Below mid Tex Mex -- nothing to write home about! A few friends and I stopped in for an early dinner. Definitely make reservations, because it gets busy! The restaurant is very large though, so there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the Cheese and Onion Enchiladas. They were a bit bland and there really wasn't much flavor. It was served hot, which I appreciated! Overall, wasn't particularly impressed and probably wouldn't return!

Rio mambo is one of our favorite places, we come here every few weeks. It's been a family favorite for the last 10+ years! Love the chips and salsa.

Rio Mambo is always a hit! The food is delectable, prices are reasonable and the service is A-1. Great place to stop in for lunch or a cozy dinner. Family vibes are there too. I miss it and need to get back soon!

4/2025 only happy hour menu and only current promotion or special

Attended hh on on April 1, 2025, which was a Tuesday. I'd previously checked the company website and they were offering the Tuesday night family meal deal that they have offered for several years. Upon arriving, I was told that menu no longer existed. Also Tuesday Thursday is gone. No current weekly specials. Additionally happy hour menu changed. They have a short and condensed menu offering no meal entrées. Just a few simple appetizers. The service was OK however it appears that the service at the bar is secondary and based on the fact that many people walked in and when they learned there was no Tuesday night meal deal anymore they left. The one shining light is the margarita prices are fair and they are good. Additionally, you can get a shot of well tequila for five bucks at happy hour. If you sit at the bar, be careful when I was sitting at the bar at the top of my barstool broke from the bottom and the chair fell back, luckily employing cat like reflexes I was able to grab the bar and put my feet on the bar rail and not fall back and smash my head. I will not be returning to this restaurant only because of the lack of what appears to be control of the menus based upon statements made by the manager. Additionally, the location isn't the best traffic wise and of course I don't need help falling off a barstool.

This was my first time at this rio mambo, I have tried another spot previously. We split the appetizer platter which was delicious as you can try the nachos, quesadillas and chicken Laura's, all great. Then we split the taco plate we asked for hard tacos and did beef it was really good, served with rice and beans. We sat at the bar and our service was good. My hubby had the margaritas flight I had a mambellini all the flavors were delicious. It was quiet the day we went but it's big in the inside and has modern decor. I'd definitely come back

We have tried this place for a couple of times and love the food and service is great. The managers came by to ckeck on all the tables, making sure things are going well. The patio is nice and spacious, perfect for brunch and happy hours when the weather is nice. They also offer a great week day happy hour with drink and food specials.

This past weekend, my family and I visited Rio Mambo. The ambience was on point, and the food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our server was amazing--kind, patient, and so attentive. The general manager even came by just to see how things were going, and you don't do that often at restaurants so we really did appreciate that. The entire atmosphere was welcoming, and we can't wait to come back again!

The best brunch experience! Neydalin ( Naydalin ?), was so kind and patient with us , zero rush and she helped us to substitute sides and add a pancake etc . Super food , and we had wonderful service. Going to add this one to the rotation

I am actually very surprised I have not ever been here having been a resident of Grapevine/Colleyville for quite some time. It was really delicious! We came during lunch on a Tuesday and the atmosphere was that of a typical Tex Mex restaurant. Everything was clean and orderly and smelled amazing. As for the service, it was exceptional. We were a table of 3 that had many food allergies and our waitress was very patient, accommodating and we all received our orders as requested. I had the fajita beef tacos on corn tortillas and no onion - it was so good I forgot to take a picture and had to take one of my daughters instead. Hands down one of the most filling and tasty taco plates I've gotten from the Tex mex restaurants around town. Salsa was fresh, chips were crispy, I don't think you can ask for much more!

    Outdoor patio, uncovered seating.

We had seen the place on Yelp and planned to grab something quick to go, but it turned into a great stop. The location is fantastic and convenient near the airport. The hostess was welcoming right away and directed us to the bar so we could place a quick to-go order. At the bar, the bartender gave excellent service and convinced us to try a couple of tacos along with the yuca fries and plantains we originally planned to order--and I'm glad he did. The Tacos Al Carbón were outstanding: grilled fajita beef with sautéed poblano and onion on flour tortillas topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The beans and rice were just right, and the plantains with coconut sauce were a perfect addition. The bartender also recommended a Stone Delicious IPA, which made the short wait enjoyable. We grabbed a Tamarindo agua fresca and bolitas de yuca for the road--light, flavorful, and perfect for the drive. Great food, great service, and a great find near the airport. Definitely worth stopping in.

A Home-Cooked Feel with a Few Rough Edges…read more My first visit to Dona Maria started on a positive note with a warm, friendly greeting that made me feel welcome right away. I ordered the Calisticas with chicken and the Pernil (braised pork). The crispy plantains were one of the highlights of the meal, providing a nice texture and crunch. The pork was tender and juicy, although I unexpectedly encountered a large bone joint in one portion. The chicken cups were less successful. They were noticeably oily and lacked the juicy, flavorful bite I was expecting. The standout flavor of the meal was actually the chimichurri sauce. It added brightness and depth, and I found myself pouring it over nearly everything on the plate. Overall, the experience felt very much like eating at a friend's home--comforting, unpretentious, and made with care. That home-style atmosphere extended to the food preparation as well, which appeared informal (I did see prep without gloves) and may not appeal to guests who expect a more polished restaurant experience. While there were some enjoyable elements, particularly the hospitality, plantains, pork, and chimichurri, the execution of several dishes was inconsistent. A decent meal with a welcoming spirit, but not one that fully lived up to its potential.

You get two salsas and their black bean dip. I am a green sauce girlie, and this one brings a bit of heat. Also, that black bean dip... fantastic. On this day, I ordered their beef fajitas off the lunch menu. It is a smaller portion than dinner, but still plenty of food! I have never had the fajitas here, and the meat was tender. However it was marinated in something that had some sweetness that was not my favorite. Though that's just a personal preference, I don't want sweet meat. My typical go-to's are the fish tacos or the chicken a La Mexicana. The A La Mexicana is my absolute favorite. It does bring some spice, and they do warn you. I ordered iced tea, and unfortunately, ours was the only table that never received a refill, which was disappointing. Other than that, everything was very satisfying. If the mood strikes, I'd like to come back and try other dishes. The Orange Roughy Ceviche came in a larger portion than it looked in the photos, with a very fruity flavor and plenty of fresh fish and shrimp. Since I can't handle spicy food at all, I had to carefully remove the chopped jalapeños, but there weren't too many, and I was still able to enjoy the dish fully. For my main course, I had the Tropical Salad topped with skirt steak. The honey balsamic vinaigrette paired beautifully with both the steak and the fruit. The meat was tender and of good quality, and I was very pleased with it. My husband ordered the chimichanga.
