We've had Rise for about 5 or 6 years now. Speeds seem ok for us. Main problem is that when it rains we lose service nearly every time. Have gone several days without service before with only a pittance of compensation. Obtained Rise Broadband service September 2025. Had issues here and there but often more so than not in the middle of the night service goes out. I've called a few times, but yesterday May 12 we had an outage then May 13 the usage has been intermittent. I called and was told I wouldn't get any money back on a service I'm paying for but not receiving. The service got worse shortly after hanging up with the rep being completely out, so I called back and of course they're closed. I will be canceling this service and in our upcoming HOA meeting and within our minutes I will be stating my experience and tell everyone there is a deal with starlink online and I've heard they have great service and customer service. Even though it's remote with very low population density, my already poor speeds tend to drop constantly to the point that I can't even connect to a remote meeting or stream TV without interruptions. We had to cancel our service which has been meh for the last five years. It was extremely difficult to do requiring multiple phone calls until finally talking with a retention specialist. Our service was supposed to run through the end of December, but they went ahead and shut it off right away, even though we were prepaid. I do not recommend. Consider Starlink. read more

I dont have Rise and based on the reviews I wouldn't want it. My experience with Rise starts with a hang-tag on my front door letting me know Rise is coming to my neighborhood and the tag says someone will let us know when the digging would start and what to expect. Nope, didn't happen. We woke up to our yard being dug up. I spoke to a manager on site and he said no one has time to tell everyone what's happening. Well buddy your sign says otherwise. Not one person on my street will ever use this service. We have Spectrum, it's fast, reliable, and a bit more expensive but we pay for what we get. The process of installing fiber optics with no communication was a joke. So is their service from what I can see in the reviews. Do your research before using any company. We live in a rural area so we are limited who we can use. It takes Rise 2 weeks to come and install our tower. Not happy about that. It worked OK, until it didn't a couple weeks later it quit working altogether. It will take another 10 days for a tech to come out and check it. He claims the tower was not high enough. Another 10 days before 2 techs can come out and raise the tower. The techs get here and it is too windy to raise it and it would be another 4 days until they come back. This is ridiculous. I said no thanks not interested. I get connected with their ADT Sales Rep anyway. So I hung up. No means No! It's time for me to revisit my one star review of Rise. Over the past year or so their service has improved considerably. For about the past 10 years I have been buying 2 internet connections to my home - rise and viasat. The issue i had with both was reliability, so I basically had one to back up the other. I think about a year and half ago Rise did some major upgrades on their tower. Since then the reliability has been extremely good, and I generally get the bandwidth I pay for and sometimes a bit more. I work from home and i monitor my usage closely. As Rise continued to provide reliable service I found the viasat bill more and more difficult to stomach - their reliability was still low - and I rarely got what i paid for. So Rise's increased performance has allowed me to have Viasat disconnected and a second Rise line added to my home for backup purposes and I'm saving money. I'm not protected against their tower going down - but it has been a long time since that happened, and yes, I am knocking on wood. Additionally, I have a difficult install . The Installer has been great, gets things done, and doesn't mind thinking outside the box. So a pleasant update for Rise - They have made great strides, I sure hope they keep it up. read more

I really wish I could give Rise more stars, but unfortunately things haven't improved much since my last review. Their equipment is unstable and it goes down fairly ofter. That wouldn't bother me as much if they would get it fixed a little faster. It seems to take days to weeks to get the tower working again. In an age where internet is as important as water and electricity, having no internet hurts more than ever. I'm actually okay with the one star I'm forced to give, as the service is adequate when it works. If Rise can find a way to improve the stability of their equipment and the timeliness of repairs, I would give them full stars, as I'm sure most other customers would do as well. read more

