I love this place. Food is always hot, well seasoned and delicious. Staff very prompt and friendly. Menu variety is great and overall it is a very nice family friendly establishment Even when they are really busy, the wait time is not unreasonable. I highly recommend this place if you love good food, especially good seafood. read more

The food is really good and a great ambiance for either day night or parties. Would highly recommend

They earned that 5 star from me tonight. The service was stellar (Adrianna). Atmosphere is just right. The food was amazing. Definitely try the seared Sea Scallops! Best I've had in a long while. Also note worthy are the Beer Battered Onion Rings. So good. The wife and I had a fantastic date dinner. Check them out. They do not disappoint! Very nice dinner! My family and I celebrated my birthday this evening. They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead 30 minutes prior to arrival. We got there at 5:45PM and we walked in the door and right to our table of seven. The decor and atmosphere are very inviting. The space is good with a fantastic saltwater fish tank separating the too main seating areas. The server was very pleasant and knew the menu and specials very well. They have something for everyone, but main focus is on ocean life. Fish, shrimp, scallops, crab legs & cakes that are offered in several different options. You can order most fried, broiled, blacked, or grilled. I had the Surf and Turf. 10oz Strip and blacked scallops!!! The scallops were my favorite! So tender and flavorful. The Steak was cooked slightly more done than I asked for, but I made it work. Everyone was very pleased overall! It was a great night! I recommend checking them out for very good spot for seafood. We'll be back. read more

Very popular restaurant in Chesterfield, Va. Sadly they don't accept reservations unless your party size is over 10. We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed! The service was great. Ambiance may be lacking if you're looking for a romantic date night. The food was delicious. We ordered the crab bites for an appetizer to split between three. More than enough to share. My husband had the she crab soup and loved it. For his main entree he had the Riptide Special which had broiled shrimp, scallops, and crab cake. I had the crab cakes with a baked potato. Our guest chose the spring salad with salmon. No room for dessert. If your in town give this place a try. Think they are open for lunch as well. read more

Visiting family from out of town and decided to check this restaurant out. Went for lunch with six people. The server was overwhelmed and the kitchen was pushing out cold food intermittently. There were multiple parties in excess of 6 folks. Please get your servers and kitchen staff some help. read more

Liked the gator bites! The Riptide Special was delicious. The scallops, lump of crab seasoned very well. Even the black beans had nice taste. The only problem was the wait. There was a bigger party ahead of us that seemed to be the focus. Other than that, food was very good! read more

Two days in a row disappointed! The customer service an speed of service is awful! We had to ask for our order an then ask for the bill. The crab dip appetizer is amazing! Delicious an highly recommend...the main dishes were great for steak an swordfish an ravioli...but sides were cold an tasteless...hard cold baked potatoes, leftover burnt Brussel sprouts...an little hard nuggets referred to as hush puppies read more

Eat in service and serves lunch or dinner all day except Monday. Great service and even better food! Started with stuffed mushrooms, then ordered the fried shrimp basket- super delicious. Bloody Mary was the perfect accent. My wife ordered the salad with blackened salmon. She ate it so fast, I couldn't get a pic!! This restaurant has a great feel and a definite must for all seafood lovers! read more

Relaxed, upscale ambiance. Good, fresh food, with some unique options (gator bites!). Bonus: the patio is very kid-friendly as long as you're willing to monitor them. read more

We have been to Riptides on several occasions and have enjoyed the cusine. The service is always exceptional. Emily served us tonight and she was highly professional, very personable and a delight. I ordered the swordfish special and was disappointed by the wafer of fish I received that was also lacking flavor. It was so thin that it couldn't help to be overcooked. My wife's mahi mahi was also thin and over cooked. We were very disappointed by the poor quality during this visit. I will have to think twice before I return. A message to Riptides management: You are destroying the reputation of your restaurant. Clean up your act and make the proper corrections. read more

Got the cat fish. Was great. We got alligator bites as an appetizer. Wish it could come as a meal. The waitress was so welcoming. I got my son fish bites. He loved them. Hubby got the burger, said it was too much but still cleaned the plate lol. The sauce they use for the crab cakes is what I asked to use for my cat fish and it was to die for. This is a great place to a welcoming environment. Just need you guys to start taking Apple Pay !! read more

