Rise Coffee is a small locally run coffeeshop located in Nisku inside the Leduc County Business and Entrepreneur Centre. This is also the location of Chartier's Mother's Bakery so it may smell like fresh baked bread when you get inside. That's a separate business though.
Rise Coffee has a small coffee menu, but they've got a few standard coffee and tea drinks, and some some seasonal offerings. They do sometimes have pastries, but you'd need to get there early in the day because they'll sell out.
Why I love Rise Coffee is because of what it supports. It was started by the Riseup Society, a charity (CRA registered) in Leduc that offers support for those experiencing domestic violence. And while I wish we lived in a world where this wasn't needed that's not the case. And if I can support Riseup, which I'm sure has helped many people, by purchasing a latte then I'm happy to do so. All of the proceeds from Rise Coffee goes back to Riseup Society. And you can book their coffee cart for special events including weddings.
Rise Coffee is in a strange location, being in the middle of an industrial park. There isn't a big sign on the building saying Rise Coffee (least not from my last visit), but if you see two big red Muskoka chairs outside you're at the right place. Rise Coffee occupies just a small space in this building, which I'm sure is used for conferences and events. You can take your drink to go but there is lots of space to stay and enjoy your drink too.
Rise Coffee is a nice place to stop and get a coffee and to support a great organization. If you're passing by Nisku between 8am and 4pm during the week then take a detour and stop in at Rise Coffee. read more
