They really need to add acoustic tiles to the room or let diners eat in what used to be the main dining room. We go for wing night but dont choose the Forge for a nice dinner with friends. It's a shame it's so noisy.

Items we ordered as of 7/2026: - Prime Rib - $40 - Only available on Fridays and Saturdays until sold out, this was probably one of the best prime ribs I've had. Their Au Jus has something special in it as it has a perfect combination of savory and sweetness that just pairs perfectly with the steak, mashed potatoes and carrots. 100% would order this again. For $40 it's also a bargain! - Onion Rings - $8 - Huge and crunchy! Cooked perfectly. - French Onion Soup - $12 - Flavor-wise it's good but we wished there was more cheese! Also we wished it came out hotter. - Entree Caesar Salad - $15 - A very good Caesar salad with crisp romaine lettuce and a good helping of parmesan cheese! - Baked Haddock Piccata - $30 - Haddock was perfectly cooked and the carrots and mashed potatoes it came with was delicious! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would definitely return the next time we're in the area!

This is a really great lunch spot in Central Vermont. I stopped here for lunch on the way to…read moreMontpelier. Staff is very friendly. They offered me use of their WiFi. You don't get good cell reception in VT if you have Verizon. I ordered their baby back ribs with fries and cole slaw. I also ordered a Boylan's Diet Cola which comes in a glass bottle. I like how they served it with a slice of lemon. Ribs were excellent! My recommended is not to put the ribs on top of the fries. Some of the fries were soggy as a result of the plating. Cole slaw was tasty and fresh. This business is inside of an old house with a front porch area for outdoor seating. Overall, great quality of food. I would definitely return here again.

When you measure Maple Soul against restaurants in Vermont, it is a three star restaurant. If you measure it against restaurants in New York City it might be closed. If you measure it against restaurants in Rochester Vermont...it's a five stars because it's the only restaurant in the valley. After many visits to Maple Soul I can tell you that you must request the Chef not put in fistful of garlic into any of his recipes. He loves garlic and it stays with you for days, not a few hours. I'm serious absolutely days and days. I tell you this not to hurt The Restaurant, or hurt the Chef!!, but to request that he not do that for any of your dishes. Especially the Caesar salad! A great Chef!! offers you a hint of many flavors. It doesn't quite happen here. He seems to choose one taste and allow it to overpower the entire dish. I can tell you that the ribs are very good, the mac & cheese is very good and the goat cheese salad, delicious although way too big... unless you want to make an entire meal out of your goat cheese and beet salad. It's just too big. The Restaurant could save money. Less is more. I'm always wary of a restaurant that serves TGIF size portions. My chicken marsala could've definitely served 2 people as an example. Possibly a half a box of pasta? Do I recommend you go. Absolutely it's a delightful experience. Just don't expect a five star experience like most of the reviews report. If you've got no other choices, this is a five star restaurant. That's why there are so many five star reviews. Why do we continue to go? Because there are no other choices! So, be willing to drive about an hour to an hour and a half to other restaurants if you are visiting Rochester or the White River Valley if you want an absolutely excellent meal.

The hostess was incredibly personable and sweet. I'd had a crap day and really just wanted a beer. It was 5 minutes to close. I figured it wasn't going to happen, but I figured I'd look at their draft menu for the next day and get an idea of what I'd want to eat when I come back. Not only did they take great care of me and get me a MUCH needed beer, but when I came back to eat the next day it got even better! I couldn't decide which beer I wanted. The girl was SO nice and gave me half of each. Good call, because I definitely liked one more than the other! Now HERE is the BEST PART: the worthy burger. Sweet Jesus. I heard angels. Seriously one of the best burgers I've ever had. Ever. The bun was perfect and THOSE PICKLES! The cheese was perfectly melted. Just the right amount of secret sauce. Did I mention the pickles were amazing? I also ordered truffle fries with Parmesan and a kid size order of the Mac and cheese. Because real cheese. They weren't bad. The truffle fries were on the milder side, but tasty. Maybe a little soft. Pro tip: get the pesto aoli to dip! I like homemade Mac and cheese and I hardly ate more than a few bites. I had heard great things but eh. Maybe I was just in love with the burger! I didn't get a picture. My phone died and I couldn't wait do yourself a favor- get the worth burger with some extra pickles on the side!