Should be called Rise Narrowband! Constant tower issues & dropouts in service. Telephone support is ok, but it's obvious they are not well trained. The router they set up lasted one day before going tu as did the second. DO NOT use the ethernet cables provided with the router. They cannot handle the data streams & it says that in the deco app during set up. Thanks to their lousy equipment we are without internet for four days. This company is an f'n joke! An update. Called today & they had no record of our calls. Finally, I got someone in Technical Solutions who said the person that took the original call misclassified the type of call. I have been having persistent billing issues since the summer before last. I had been paying via their online portal for years with no issues when suddenly my payments began to fail to process. The system would indicate that the payment was processed, but then the money would never be taken out and the company would then later hit me with a late fee. This did not occur with every payment attempted, just some of them. No pattern could not be determined. I was using the same computer, same browser, and same payment method as always. Fast forward through several rounds of phone calls and emails with billing and technical services and the problem was never resolved. I resorted to screenshotting every payment and emailing them confirmation of every payment, but still some went through properly and some did not. The company refused to acknowledge the problem instead insisting that it was somehow my fault despite there being no change on my end. I was told I was responsible no matter what, even if their system did not work. This is now the only bill I pay over the phone as their payment portal is untrustworthy. All I ever wanted was to pay online like I do every other bill. Fixing this appears to be beyond the reach of this company. In addition to all not this, their hold times are interminable and if you choose to stay on the line instead of picking the callback option, the system will eventually boot you and you will loose your place in line. I have had no internet all day today. I have a ticket number from the one time I was able to reach a human, and I now cannot get through to them at all to finish dealing with the issue. I need service for work. My husband needs it for a conference. This supposed internet service provider can't handle even the most basic of tasks. We have awful internet in America, but if you can avoid this company, do so. They are terrible at what they do. Addendum: I finally reached a customer service rep to schedule an appointment to repair my equipment and the soonest they can come is two weeks. Two. Weeks. Do not switch to RISE internet! First they hit the water line in our area 2 times while putting in their new fiber lines, then conveniently cut the spectrum line while trenching. Brand new equipment is finally installed in our area and they reach out to see if we want service. I sign up, thinking FINALLY a new Internet company. The guy comes out yesterday, spends 5 hours out here and can't get their services working. The main hub or whatever it's called on the street is broken. Brand new equipment and it's not working. They will have to come back with another team hopefully that day. It's now been 2 days and when I call to ask, I kid you not, the only response is that fixing it is not a priority and there is no ETR on a fix. They can't even tell me it will be resolved this week or this month. And that was a supervisor for the field team. WOW. I have had this service 8 months. Have had 2 modems replaced because they just stopped working. The first time I got a really nice customer service person who made sure I got my modem within two business days. Being that I've only been with rise for a few months I thought that was really nice of them to do that once again the modem crashed I called rise broadband I tell them I also tell them that it goes out at night in the middle of the night for 20 minutes, but I don't complain about that because it comes back on. now the modem again has crashed a brand new one does not work. I asked if they could once again expedite one and get it to me within a couple days. This was Monday night. It's now Thursday still no modem. I've called him. They said they will give me a tracking number. No tracking number has been given. I called again this morning. Their excuse was because I called late. Monday means it left the warehouse on Tuesday and it takes 1 to 3 days I said OK today's Thursday nothing the guy says it'll probably be there tomorrow which is Friday. I don't know if I want to continue my service with rise broadband. I think when you have a customer service person who gives excuses as to why you can't speak to a supervisor why things are delayed that's not customer service that's an excuse so on a scale of 0 to 10 with 10 being great and zero Ben. read more

My Internet went out last Wednesday night, and I called Thursday morning and spoke to tech-support who walked me through steps to correct my Internet outage. They said it could be completed so they would be sending out a tech and I need to be home 1230 to 430 on Friday. At 5 PM on Friday I called and was put on hold for 15 minutes while they waited for dispatch and I was told that the service technician would not be out and I would have to reschedule for Tuesday 1230 to 430. I have sat again and called at 5 PM Tuesday- now and they have rescheduled me for tomorrow 12:30 to 430. I have explained numerous times that I run a business from home and cannot go to a coffee shop to use Wi-Fi because I must sit here and wait for the technician for 4 1/2 hours, but there is no call and no-show. I called and was advised it was a battery issue at the tower and a tech was on the way to fix it. having heard this before, I knew no one was en route. sure enough, the next morning it was still not fixed. I called and was advised someone was en route to fix it (I guess the tech from the night before got lost). 17 hours after the original call I called yet again and was advised they were still trying to determine the cause (thought it was the battery) they don't know when it will be fixed. "Cut down your 50' tree or install a telephone pole in your yard," was the solution offered by a Rise 'tech,' after responding to the intermittency and inconsistency of our ISP 'service.' (it's hard to call it 'service,' when it fails to work) Anyway, never mind that I refuse to hack down a beautiful ash tree that I planted 35 years ago. Never mind that our HOA does not allow residents to build massive antennae's randomly wherever. Never mind that Rise's advertised up and down speeds are a joke! The only reason we don't dump Rise is bc we've been with them since the LPBroadband inception in the 90s and ALL of our business cards, stationery, etc., is labeled with our lpbroadband emails. Now we simply tether through our 5G phone to conduct our daily business. My counsel to new ISP customers is to NOT to go with Rise Broadband, if you have any love for trees or good customer service. read more

