    I love any place that serves sweet plantains. Fry bread tacos were good. First time I've preferred chicken over any other meat, though the pulled pork did taste good. Look forward to snacking on the little churros later.

    It was ok. I ordered a loaded steak burrito. There was hardly any steak in it. It was mostly rice. Not worth the price.

I…read moregot to thinking about good BBQ, and it made me think of one of the best I've encountered, Hard 8. I used to travel a lot for work, and would hit this place when I could. Suffice to say, it left a lasting impression on me, because here I am, almost a decade later. The atmosphere is everything a Texas BBQ joint should be, and having folks enter from the pit area was a stroke of genius. It really sets the expectation & mood. There's "decent" BBQ places here in Ohio, but there's no question Texas does it best, and Hard 8 is a true standout! (LOVE those charros!) The hostess was welcoming right away and directed us to the bar so we could place a quick to-go order. At the bar, the bartender gave excellent service and convinced us to try a couple of tacos along with the yuca fries and plantains we originally planned to order--and I'm glad he did. The Tacos Al Carbón were outstanding: grilled fajita beef with sautéed poblano and onion on flour tortillas topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The beans and rice were just right, and the plantains with coconut sauce were a perfect addition. The bartender also recommended a Stone Delicious IPA, which made the short wait enjoyable. We grabbed a Tamarindo agua fresca and bolitas de yuca for the road--light, flavorful, and perfect for the drive. Great food, great service, and a great find near the airport.