My husband and I had dinner at riptides this past Thursday night. The weather was beautiful. The outdoor tables and music was lovely and the staff polite, friendly and efficient. My husband had the lobster ravioli and enjoyed them very much. I asked for salmon to be cooked, medium rare. I was told that they only cook it well done. I ordered the mahi-mahi because I thought it was a thicker piece of fish and could with stand a little more my dinner for skinny slices that was so well done. It had to be cut with a fork. The fish had absolutely no moisture left in it that was a little bowl on the side to eat the pieces, I got tired of chewing and didn't eat the rest. I would never order fish there again. I would go there because the atmosphere at night was lovely. The staff members were great but who ever heard of a chef that couldn't cook fish to order for the customer. read more

I have lived around this area all my life and i have never gave this place a chance. My family and i finally came in for a bday celebration. I must say the food was absolutely devine and the service was great. I had the black bleu burger and it was the best burger i have ever eaten. Yes iam a burger guy and omg it was great. My wife had the shrimp platter and according to her she loved it. I unfortunately have to say why 4 stars and not 5. Well the prices are absolutely to expensive. The portions arent as large as you would think by looking at the prices. I do highly recommend going , the restaurant is very comfortable inside, the vibe is really cool and they have a bar as well. No worries non fish eaters they have plenty of options chicken, beef, salads etc.... read more

The food was on point! I got the Poke bowl with grilled shrimp and my husband got the grilled chicken Cesar. Both were fresh and delicious. But the real stars were our server, Candace, and the deserts. Candace was wonderful. Very attentive and friendly. I got the coconut cream pie and it tasted just like my mom's. The patio was wonderful and we enjoyed our dinner. Will definitely be back! read more

The service is good and the food it's OK, nothing to rave about. The problem is that the prices are indicative of a much higher quality of food and it's just not there. The fish and chips is horrible, the salads are good and the grill salmon is OK. If the prices were lower I would go there for a quick lunch more often but the taste is not there at these prices. For me is either or, either you have OK to average food and great prices and service or you charge more, whatever you want, but provide exceptional food and service. read more

Must update. This Place Has It Down!! $.75 oysters steamed to perfection, and Oh, MY, the She Crab Soup! This is not your average thick, floury cream sauce with a teeny lump of crab in the center....this is a perfectly seasoned, just crabby enough Bowl of heaven! I believe it is the best bowl of soup I've ever had! The service remains excellent, the prices most definitely reasonable. I'd love to try other things on their menu, but to do so would mean I must pass on the soup and oysters, and I haven't been able to do that yet, although everything else smells and looks divine as it passes our table... The atmosphere is great, too! I'm just a happy person when I go here. Can't wait for summer to dine al fresco! read more

We are huge fans of this restaurant!! We came this time on a Friday night just after 6:00. Being a rainy and cold night it was surprisingly pretty dead! The restaurant is always so clean and staff is super friendly! We were quickly seated. We always order the she crab soup for an appetizer to share. We probably should both get our own because that's how amazing it is, every single time. One of the best she crab soups we've ever had!! For dinner I ordered the fish tacos which are made with blackened mahi mahi. I'm not even a fish person but these are to die for. Once you add in two sides you will leave overly stuffed if you eat everything! My husband ordered the shrimp Alfredo. It's very creamy with fresh shrimp. If you are a pasta lover like my husband, you should get this!! He also got a mixed alcoholic drink, the cherry limeade. He really enjoyed it... so much that he took a picture of the ingredients so he can have it at home. read more

The food here is excellent! Besides all of their amazing seafood dishes, their wedge salad is my favorite. The staff is kind and helpful, we love coming here! read more

The best things to order on the menu are the crabcake balls, coconut rice, s'mores cheesecake and bar drinks. Sadly the seafood I ordered which was the flounder did not taste fresh and was served to me in halves; first half with my entree and the second half once I started to eat. Apparently the fish split in half during cooking, although I appreciate the honesty it was strange to have a half of piece of fish plated. The calamari was bland, the hush puppies were overcooked so nothing would prompt me to return here outside of the coconut rice which was prepared with shredded coconut and in coconut milk making it sweet. I have never liked coconut until tasting that dish. read more

Yummmm! The parking lot was packed and we were afraid we'd have a long wait but we didn't. Seated in 15 minutes, table for 2. We started with 2 for $20 apps and Sangria Saturday!! We added the shrimp tacos + fish fry as our entrees. The 3 tacos were filled with fried shrimp and the Whiting fish was flaky and seasoned and fried. Our only issue is the seafood pasta (ordered to go) came and as we bagged it, it spilled in the bag and created a mess in the bag, booth, and table. read more

Well my wife and I haven't been in years I decided we should go for the half price oysters on Thursdays and I wanted a good fish and chips. I discovered the half price oysters are maybe worth being half priced maybe. Do not order fish and chips unless you want fish that is the consistency of a fish fillet at McDonalds and fries not a true fish and chips meal do not order. Our meal was over 80 dollars I don't complain in a restaurant I believe it's rude to the servers I wanted to. Do not go to this establishment if you are expecting good oysters good fish and chips and you are expecting the happy hour prices because those did not reflect on my check help this place shut down read more

Nice. Too close to county dump and busy road out front. Seafood selections seem to be made from frozen entrees. Staff are friendly

Never disappoints! Drinks were great, ambiance was inviting, server was on point, and food hit the spot.

