The venue is pretty amazing with its tall ceilings, unique light structures, and great location. Lisa and Chris are not only easy to work with, they also have chairs and tables to host numerous people. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, we had to cancel the event a week before. Despite the contract not having a refund clause, Lisa worked with us to reschedule our event or offered us dance classes at the studio as a courtesy. Theses dance classes have been nothing short of amazing! It has been such a fun experience. Agne, our instructor, is very patient and a great teacher. We are hoping to continue dancing in some form or capacity even after our classes come to an end. I highly recommend Love Dance Houston.

Rebecca was very quick at responding to our emails and is really informative in each email she sends you. There is a 5 class wedding package that worked perfectly for us. A few months before the wedding, we weren't sure if we wanted to spend extra money on taking dance lessons for the wedding, but as the date was getting closer, we were feeling the pressure of putting together something, so we decided to check out yelp and came across The Dance Whisperer. We felt the price was reasonable, and I had confidence based on reviews that Rebecca would be able to help us from looking ridiculous during our first dance and sure enough she made us look amazing! Everyone raved about how great we were and even my mom said our first dance was so amazing and my mom RARELY compliments anyone or anything. We scheduled our five sessions after our first class to make sure we could get in the books before the wedding and that was not a problem since Rebecca had perfect times for us in the evenings after work. It really didn't take too long before we could get some basic steps down and tried incorporating some interesting turns into our routine, and she was very patient in making sure both of us had a firm grasp before moving onto the next level. Our wedding dance had some interesting turns, spins, and steps with a big finish incorporated into it. The stress and anxiety of it all leading up to "The Big Day" didn't help, and at one point my hubby took a wrong step, but was able to correct it flawlessly without anyone noticing--all thanks to her! Each appointment is 45 minutes. EXACTLY 45 minutes. If she says be there at 5:30pm, you better not knock on that door at 5:29pm (and steal a minute from the previous couple) or at 5:31pm because you already cut into your time slot. Of course, you can double book. That said, she is very professional and methodical in her guidance, and seems to live and breath the art of dance!

The reward far outweighs any tension of not getting it right - you will get it with enough reps and openness to coaching by one of the best. Let's just say that dancing was never my thing. I avoided it at weddings and other events, and…read morefelt totally out of place when "trying" to country western dance (had the two left feet thing working). Then one day, purely by happenstance, I found myself walking by the newly opened Fred Astaire Dance Studio located in Bellaire, Texas. I went in to simply ask what type of lessons they offered, and (to my surprise) I left having signed up. Wow, what a great decision! Since that day, they have taught me how to Two Step and Polka. I have also learned the Waltz, the Rhumba and the Push Pull. To my pleasant surprise, I actually enjoy these dances more than the country western dances (note even close). While I truly enjoy learning how to dance, I keep going back because of one thing - the people; the community! All of the dance instructors are consummate professionals (experts in their craft), and teach to the needs and objectives of the student. Most importantly, they make learning fun and relaxing!! Outside of the lessons, I have made new friends at the studio (others like me learning to dance) and have even started going to the owner's (Ellen Ekkart and Peter Ekkart) other studio in Clear Lake for their open dance on Friday evenings. If you are looking to learn how to dance from accomplished professionals in a fun environment, THIS IS THE PLACE!!!

I looked at classes, but realized until I can get out of my own head and loosen up the classes would never happen. I found Uliana on Yelp and decided to try my hand, or foot so to speak, at individual instruction. She is very accommodating and we corresponded a few times until I could get my schedule lined up. We immediately started on some latin dances, cha cha and salsa, and have remained so over the last month of lessons. I have taken two a week. She is very patient with me as I learn to move my feet. I am sure it does not help that I have not gone out in public, but that is not her fault. I believe a couple more lessons may get me over that hump. I would highly recommend her if you want individual instruction. I am so glad I did and thank her for so much help.

But from the very first day, Michael made us feel completely comfortable and capable. He met us right where we were, with so much patience and positivity. We came in with a few song ideas, and Michael walked us through how to find the tempo and understand what kind of dance would suit us best. When we changed songs a few weeks in, he rolled with it effortlessly and reworked the choreography without missing a beat. He never just told us what to do, he explained WHY certain moves worked, asked great questions, and guided us in a way that felt collaborative and supportive, not intimidating. Michael made us feel secure, celebrated and confident. Something that we didn't expect was how much our dance lessons would become the calm in the middle of all the chaos of daily life and wedding planning. Our sessions with Michael were relaxed, fun, and gave us space to just be together. No stress, no pressure. It became something we truly looked forward to every week, a little moment of peace where we could forget the to-do lists and reconnect. It definitely brought us closer as a couple. Michel truly thinks of everything--asking about the shoes I'd wear, the dress skirt, the outdoor gravel/dirt surface we'd be dancing on, and tailoring the choreography accordingly. He really is a master in every sense. Hannah was also absolutely amazing--super warm, welcoming, and helpful with everything behind the scenes. Between the two of them, we always felt like we were just hanging out with good friends who happened to be dance pros. The studio itself is gorgeous; spacious, gorgeously decorated, clean, and full of people having a genuinely great time. There was zero pressure or pretense, and there was always a lot of laughter and fun going on. It's been a year since our wedding, and we still talk about going back--maybe for some country dancing this time. Signed my three year old up for the circus totz class and he had a really great time. Coach K was so patient and kind with all of the kids and while there were different ages and levels, she still worked with each kid to make sure they got the help they needed.