Have been a Rise customer since Jan. 2019, and for a year and a half had great service, even compared to the Xfinity service I had prior. I've had the "up to 25 mbps" almost the entire time. Up until August of this year, I was getting consistent speeds close to 25. However, beginning in early august, I noticed that around 7:00 pm my speeds were cratering; I was lucky to get 2 mbps. From then to now, I've had multiple calls to tech support and 3 techs come to my address to see if improvements could be made to my dish receiving signal. No improvements were made, and in fact the last tech informed me that Rise simply had too many customers on the tower and needed to do improvements to that to improve speeds. I called tech support to verify this, and after a ton of run-around, was finally told that this was indeed the case and to expect such atrocious speeds going forward. Rise needs to conduct itself in an honorable manner and don't advertise products that it cannot provide. Besides the awful reps trying to cover their own asses, I cannot stand paying $75 a month to be consistently frustrated day in and day out. This is quite simply unacceptable. If you're looking for an honest company providing an honest product, look elsewhere. If Rise is your only option, peace be with you. read more

Dialup is a lot better, I have had issues since day one. I don't expect much, but the amount of downtime/outages is unacceptable. I am paying for 100 megabit business service and I'm lucky to get 30. The customer service department is very use to dealing with complaints and is very quick to pass the buck blaming your equipment. Sometimes their engineers will mess up and tell you what is really going on, only to have other engineers deny it later. So they either lie to customers or their internal communication is non-existent. Most of their issues are customer service/management related. The employee's don't seem to be too happy with their managers from what my wife and I have gathered. Bad management is usually the foundation of these issues.... read more

I decided to go with Rise despite the bad reviews. I was hesitant but it was the only option besides a Verizon hotpot. My speeds are much faster than I expected and was very surprised when I ran the speed test. As a company they could do better aligning their departments. Also, knowledge/experience of the installation techs widely varies. I will report back after I've had service for a few months. ETA: Since performance varies depending on your LoS/Distance to the tower, I would recommend signing up for month-to-month until you've had time to test your connection and make sure it's sufficient for your needs. read more

I need to begin right off by saying we are currently in a rural area in Idaho and were previously a rural customer of Rise (when it first launched in Loveland Colorado by my co-workers at HP and it was called LPBroadband). So #1 - Brand Loyality accounts for my choice of going with Rise when we moved to Idaho in 2018. I agree with much I've read about Rise on-line, customer reviews, etc. which point out the pluses and minuses of Rise. We do not have accessibility to fiber optic where we live so the options for very high speed is a problem. But having said that, we also don't game, video chat or require megabyte downloads. You get the picture. To sum this review up, we are very satisfied with Rise. The best thing is that I actually can talk with customer service reps here in the U.S. I've met the nicest people, who I can clearly hear and understand (my husband and I are in our late 70's). Reps work from home throughout the U.S. and I like supporting U.S. workers. Pricing seems reasonable. Outages do occur and sometimes it takes complaining to get an engineering tech to remedy dropped packets. But for us, this company and people seem to be doing a good job for our internet requirements. read more

