Really great and amazingly flavorful cuisine. The spicy chicken appetizer is the best I've had. It's crispy with just the right heat. I've had the lamb chops multiple times and you will end up eating them with your hands, they are that tasty. They are done Punjab style with a great marinade and then seared in the tandor. Perfect. Staff is very accommodating and the prices are great for the quality.

Such a great menu- but with so many options, you are guaranteed to get fomo for what you don't order. Chinese Bhel - you had me at the crunch! Crispy noodles tossed in a flavorful sauce- but just enough so they dont get soggy. Missal Pav - the anti-crunch. Wife loves it so hey more bhel for me! Lasooni Ghobi- yes more crunch! Crispy cauliflower tossed in a spicy garlic sauce. Pani Puri- where my wife and I meet- crispy meets soggy... well ok not soggy! Paan ice cream - if you know, you know. This is a combo of my american childhood memories blending with my summer trips to India childhood memories- and its winning from all perspectives! Can't wait to go back!

Mumbai Maskaa in Montclair is a gem for Mumbai street food lovers! Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and just really well done. The Vada Pav was hands-down the best I've had in NJ. They make the pav in-house, and you can tell--it's soft and fresh, pairing perfectly with the crisp Vada and chutneys. The Paneer Kathi Roll was also packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. We had the Lemon Coriander Soup to start, which was light and refreshing, full of vibrant flavors. For dessert, the Orange Kulfi (served in orange rinds!) was so unique, and the Organic Carrot Halwa was perfectly sweet and rich. Also loved the Kokum Punch in the drinks so refreshing . The service was great--friendly and attentive, with lots of smiles. The place has a casual vibe, and the décor has cute touches that really bring in the spirit of Mumbai. Already making plans to go back with my friends--can't wait to try more of their menu!

The Indian restaurant we were going to was closed (on Monday) so we looked for an alternative and what a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! So happy we gave Mumbai Maskaa a try. The service was very friendly from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Loved having many options on the menu to choose from. My husband and i ordered the mix grill platter, wow! Every item on the grill was delicious. Our daughters tried the paneer tikaa masala and the paneer saag. Every one if us was very satisfied with our meal. It's a cute little BYOB restaurant with flavorful food, fantastic service and convenient parking. Highly recommend it.

Small but nicely appointed space with off-street parking. One is greeted immediately with delightful smells coming from the kitchen. Nicely varied menu with plenty of vegetarian and non-veg selections. One thing I liked was their 5-stars spice level choice: be apprised that this is Indian spice levels, so 4 was quite delightful for me with lots of experience in India and SE Asia. Typical American palates should stick to 1 or 2! The preparations and spices were very true to what I have had in India. Prices were fair for the quantity and especially quality served. Luncheon special pricing is very attractive and just the right quantity. Highly recommended.

All the dishes we got were extremely flavorful! Portion sizes were good. Favorite food was the tandoori paneer and the schezwan noodles. I absolutely loved the orange kulfi which was so refreshing and uniquely presented. Would love to come back and try other Mumbai style street foods. Cannot make reservations on the weekends and wait times could be 30-45 minutes. Ambiance was very relaxed and has simple decor.

New Indian place in town and it's lovely! The space is nice and clean. Not too large inside though so probably can't hold groups more than 8-10 people. The servers were so nice and attentive. All the food was very fresh and flavorful and you can tell the ingredients were high quality. Nice to know there's a good Indian place around and I'll def be coming back!

I would rate this as one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever tried. I loved it so much that I had it twice on my trip there. The service is great. They offered soups. There isn't much seat but the seats are parted to provide some privacy. I didn't get to take much pictures as I was really hungry and the food was tasty. I would definitely come back.

