I remember my first time visiting RYDE a year ago, and it was such a fun experience. It was my…read morefirst cycling experience, and the staff was friendly and made me feel so welcomed. Fast forward to now, when I renewed my ClassPass for a month trial, RYDE was the very first class I booked because it was my favorite. I've tried other cycling establishments, but RYDE reigns superior. The studio is clean and modern. And the bathrooms are equipped with everything a girl will need, and they have Aesop soap! That's all that I need to say. I am a regular rock climber, but once I phase out of that, I can definitely see myself being a RYDE regular. The classes are high-energy, and the instructors are fantastic at keeping you motivated. I thoroughly enjoyed my classes with Gustavo and Leon. If you are on the fence about giving cycling here a chance, please do yourself a favor and try it out. It is like a party, but you're putting your energy into biking. I'm not sure when I will be back because I currently cannot justify paying almost $300 a month for a membership, but I look forward to my next visit to RYDE!

I've taken multiple teachers, and all have been great. Be warned, this is the type of cycling class where you'll be doing arm choreography, but that's what makes it so fun! It's a really clean space, and the room is dark, so you don't have to worry about all eyes being on you. I wouldn't say it's easy for beginners, but you can always adjust to your needs.

No, they don't have multiple classes running every hour of the day in multiple studios. But Met Dance has been around for a long time (they're celebrating their 30th anniversary this year) and it is obvious that they are an integral part of Houston's dance heritage. I have never taken a class here where I felt judged by my skill, my body, my outfit, or anything else. All of the instructors I have taken class with (mainly the ballet instructors) are amazing and each have their own unique strengths, so you really cannot go wrong with any or all of them. Roberta is an efficient instructor who runs a solid class; Alisa is great for beginners as she is thorough with breaking down steps; Michelle is kind and encouraging; Dominique is lovely and gives the BEST grand allegro combinations; Pattie is an absolute queen and strikes a great balance between perfecting your technique while also developing you're a artistry. Michelle and Pattie also run pointe classes for adults who are interested in getting on pointe, and all of the instructors I've taken class with are agreeable to me doing barre en pointe since the pointe classes don't fit in my schedule. Most of them are beg or beg/int classes, but the instructors trust you to modify as needed. Last but not least, the community at Met is incredible. The instructors remember your name, your story, and welcome you warmly every time. I'm glad to have found this dance family in Houston :)

I did see they do not allow refunds on their website and a reviewer below said they did not refund her class pack despite an extenuating circumstance which you should be mindful of!

I'd describe Barry's as a boutique fitness studio that offers a great workout with energetic and motivating instructors with fun curated playlists. Barry's follows a cadence for muscle group focus that I appreciate. There is also a fuel bar that serves nutritious and yummy smoothies. I find Barry's a fun way to get in movement and adds to my workout routine.

Riti was our instructor for RUN X FULL BODY & she kept the upbeat vibes the entire time! It was honestly impressive & equally shocking how amazing her classroom management was haha but she kept us motivated for the whole 50 minutes. There were various sets where half the class was on the treadmill and the other half on the floor. The treadmillers were jogging, sprinting, & everything in between. The floor people were doing a lot of squats, bodyweight & weight lifting exercises. Then every few minutes the people on the treadmill would switch to the floor and vice versa. You really have to listen carefully and pay attention while the instructor is moving around shouting out what you're supposed to do. Parking is in a lot or on the street, both requires payment. There are lockers to store your belongings as well as showers in the bathrooms. They provide towels at eac station for the class as well. You be assigned a number for the treadmill & the floor section. This is definitely not meant for someone who gets overstimulated easily but if you like chaotic exercise classes, I highly recommend. Try it out at least once, you won't regret it!
