Risky's BBQ at Sundance Square is a must visit! The food was delicious and the portions were generous! Ryan Jones was an exceptional server. Ryan was friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He was knowledgeable about the menu and provided outstanding customer service. I would highly recommend Risky's and be sure to ask for Ryan! Vicki and Wes Morton read more

Well what a disappointment Stop by last night 06/27, the place was not busy at all our waitress was good she periodically asked if we okay , appetizer came out fairly quick but that was it , she took a while to come back she took the order and I asked if the " all you can eat ribs were a good choice she said yes so I did , what a mistake that was , our order took over 30 minutes my sons fries for his chicken sandwich took longer not sure why ? The first rib plate (4ct) were okay a bit overcooked and over charred but the refill (2ct) were though couldn't even bite into it , my overall experience of this overhyped place was awful, will not recommend to anyone. read more

Service was good and quick, inside was cool and nice compared to the temps outside. Lol. It's very low lit so I found it difficult to see the menu well. 2 adults and 2 children. I went with the all you can eat beef ribs and coleslaw. GF had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. Kids had tenders and fries and pork ribs and mac and cheese. We had the brisket queso as an app. I found all the food to be mediocre at best. I was very disappointed being that we were at the stockyards in Texas and the food was as unseasoned and as bland tasting as it was. I've had far more superior BBQ in Jackson Ms and Baton Rouge La. I had the deep eddy sweet tea vodka drink and it was good. Then we just had regular beers. Kids meals were good portions and came out quick. I found the chicken tenders were kind of tough to chew, my 1yo wasn't having it. Coleslaw was not good. Fries were really good and Mac cheese was about normal. It was a busy place but we were seated immediately and food was out quick. My first round of ribs weren't as good as the second round. Second round had more flavor and more meat, still prefer Boondocks In Jackson MS. The brisket queso was decent. And the chips were like a cross between tortilla but were kind of tough to chew. Bathrooms were fairly clean. Wrangling two kids I forgot to take pics. read more

Great ambience. Excellent food and drinks. Wide variety of menu items. Reasonable prices. Savannah was my server and she rocked. I had a frozen raspberry margarita which was excellent. And the smoked brisket nachos with no jalapeño which were very good. read more

Good BBQ depending on what you order. Some of the items on Riscky's menu are spectacular, and some are just subpar. The brisket isn't great - it's a bit dry and flavorless and arrived at the table cold. The Mac n cheese tasted like it was cooked from frozen. The sides of coleslaw, green beans and baked beans were alright, nothing to write home about. On the other hand, the ribeye, BBQ shrimp, and fried okra were especially good (the okra was super good actually). Overall, the food was pretty plain and doesn't taste like BBQ that was cooked with love. This spot is 10/10 for vibes and atmosphere though! Riscky's is situated right at the start of the daily cattle drive. With a ton of both indoor and outdoor seating, you would have the perfect view of the festivities. Inside is super cool and a perfect spot for escaping the heat. The music and decor are great and really encapsulate the western vibes of the Stockyards. Our server was very sweet and attentive. The food came out pretty quick too. Depending on what you order, you may love or hate Riscky's but it's worth a shot! read more

Fort Worth has some amazing barbecue. Sadly, this once-great place just isn't it anymore. The staff are lovely, but the place feels tired. The menu is good, but the execution doesn't live up. Pulled pork was dry, and brisket was a little tough. The shaved smoked turkey sandwich was good, though. read more

This place is such a hidden gem!!!! Service, outstanding!!!!! Food - DELICIOUS!!! And location is fun and not too crazy in a good way! Came in for a solo dinner and Steven was my server. Hands down one of the best experiences I've had in a long time! Received several recommendations and info about most of the menu and definitely got upsold on ordering way more than I planned to some of the honorable mentions - the brisket bites appetizer was a 10/10! The 2 meat platter was crazy filling and yummy, brisket is my top favorite and definitely was amazing, but the absolute star of the show is their bread pudding dessert! It was one of the best I've had in a long time and was pillowy soft and paired awesome with the sauce and the ice cream on the side, highly recommend trying it!!!!! The place itself is fun, and easy going in the best way possible and definitely not too loud. So if you're in the area and need a pit stop, make sure you make it this one! read more

