A convenient spot to stop in for a fresh made, customized sandwich! This small bodega convenience store has groceries and convenience store items. It is run by an Asian family so there are several interesting finds here such as fresh Kim Chee and many kinds of instant noodle bowls. I personally think that is a gem of a find in the middle of city center Philly. The best thing here though is their small deli sandwich counter. Order at the counter and you are given a ticket to take to the front register. Once you pay, the ticket is stamped and you go back to pick up the sandwich that was just made to your specs. What is given to you is more like a large sandwich you would make at home but no way could you imitate the great inventory of all fresh ingredients. I loved my version of an upgraded white trash, recession special. A hunk of sliced Boar's Head Bologna, slices of Cooper Sharp Cheese, Mayo all on good sourdough. Made me think back to my elementary school lunch days! There is nothing fancy about grabbing lunch here. But I look forward to my next visit to Philly just so I can go here again and get that sandwich. If you know, you know!

La colombe coffee at a great price Not a big fan of the breakfast sandwiches- they don't have ways to cook so it's heated up egg and I'm pretty sure they microwaved my pork roll but everything else is great.

More importantly, their wide selection of beers has not been impacted by any supply chain issues. As such, its hard not to like The Foodery! If you are looking for a beer, they probably have it. You can shop by region or by type. You can buy by the single beer or cases in some cases (no punt intended). Grab a 6 pack to get a nice little discount. Enjoy there with friends or bring home.

But in its multiple locations its definitely evolved from the tiny corner store that's a beer and sandwich haven, to several places that deliver the same in a much larger package. But when it comes down to both deli counter and beer selection, the Roxborough location might just be my favorite, and not just because it also let me scoop out some popcorn to go during non-Covid-19 times. Even in the slightly larger NoLibs location, past Foodery locations have boldly crammed specialty groceries, a deli counter, and fridges stocked with ALL THE BEERS into some seriously crammed situations. But that isn't a problem in this one which is by far the largest I've seen (without setting foot in the Phoenixville one yet). Because of that everything is placed in areas that make sense while also tossing in things like a section for large bottles, ALL THE SNACKS, and an impressive growler fill station. My favorite sandwich is definitely the Diablo with its buffalo chicken, pepper jack cheese, avocado, and chipotle mayo that delivers a spicy kick that doesn't border on overkill. But I've also enjoyed the Hot Toastee with its tavern ham, swiss cheese, honey mustard, apple, and pecans on a toasted sourdough. The main event by far is the epic beer coolers, and whether you're looking for hard to find imports, well-liked local brews, noteworthy seasonal brews, ciders and seltzers, hoppy beers, chocolate stouts, or other, you're bound to find it!
