Stopped by today for lunch while in Montclair for the afternoon. The lunch special was the perfect amount of food! I chose the vegetable samosas, the chicken makhani, the butter naan, and enjoyed the soup of the day and gulab jamun that came with my meal! Everything was flavorful and delicious! The service was quick and we will definitely come back!

Friendly service and delicious flavors await you at this little restaurant in Montclair. Came here for an early dinner and had a wonderful meal. Waiter was very helpful in walking us through the menu and selecting dishes we might enjoy. Appetizers were delicious, fig naan with eggplant was delicious and samosa chaat was spicy and tasty on a cold night. Entrees were flavorful and enjoyable. Also got the garlic naan for dipping with the entrees. Plenty of leftovers to bring home and will definitely return.

Great spot for dinner - great service and nice variety of dishes to select. Ordered samosa chaat for a starter - the spice level on that was unexpected but it was very tasty and 3 glasses of water later it was all good. Ordered the naan with garlic and rosemary and that was loaded with garlic and pretty yummy and very large. For dinner I had the kadai chicken (which was not too spicy) which consisted of large chunks of chicken in a red sauce with peppers and onions and had a nice balance of flavor. A bowl of basmati rice came with that. Really enjoyed my dinner and the service was outstanding. Definitely recommend this place.

Came here on a Wednesday for an early dinner for a party of two. We were greeted and got seated right away. The server/owner were really friendly at first but later had a slight attitude change after we ordered. Since we weren't very hungry, we got an appetizer, an entree, an order of naan, sparkling water and a mango lassi. Upon knowing that we were only ordering one entree to share and not one per person, the server/owner didn't look satisfied with our order. We felt awkward and uncomfortable with the attitude change but we enjoyed the food. The food itself was delicious and flavorful. As much as we love the food, we won't be coming back because of the experience we had with the server/owner.

Unexpected gem! Stumbled upon this cute location and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious Indian food. The amicable service and charming atmosphere made it all the more enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit!

Saffran Butter Garlic Crab and Jalapeno Cheese Samosa

The family and I ordered take-out this time. So we were unable to review the customer service and vibe of the restaurant. We ordered through their site, but they still used DoorDash for delivery. The food came in about 30 minutes. Jalapeno Cheese Samosa (7/10) - These were pretty good--they served their purpose but would have wanted a bit more jalapeno. Also, the plum sauce it came with was very good but it was so tiny, we needed more. Saffran Butter Garlic Crab (9/10) - This has a good amount of crab and a lot of flavor. However, I did not taste much of the saffron. I did stuff this in the garlic naan and it was amazing. Truffle Oil Goat Cheese Naan (8/10) - The hint of truffle oil was just enough, but I wish there was more goat cheese in the naan. I do understand this is a dish to appeal to westerners, so I will give it a pass. Goan Fish Curry / Very Spicy (8/10) - Nice big pieces of fish and great spice level. I deducted two points because there was not enough basmati rice based on the portion which was pretty big. Also, it was extremely oily. The flavor was amazing. Lamb Vindaloo (8/10) - Many pieces of lamb in a delicious sauce. Again, too oily, and not enough rice. This was packed with flavor. Raita (10/10) - delicious cucumber yogurt sauce that we dipped our naan in. The entrees we had too much oil and did not come with enough rice for the portion size. We will order from here again and visit their place in the future.

Talk about hole in the wall! We randomly found this restaurant, so small and authentic. We were looking for a great tasting butter chicken meal and we sure got it! Service was pleasant. Meals were so tasty! Crab cakes were so delicious. Prices were fair. Mango lassi is a must.

I did a takeout from this place. Tikki chat was good although tikis were small but they put 4. I would suggest to add chutneys and make it more look like chaat item. The pindi cholle were good and had good smokiness to it. Daal was really authentic. Highly recommend this place.

Inside this small store front is a modern decorated restaurant with lots of seating. They have not gentrified the Indian flavors or spicy levels. Plenty of mild, spicy and vegetarian options. Complimentary papad and three chutneys. Cuisine is served family style. Salmon bite appetizer was perfectly cooked with the amount of charr from the grill for crunch. I chose the hottest dish on the menu. Chicken Vindaloo , it gave me heat without loosing the flavor. The service is impeccable. I shared my dish and the person couldn't take the heat. The owner immediately put yogurt on the table. The three of us laughed for a few minutes. It was a great night. Street parking Parking deck

Definitely a standout starter. For our entrees, we ordered the Kokam Branzino and Shrimp Gassi, both served with basmati rice, and they were absolutely divine. The place was very clean on the inside although if you have read my reviews you know that I usually comment on the bathrooms however I did not get the chance to check out the bathroom this time lol. They have fun little mocktails that I saw other people ordering and other people seem to really enjoyed it however my husband and I decided that we were going to bring a bottle of wine for ourselves to enjoy which we did. The food was delicious and you can also change the spice levels on the food based on how you like it. There chettinaad chicken cutlets were delicious and I enjoyed the Pulav as well. I think for the amount of food that you get the prices a little bit on the pricier side and if you are expecting to be full from here that will not happen unless you're ordering a bunch of bread. Presentation was also great so I am giving this place a four star.

I let our server know the whole meal would be vegan, and he said no problem. We went with chana masala, baingan bharta, mushroom matar, and aloo gobi. All perfectly spiced! Flavorful without setting your mouth on fire (Chatni gets it). They swapped naan for roti (vegan option) and brought out the food fast. I did ask for the chutney and crackers after the meal came out -- last time they served it first, so now I know to request it upfront. No biggie to me! Everything tasted authentic, you can tell they don't cut corners. The decor has that real Indian charm too; idols, warm colors, the whole vibe. It stayed quiet during lunch which was actually nice. And honestly, lunch for two adults and a kid in Montclair for $23? In this economy?? Wild. The food looked and smelled so good we dove right in before taking photos (no regrets). I'll 100% be back, either with my family or solo when I need a good, comforting meal. Chatni's officially in my Montclair rotation!

For me Memo Workend. Used to come here with my insane ex monster years ago. Food was not very good this time. Doughy cracker crusted lamb samosas and tepid white rice and unpleasant naan on the stale side. chai tea had a chewy film on top of the liquid like some sort of skin. Service was atrocious. Horrible. so bad it was almost a joke. i wanted one of the samosas wrapped for home (God knows why). Mr. Casual comes out and i kid you not: cavalierly tossed a sheet of tinfoil at the samosa. i asked "so i just wrap it myself and stuff it in my pocket?" So he left - not to get a container or a plastic bag as asked (rain) but just went in the back to get me off his non-working back with my horrid demands. place was empty. from time i mistakenly entered to time i gladly left. before that he brought out my coke - or was it? a can that said "Bro" on it. And when he sauntered out much later, post-samosa, i had to ask for a glass. I was supposed to slurp out of a can? after eating one doughy samosa and putting the dirty plate on the other side of the table, i watched as he later came to toss the rice bowl and chicken tikka marsala on the table. Doesn't remove filthy dishes (see pic) and i had to say "whoa hold on! Can i have a plate?" Annoyed, he turned to another of the all other empty tables, snatched a table off that and clatter dropped it on my table. Twenty years ago, that would have escalated to more than this post. So bland food and lousy service. Chianti can't ni seem to get either right for. $52. But at least my crazy ex wasn't there - just her irritating spirit,

We looked over the menu for a while and decided to try their dinner combo for two. They have a vegetarian option but we went for the meat. The tikka masala was delicious, very flavorful. Their rice is perfect. I had never tried sag paneer but it was great too, huge hunks of cheese swimming in a spinach sauce.