Ordered the combo got 3 meats - pork ribs, brisket, and catfish. Also got the jalapeño sausage which was good. The rest really was not. The pork ribs were so dry! I was pretty excited for my first time ever eating Texas BBQ as this restaurant was conveniently across from the hotel I was staying at. Figured after checking in and a long flight, I'd walk across the street to the nicely decorated restaurant and enjoy a nice lunch meal. For a Monday at lunch time, the place was pretty empty, which I found a little odd. Service was prompt though, checked in often and without hovering. My table ordered fried corn and fried pickles for appetizers and they were decent, the fried corn the favorite of the table out of everything. For the main entree, I ordered the brisket plate which included beans, bread, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes. The sides were all forgettable but the most disappointing part was the star of the show: the brisket. It came with four large pieces but they were so dry and lacking any real flavor, the only way I could finish it was drenching it with their BBQ sauces. Thinking it was just mine, I checked with everyone else who had the brisket (three others) and they all said the same thing. So, my first real Texas BBQ meal was memorable and that I won't forget, but for the wrong reason. read more

Stopped into Riscky's for an $18 BBQ platter expecting a smoky Texas experience, but left a bit underwhelmed. The meats were tender enough, but they lacked that deep smoke flavor you come to Fort Worth craving. The sides didn't help much--tasted like something from a box or can, not made fresh. It wasn't awful, just not memorable. Middle of the road. read more

Heard about this restaurant from a few people. It was directly across from the hotel I stayed in. Walked in and immediately the staff was very engaging, all with smiling faces. The waitress was Teagan and she was great. She offered suggestions from the menu and was very helpful. I ordered brisket queso, smoked ham with mac and cheese, green beans and a baked potato. The mac and cheese and green beans needed some seasoning but everything else was great .... especially the brisket. The chips that came along with the brisket were freshly made and came out hot. I will definitely visit again. read more

Riscky's just is what it is. The meat is okay and sides are on par. Crazy enough, the chicken was the best of the three meats, with the brisket and beef ribs lagging a bit behind. So I came in a group of 14 for FFA and the service was super disappointing. Our server, Robin, barely paid any attention to us. We were respectful and super excited to eat here, so it really sucks that we didn't get a good experience. read more

Should have read the reviews and stars first. First they brought me some soggy onion rings sitting in a pool of oil with ranch and until I said something the waitress says I don't think they brought you the right food. Expected a big juicy sliced brisket sandwich. It was flatter than a flat tire. The brisket was discolored looking, the sausage looked like it was raw. The potatoes salad looked fresh off a delivery truck from HEB. Very disappointing for being in the stockyards and expecting a whole different kind of food. Below mediocre and food is not worth it. The only thing I would say the price range for the area is probably about right. Order a cheeseburger kids meal that looked a whole lot more appealing. Look at the pictures that are posted on reviews they are accurate. read more

Horrible service!! Waitress was very snarky and rude. The food took forever (over an hour). Granted the manager did give us 50% off our check- which was still $63! I can't imagine paying $120+ for the crap that was served to us! If the waitress wasn't so rude it wouldn't have been a huge deal. I understand being busy, but being rude and hateful is no excuse! This Riskys was much nicer than the one in the stockyards. More room in our server was excellent! I believe her name was Keegan and she was so nice and personable and very accommodating to our various requests. I came for the beef ribs all you can eat . i'm sure my appetite has changed quite a bit as I could eat just the ones they gave me. I tried to go for a second plate but no appetite. I usually love fat on the ribs, but not this time. But the ribs were still wonderful without barbecue sauce which is the way I like them. I did not know that I could have broccoli with my ribs as it had never been offered to me at the stockyards. This restaurant just had a nicer feel and more homey than the stockyards. I would definitely come back for their food and wonderful hospitality! read more
