not get the lower price. However the young girl volunteered to sign up for the wellness card, she was told the price would still not be lower due to the account needing to take effect. This was a horrible display of taking advantage of not just a student, but a foreign student at that. read more

A horror! Absolutely the worst, most incompetent, rude pharmacy I have ever seen in my 65 years! After 5 years it's gone completely off the tracks. Afternoon main pharmacist is a petulant and spoiled daddy's baby. Been in 4 times during Jan. to get an Rx to deal with a bone infection from a deep leg wound, and they can do nothing without their computers. I wait for fifteen minutes minimum, on my two canes and shaking legs, to get turned away yet again. The pharmacists says 'I was going to call you tomorrow to tell you that you didn't need to wait in line'.. I had just been denied my Rx for the fourth time, and wasn't please to hear her tell me about how 'she was going to call me', and told her so. Next day I come in to try again, and she won't fill my meds because I 'harassed her' the night before, and 'was tired'. She's tired? I'm facing loss of my leg! When she's instrumental in preventing me from losing my leg, possibly my life by not getting my Rx, she expects me to thank her? Today while I watched as they turned three other Senior Citizens away after they had been notified to come in for THEIR meds. All three were considering transferring to another store. I sure will.