We used Rise for a couple of years because the carriers were limited in our area. Seems like we were always on the phone with them about billing or service problems. Recently, after another rate increase, we decided to change. We found another provider who had faster service for a lower cost. We cancelled our Rise account in the middle of the month & they assured us we would get a refund as long as we returned their equipment within their time frame. We sent it back immediately but never heard back. Today, after about 2.5 months, I called to follow up. The rep today told me they we Would Not get a refund since we voluntarily cancelled in the middle of the term. He said whoever told us about the refund was wrong. They claim to be the best company with the best internet services WRONG. I was promised a refund for the modem and the dish when I was done with it...this was a lie also. Don't belive anything the promise or say as an offer. My service has been crap, super laggy and always drops connection for any and everything we watch. Either on the computer, phone, or TV not thing works, we watch a loading screen more then our content we pay for on other platforms. In the end of all of our trouble we still got charged for going over our allocated "150" units of service in our plan. Every 10 after they charged a large fee. This fee I knew nothing of until I started receiving my bill way over the promised monthly. They are terrible at answering questions, terrible at answering their phone, and terrible at good service. I really want to work with these people. Their customer service reps and local installers are friendly and trustworthy. However, 3 months of service... here we go... Purchased a 50mb package and receive 1-4mb down speed consistently. 5-10 full outages per day. An SOS on the tower with no information on when it will be working again for 3 weeks. I was told one thing by the sales person and charged another. Probably spent 12 hours on the phone with them so far. I'd attach a photo of the speeds Ive gotten over the last few months but suffice to say, it's terrible. I moved to them from a 10mb plan w/ centurylink. Centurylink would average 3x faster with their 10mb plan than the 50mb plan with Rise (so far). Century Link also wouldn't have gone down multiple times daily. I'm going to see this through to find out if they can provide service that matches their customer service. We'll see. read more

Thanks Rise broadband for wasting over two weeks of our time "trying" to get an installer to my home in which he spent a whole 10 minutes before saying this home can't have internet due to no clear line of sight to a tower, the previous home owner had rise broadband for 10 years at the same residence. After which we called and ask for a second opinion due the fact the previous homeowner had rise broadband and many of our neighbors have the same company. We were told that because of the installers "review" they wouldn't be able to have a different installer come out for a more experienced installer. Since we had a great customers service over the phone we thought that the rest of the experience would be as smooth and that the company would be more reputable. Unfortunately, the experience with the technician was entirely different and frustrating. The technician seemed as if he was bothered to be in our home to partake his job (everyone can sense when a persons energy is releasing i don't want to be here), it took him less than TEN MINUTES to make an assumption that we cannot have internet when rise broadband's equipment from the previous owner is still present and still installed. Long story short it is very frustrating to see a company take their "technicians" word than their customer when the experience with the technician did not even seem as if he was trying to do his job. read more

We live in a rural area that was serviced by a wonderful locally owned broadband company with excellent customer service. The company was bought by Rise Broadband and since then we have had a terrible experience. First, they enacted data limit caps. Second, signal quality degraded immensely. Third, phone (tech) customer service is absolutely terrible. Initially, when Rise's customer service would not solve the problem I could go on Rise's Facebook page and post about the problem. Usually this would facilitate an escalated complaint and I would get contacted by a staff member would take care of the issue. However, it appears Rise was getting so many complaints this way that they changed their Facebook policy and now delete tech complaints that are reported or 'aired' publicly via Facebook. My latest problem is low speeds or no connectivity. When I do connect speeds such as 1 mbps down and .039 mbps up with numerous dropped packets are common. We have had antenna problems that have exhibited this type of behavior before, however Rise refuses to send out a technician. I have called their tech support four times in three weeks. Each time I am told it appears to be 'network congestion' and to wait a few days while they look into it further. They say it should clear up: It doesn't. No offer to pro-rate service. The attached speed test photo was run WHILE I was talking to a Rise Telephone Tech Support at their request on my latest phone call. Still they refused to send out a tech and just said they would 'look into it further.' Luckily for me I now have another company that I can switch to. I called them and they told me that 'Rise Communications' is their best referrer. They told me they are getting many new customers that are unhappy with Rise Communications service. I scheduled a service installation Wednesday evening online. I received a call at end of business Thursday informing me I need to reschedule as they overbooked. I did not agree to rescheduling and told the person I would see someone Saturday(today) between noon and 4:30 PM. The installer (that I was told was extremely overbooked) showed at 10:30 a.m. After searching for a signal, he tells me there are too many trees. This is a rural internet service provider, of course there are going to be trees. I don't feel there was ever any true intent of installing my service today.
