Besides offering multiple types of sweets/Barfi, there was Ras Malai and even a running chocolate fountain to dip marshmallows and strawberries! + Buffet is available during lunch AND dinner! Such a rarity for Indian restaurants to offer buffet during dinner hours too. + Weekend dinner buffet was reasonably priced at $29.99 for adults (as of January 2026). Kids under a certain age are free. + There was live entertainment during the weekend dinner buffet! I wasn't familiar with the songs being sung by the 2 performers, but we lovvvvved the festive atmosphere as the Indian customers seemed to be familiar with the music. I came here for the weekend lunch buffet. Nice part is that that dont require all the people to order the buffet. That helps alot since small kids dont make a dent in buffets. I did order a cheese dosa for them. It comes with a coconut chutney and mild sambar. Both of which are spiced mild. The doses are huge though! They could have been easily shared between 2 kids. Now to the buffet. They have a large selection of vegetarian options. Quite a few paneer plates, indo Chinese selection, assortment of apps including pani puri. They also have a small dosa station that is not terribly busy and will make naan to order. All the items were mild to moderate spiced. Nothing over the top. They dont judge you for going for a second plate. The mango dessert was delicious and they even have a ice cream. They hit you with an automatic service charge which was surprising. I LOVE the vegetarian buffet. I love that everything is vegetarian so I don't need to ask questions. Everything I tasted today, as always, was delicious. They deliberately change what they put on the buffet, so as not to bore the regulars. I recognized the delicious chili noodles and a few other dishes and tried a lot of new things. Lots of fried things, as usual. Lots of spicy and sweet things. Chili noodles and vegetable cutlets were my favorites today, and Halwa dessert. They have more variety of desserts than many other Indian lunch buffets. Garlic naan, brought to table, was delicious but very oily. Not sure why it needs oil. They serve an affordable lunch buffet for $18.95 (I believe it might be weekday only), and dinner for $21.95. Buffet is a great deal considering their entrees go for $16-17. Chand palace is a fantastic restaurant. Sunayana made the best dosa I've ever had, I had the cheese one, and it was so cheesy and the dosa was crispy and had a fantastic texture. Sunayana was also very nice, along with our waiter. The buffet had a good assortment of food, from curries to soup to even a chocolate fountain! My favorites were the fountain and the gulab jamun. The restaurant also was ambient, with good lighting, several beautiful chandeliers, and the waiters were well dressed. They do include a service fee, however it is reasonable, especially considering the fact that many people do not tip at buffets, and this place also had a lot more service than other buffets usually do. Overall, I'd rate it. 4.6-4.7 stars because while the food is good, it's not something that is particularly fancy or special. However, for it being a buffet, and also for being in an area that doesn't really have anything gourmet or fancy anyway, it is fantastic. So, I give it 5 stars! read more

We stopped in at Subzi Mandi for staples, were starving, saw Chand Palace next door, the rest is history. First off it was New Year's Eve so that might have had something to do with why they tried seating us at a tiny half table, abutting the buffet, with 2 chairs facing the dessert section. (Like getting put in detention.) The place was almost empty but, when questioned about all the other tables, was told they're reserved. We thanked them and were ready to leave but, then were seated at a normal table by the door. Another couple who came in after us did end up in detention though. (BTW those empty reserved tables, were still empty when we left about an hour later.) The buffet (we didn't know there was no ala carte service) was decent but, not stellar. Don't get me wrong. there were A LOT of choices from the pickles/condiments/raita to entrees and desserts, so yes there was a large variety. Just many of the offerings were very thin and watery, lacking the main ingredient in the dishes's title. No naan or roti but, one dish served with hamburger buns? Also, why Thai dishes? I had vegetable biryani, paneer tika masala, vegetable jalfrezi and paneer with a red, sticky, sweet, spicy sauce. I tried a few other items, nothing stood out. I did go up twice and never made it to dessert. Service a little lacking, water glasses filled continuously but, dirty plates uncleared. As part of New Year's Eve we were served something sweet and pink in champagne flutes with fresh mint leaves, and a papadum with some chopped onion and tomato over the top. I'd maybe give them another shot based on all the great reviews from actual Indians, just not on a holiday with reserved seating and maybe order ala carte. The food here tastes really good. It had been a few years since I had been to Chand palace. The Diwali bufffet had their famous Dhokla, super yummy. Weekend had veggie puff, Thai basil fried rice, the yummiest pani puri, noodles, all tasted perfect! The garlic naans were amazing. Just when we thought we had no room, we tried the amazing chickoo icecream, the rabdi, malpua, chocolate covered strawberries(you get to make your own), jamoons..absolutely amazing taste! Went to brunch with my family on the Sunday after Christmas. Although the outdoor maybe appear underwhelming, the inside more than makes up for it. It is a very clean restaurant and great for larger parties. Food: We ordered many different items off of the menu as we were a large group. My favorite small plates were the zucchini sticks and the spring rolls. For the main dish, we had ordered many different dosas and malai kofta, which is my personal favorite. The dosas were alright and the malai kofta did not impress me very much but nonetheless I enjoyed my meal. We were hoping for the buffet option, so hopefully we can try that one day. Also, the chai is also very good. My parents love chai and are very particular about their chai, so the fact that they liked it means something. Service: overall, the service is good. They were very accommodating and was able to modify the dishes to our liking. They dressed very professionally. The food was out relatively quickly considering we ordered a large amount of food. Ambience: very clean, very organized. Not much decor to indicate that I was sitting in an Indian restaurant. We've tried almost everything and it is delicious. We've done pickup and order in for carry out and they've gotten most of everything right. Their chutneys taste great. We've ordered a handful of times but have never dined it yet. They seem to be easily packed on any given dinner time, so call in to make sure just to give a heads up to those conscious of heavy crowds. They have buffet which looked like had great options from cooking style in different regions of india. The only thing I'd suggest for the owners is to keep the food consistent - sometimes the taste and quantity of our delivery/ carry out food sometimes is more or less lacking. Also when you order multiple dishes that comes with complimentary rice, they consistently give 1 container for all orders instead of giving 1 for each entree, so it makes it difficult for each person to take rice with them. Great spot for quick working lunch. Buffet was fast and very good. We had a host of Indian descent who even gave it a thumbs up!

We arrived for lunch around 12:10pm, apparently NOT a good time as there were approximately 25-30 people in the buffet line before us. After patiently waiting, we did eat amazing Indian food. The salad section, with Indian appys and chutneys were first and solid starters. Then came the myriad of vegetarian entrees. They had a chickpea dish, spinach with corn, cauliflower, paneer Tikka masala, aloo with chilis, some noodle fusion thing, and rice. The last area was mini dosas and Naan with sambar. I enjoyed all of the offerings, except the noodle fusion, not quite my thing. The desserts were a slight disappointment. Best by far was the warm galeb jamun. The ice cream and mango liquid were both ok. The chocolate covered wafers were good but misplaced to me as "Indian ". We had at least 20 people in line when we went back for seconds. .. Overall, all was very good, but I would be hesitant to return on a weekday before 1:15pm when the crowds seemed to miraculously vanish. read more

Excellent vegetarian Indian buffet that is as good as the original Piscataway location. I was happy to see that there was a location closer and stopped in for the lunch buffet. There were a large assortment of dishes available including daal, an aloo dish and plenty of dishes with cheese curd. Bread was also available at the buffet and you are given complimentary dosas which was a nice touch. Everything I had was very fresh and flavorful and I would certainly come here again instead of your standard buffets where everything is basically chicken with too much ghee.