They have options to go for the mild choice if you can't do spice. This restaurant is situated within downtown Montclair - which is such a charming shopping block. We ordered: - honey chili lotus - saffron butter crab (generous portion size of crab)! - goat cheese naan - Goan fish curry Every dish was so good! The highlight was the saffron butter crab - that umami flavor was insane. The honey lotus was crispy and packed with flavor. The Goan fish curry was satisfying and not spicy at all which we both appreciated. I also enjoyed the 3 complimentary sauces on the table - none of them were too spicy. I highly recommend this place! The space itself is on the smaller side, but it is intimate, warm, and always buzzing. The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming, making you feel taken care of from the moment you enter. Parking is street based, but there's a garage right across, and honestly, the area is very walkable so it's not a hassle to find street parking. They kick things off with a complimentary appetizer (crispy chips with dipping sauce); I ate before the phone -oops! The mango lassi is not your typical thick, yogurt heavy version, and the one here is lighter, smoother, almost like a refreshing mango smoothie - also not pictured, big oops! Why I LOVE the place after the first visit: the curries (ordered the paneer and chickpea)!! Unlike many Indian restaurants where dishes can feel overly heavy or leave you feeling weighed down, the curries here are light yet incredibly aromatic and full of flavor. You get all the richness of the ingredients and spices without that post meal sluggishness. Rice comes complimentary with the curry (always a win), and the naan is a must order. Both the garlic and butter naan were packed with flavor-- went very well with the curries! Note: It does lean a bit on the pricier side, but the quality, freshness, and dining experience make it worth it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to again to try other things on the menu.

The food was delicious and you can also change the spice levels on the food based on how you like it. There chettinaad chicken cutlets were delicious and I enjoyed the Pulav as well. I think for the amount of food that you get the prices a little bit on the pricier side and if you are expecting to be full from here that will not happen unless you're ordering a bunch of bread. Presentation was also great so I am giving this place a four star.

I let our server know the whole meal would be vegan, and he said no problem. We went with chana masala, baingan bharta, mushroom matar, and aloo gobi. All perfectly spiced! Flavorful without setting your mouth on fire (Chatni gets it). They swapped naan for roti (vegan option) and brought out the food fast. I did ask for the chutney and crackers after the meal came out -- last time they served it first, so now I know to request it upfront. No biggie to me! Everything tasted authentic, you can tell they don't cut corners. The decor has that real Indian charm too; idols, warm colors, the whole vibe. It stayed quiet during lunch which was actually nice. And honestly, lunch for two adults and a kid in Montclair for $23? In this economy?? Wild. The food looked and smelled so good we dove right in before taking photos (no regrets). For me Memo Workend. Used to come here with my insane ex monster years ago. Food was not very good this time. Doughy cracker crusted lamb samosas and tepid white rice and unpleasant naan on the stale side. chai tea had a chewy film on top of the liquid like some sort of skin. Service was atrocious. Horrible. so bad it was almost a joke. i wanted one of the samosas wrapped for home (God knows why). Mr. Casual comes out and i kid you not: cavalierly tossed a sheet of tinfoil at the samosa. i asked "so i just wrap it myself and stuff it in my pocket?" So he left - not to get a container or a plastic bag as asked (rain) but just went in the back to get me off his non-working back with my horrid demands. place was empty. from time i mistakenly entered to time i gladly left. before that he brought out my coke - or was it? a can that said "Bro" on it. And when he sauntered out much later, post-samosa, i had to ask for a glass. I was supposed to slurp out of a can? after eating one doughy samosa and putting the dirty plate on the other side of the table, i watched as he later came to toss the rice bowl and chicken tikka marsala on the table. Doesn't remove filthy dishes (see pic) and i had to say "whoa hold on! Can i have a plate?" Annoyed, he turned to another of the all other empty tables, snatched a table off that and clatter dropped it on my table. Twenty years ago, that would have escalated to more than this post. So bland food and lousy service. Chianti can't ni seem to get either right for. $52. But at least my crazy ex wasn't there - just her irritating spirit,

The tikka masala was delicious, very flavorful. Their rice is perfect. I had never tried sag paneer but it was great too, huge hunks of cheese swimming in a spinach sauce.