I ate here years ago, and I remember loving the shrimp scampi being so great. My memory of how great they are was tarnished by my recent visit. The food was pretty overpriced and it was oddly bland. My crab cake was mostly breading, which is disappointing considering how it was described as lump crab. They charge way too much for lackluster food. I am sad that it is not as I remembered. read more

Emily Emily Emily what did you do to me. Our server Emily turned me on to blackened mahi mahi tacos and suggested to get side of corn to add to the tacos. Let me tell you these tacos were awesome and the corn was an extra special added touch. They looked so good I forgot to take a picture and next thing I knew they were gone. 3 dollars off any taco plate on Tuesday what a deal. Did I mention how good they were oh my so delicious. My wife got fish and chips and fried Brussels sprouts she love her fish and chips only complaint she had is that they were a tad greasy on the plate but none the less very good. Fries for us both very good as well. Brussels sprouts fried also very good Emily Emily why did you sell us that delicious pudding cheesecake with cream and strawberries so friggin good that was not part of my diet. With the world the way it is today it is so refreshing to have such good food and such a wonderful smiling server that really made our experience awesome. This was our first visit here and I'm sure you will see us again soon taco Tuesday is calling my name already and I'm still in the parking lot filling this yelp out. To the owners I say job well done this place is a very clean and you have hired some great people I seen all of your servers giving great service. When we sat down the place was empty but by the time we left the place was packed. If you like seafood this is the place to be for a decently priced awesome experience! Ask for Emily she is an awesome server and even better person. Thanks for the service with a smile Emily we will be back mostly because of you!!!!!! read more

Gave this restaurant a chance, local spot I always wonder what it was all about. The service was ok, the waitress seemed as if she did not k how to waitress. The crab dip is AMAZING! Best thing on the menu and I loved it. The waiter was kind and attentive to our drinks.

Had a great meal with husband and Mom, weekend before Mother's Day. This was also a big prom night. Good for them, bad for us. Our wait was 40 minutes that turned into 1 hour 5:30 to 6:30. Seafood platter, oyster dinner and an Awesome Shrimp Poke...all fresh tasting and really good. Waiter forgot clam chowder. Would have given additional star but service slipped just a bit on this busy night. Coming back soon for the poke bowl it was sooo good. Will get there earlier. read more

Driving to this place at night makes it easy to pass by but I found it. I had a taste for a crab cake sandwich and this was the closest place to offer one. We ordered a crab cake, fries, spinach, a bacon blue burger with fries and broccoli and a side of hush puppies. First, I'm disappointed that the order taker didn't tell me that hush puppies automatically came with each entree. I basically ordered a side of hush puppies for nothing, and they were terrible so it was a total waste. The Crab cake and burger were both good, but all the sides were awful. They all lacked flavor, even just some basic salt and pepper. This is something that would need to be fixed before I went back again. read more

Dinner July 24 Nice local place. Great variety of choices. Crab Dip appetizer with toasted points were very very good. The toast points seemed fried and then covered in old bay seasoning - BUT, they didn't have enough toasted points for the amount of dip..need more toasted points for amount of dip in bowl! Had a house salad with the Parmesan Peppercorn dressing - which was really fresh. The bread they brought out went great with the salad. Had the Scallops. They were on the smaller side, but pan seared perfectly and there were more than I expected. baked potato and corn were nice additions. The Salmon looked really good and those that had it said it was good. Prices were reasonable. I would go back. read more

What a great restaurant! Friendly staff, very clean and upscale building/furnishings, and the food is awesome! We were on business and our waitress said it was no problem to issue separate checks. (Yay!) We ordered eggrolls, hamburger, the scallops, shrimp and crab dinner, and a Caesar Salad. Everything was great. The eggrolls were crispy and had a nice dipping sauce. The salad was crisp Romaine and large pieces of sliced Parmesan cheese. The dressing was nice and creamy. The seafood dish was cooked in a light butter and garlic sauce. I thought the shrimp was on top of rice, but turned out it was crab meat! It was sooooo good! Sides were spinach and coleslaw and they were also very good. The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection and the accompanying onion rings were super delicious. If I'm ever back in this area, I will definitely come back! read more
