Chakra Indian Cuisine - Tandoori Medley

Delightful place, ambience, and service. Of course, good food as well. An informal litmus test of…read morehow fresh the ingredients are is to order "Bhel Puri" and check for the crispness. Nailed it! Their (tandoori) roti flatbread was also crisp (and none of that chewy feel). Saag paneer had a ting of smoked flavor - delightful! Very friendly wait and host staff w/ reasonable prices. Fancy enough to host a large group.

Parking is always a challenge when heading to any restaurant in downtown, but since it was a weekday, we found a spot easily. The entrance and ambience are fabulous -- with Buddha statues placed at the entry and throughout the restaurant, and beautiful hanging red/lavender tree leaves adding a lot of charm Coming to food, as we were party of 7, we ordered * Kale Pakora * Bhindi Churi Muri: crispy, veryt thin slices of ladyfinger- good 4/5 * Lasooni gobhi *Tandoori Medley: mixed platter. Honestly, not sure why they'd include large chicken pieces here; felt like something borrowed from a buffet platter. The only items I liked were the mutton seekh kebab and prawns. *Gobhi Manchurian: too much sauce - 3/5 * Jhinga Masala: tomato-based gravy with prawns, nothing extraordinary, 3/5 * Bhuna Gost : nope, could not find the gravy... 2.5/5 * Lamb Biryani: average and disappointing, 2.5/5 * Eggplant Bharta * Gobhi Paratha, Tandoori Roti, Garlic Naan, Laccha Paratha * Jaljeera, Lassi, Lime soda To be honest, food was pretty average. Bharta and Bhuna Gosht definitely could've been better. It felt very hit or miss--none of the dishes really stood out Also, Portion was way less then what other restaurant serves! Service was good but again we were the only party there! they added 20 % gratuity by default Overall, I'd rate it 3 to 3.5/5 at best. I'll probably skip it next time unless they bring in something new. Bring some new flavor team, you are not offering anything new!

The spice level is good too, just the way it should be not watered down. Lol. We enjoyed food by the same management group at their various locations and love them all. Must try items any tandoor dishes, momo, and spinach kofta. Dessert - malpua/rabdi is outstanding too. Plenty of seating and parking.

The main seating area was absolutely packed--a great sign--so we were very glad we had made a reservation. The overall vibe is great for a family meal. Appetizers: We started with the Masala Peanuts, Chicken Keema Lettuce Wraps, and Lamb Galouti Kabobs. The wraps and keema were nice, though we had to specifically request chutneys to go with them. Once they arrived, the dish tasted great! The Galouti Kabobs were legit, melting in your mouth, though they were a tad bit on the salty side. My son also loved his Fusion Chicken Tacos--a great modern take! Main Course (The Real Stars!): This is where Social Hub truly shines. We ordered the Shrimp Curry, the Tariwala Chicken (which was fun and theatrically served in a mini pressure cooker!), and the Lamb Chops. Honestly, these dishes were phenomenal--some of the tastiest Indian food we've ever had. The flavors were complex, authentic, and perfectly spiced. The breads were excellent too: the Chili Garlic Naan and Lachha Parantha were warm, fresh, and deliciously yummy. They also served complimentary steamed rice, which was perfectly cooked. The kids loved their Mango Lassi! Desserts: We tried three desserts: the Ras Malai Tres Leches Cake and the Chocolate Lava Cake with ice cream were decent choices. The Ice Cream Falooda, however, was just okay and didn't quite meet the standard set by the rest of the meal. Overall: We definitely recommend Social Hub By Dhaba for the great atmosphere, warm service, and truly outstanding main dishes. It's a must-try for elevated and authentic Indian cuisine in Parsippany!

My complaints are that everything is very expensive now. Also, the chef does not know how to make a batura. I have complained about this before. What they serve for a bhatuta is just a puri that was rolled out bigger to look like a batura. Traditional batura is a bread made out of white flour and fermented with yeast. It has bubbles in it like bread. I wish they corrected this.

I was incredibly keen to try A2B Indian Restaurant after hearing numerous glowing reviews,…read moreincluding a stellar 4.8-star rating from 7.4k reviews and a passionate recommendation from my fiancé's South Indian friend claiming they have the best masala dosas in the state. Given the difficulty of getting a reservation at my current favorite, Semma, this was meant to be my new go-to. Unfortunately, my Saturday evening experience was an overall big letdown. We arrived to a packed restaurant, with the parking lot at capacity, which certainly spoke to A2B's popularity. The interior was spacious, offering plenty of booths and tables, yet it was still quite full. We were seated quickly after a short 5-minute wait. However, once we sat down, the waiting game began. There was an iPad on the table with the menu, but we couldn't place the order ourselves. After nearly 15 minutes had passed with no server approaching, we finally flagged someone down. When the waiter did arrive, they offered no introduction and simply asked for our order before taking the iPad and leaving. For drinks, the Masala Chai and a Mango Lassi (made with pulp, not fresh mangoes) were both good; no complaints there. We ordered the main event, two Mysore Masala Dosas with the potato masala on the side. The food came out alarmingly fast, within like three minutes, which immediately made me suspicious. How the food was presented was perhaps the most jarring part of the experience, the small separate dishes for the potato masala and the chutneys were placed directly on top of my dosa! That's not hygienic at all, and to have serving dishes underside directly contacting the food was a bad look and presentation. Beyond the questionable presentation, the quality of the dosa was deeply disappointing. It was soggy and not crispy whatsoever. The speed suggested it was possibly pre-made and sitting under a heat lamp. The only saving grace of the entire meal was the sambar, which was genuinely good, almost as good as my mom makes it. Given this experience, I completely lost interest in trying the Palak Paneer or Malai Kofta I had initially planned on. We finished with the Pista Kulfi for dessert, which was just okay, with a heavy taste of cardamom that you'll love only if you're a big fan of that spice. While we were there, another family in front of us complained to the manager about the service, but the manager looked like he didn't care since business is booming for the restaurant. I wouldn't come back here again; there are much better spots for dosas and vegetarian Indian food. This was an overall disappointing experience.
