I'm not sure the reason this place is so under-rated. Perhaps our experience was also greatly improved by our server. Levei was a great server; attentive and provided honest food suggestions. They were extremely attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. Based on recommendations, we ordered crab and chile fundido and pork belly quesadilla. This establishment could be more casual or more upscale. It's a great mix! Food was delicious! It was well seasoned and cooked. The fundido was cheesy and delicious! I loved the chips that came with it; to me, they seemed homemade...light and crispy! The quesadilla was also flavorful with a generous portion. Overall, I would eat here if I'm staying at Tamaya Resort again (which I likely will).

Stopped in here for the first time and were greeted with menus within a minute. We sat inside, but in the afternoon hours, the outdoor patio is in the shade. They pretty much have a one page menu of starters, street tacos, flat breads and five main dishes. There are 4 flat screens tuned to sports channels with two of them at the bar where you can sit and watch them. The place has a nice relaxed vibe, and the drinks are on point. It's a nice space to visit whether you stay at the resort or not.

    Cheers to Green Chili Margaritas!

I must admit, we were initially disappointed that the Rio was the only food option for the resort this weekend, however the food and drink was delicious and we are looking forward to returning for day 2. Valerie, at the bar, was most helpful in cocktail, appetizer, entree and dessert selection. The green chili margarita, chili crab fundido, chili relleno, and chocolate torte made for a perfect dinner. We opted to sit at the bar even tho it was early with plenty of tables to choose from. Even at the bar, it was quaint with an amazing view of the Sandia Mountains. Valerie made our experience delightful! Thank you!

It's a lounge that can get busy both inside and out. I preferred eating here than Santa Ana Cafe. The food is better even though they have a small menu. They have a full bar and busy at night. Staff is friendly and accommodating....always checking on us. Ahi salad was a surprise and soooo ono (delish)! It had corn, tomatoes, tortilla strips...a different take. This was more a out west type or Mexican. The Cottonwood Cesar was similar... Mexican salad...creamy Cesar...premixed for you My steak was under cooked...French fries were perfect! I sent it back to fully cook it...don't like steaks to moo back at me...Lol! But my gluten free pepperoni pizza was fantastic...savory...lots of sauce and cheese. Yummy! Ciao!

We had a lovely dinner here tonight. The elote corn dip with chips was good. I am used to a warm dip. This was a cold creamy dip instead. The cheese platter had 3 hard cheeses, including a smoked cheese. There were a few dried apricot slices, some sliced baguette bread, and local honey. The burrata salad with escarole was good, with heirloom tomatoes. Yum! The steak pomme frites had wonderful garlic fries with a chunk of skirt steak on top and blue cheese butter. Service by Cori was very attentive and appreciated. The manager, Elmer checked in with us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. We had a nice time chatting with him and learning about his service in the industry. He has learned well. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Pardon my bias. Always a good time here so I'll keep it short and sweet. The ambiance is the best thing about this place. Second is the staff. If you are staying at Tamaya stop by and have a drink. I think I've been here maybe 9-10 times now and am just now writing a quick review. My advice is to grab a drink, sit out on the patio, and sip some to the beautiful views of the Sandia Mountains. Nuff' said. Recommended!

View from our house. We came here looking for good atmosphere, service and food. We only got service. Might as well have stayed home.

This is our second time here. The first time we sat inside and just got a cocktail. Service was efficient but flat. No personality and I'm mot sure she wanted to be there. Cocktails tasted watered down, but the atmosphere was good enough that we returned. All the heat lamps and both fireplaces were on, even though there was no one sitting outside and it was warmer than todays visit. Today is our second time here. We sat outside by the fireplace that looked so warm and inviting on our previous visit. It wasn't on, but we figured it would get turned on soon. The outdoor dining area was lively this time. We asked our server if the fireplace could be turned on and she said she'd call the engineer to come and light them. About 30 min passed and it wasn't on, so we asked our server again. She said she got busy and would call them now. 20 min later, someone came out and lit the fire pit, but not any of the heat lamps or the fireplace. My husband called the front desk and asked to have them turned on. She said the engineer could come and turn them on. By this time, others had come in from the outer edge of the patio, commenting that the fireplace and heat lamps should be turned on. Another 20 min passes and no heat. My husband calls again and gets the same response. We are now inside and sitting by the huge fireplace. Someone could have just said they couldn't turn them on for whatever reason instead of leading us on. All of this was made worse by the food. I have to say the cocktails were better this time. We got the chips and chili queso. We got what looked like the bottom of the bag broken chips and flavorless cheese dip. The only thing flavorful was the one sprig of cilantro. The service was pretty fast and efficient this time. We will mostly likely return because of the atmosphere, but will not be expecting decent food or a clean patio and tables. We will most likely order only cocktails.

Stacey was our lovely server last night. Whenever we stay at Tamaya resort we have to hit up the Rio Grande Lounge. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Drinks always well balanced and tasty. Nachos are always on point!

The menu was listed as cast of characters/script, which was lots of fun. Our group was about 20 people, which I'm sure was a challenge, but our server was great and kept us all with full glasses and no waiting. There is a small parking lot with free parking. It was full by the time I got there, but it was easy and free to park on the street nearby. They had a great selection of local beer, wine and creative cocktails. Didn't really try the food but the drinks were great. Would definitely go back!

When you go in the entrance the bar is to the left and is now kinda of a speakeasy. It's dark, nicely done, music playing and fancy cocktails being made. They don't have a huge menu but you can get some appetizers, sandwiches, etc. We had some non traditional nachos which were very good. The service was also very good. When we left the bar, I checked out the restaurant that was to the right when you walked into the front door of the Copper Lounge. It's has a very nice ambiance and it's not dark like the bar was next door. Don't have any other info on it but looked very nice. I would recommend checking these places out if you are looking for something very different from the usual places.

My favorite were the little neck clams, lamb lollipop, and Greek plate. The Saganaki, crab stack, and tiropita were just okay. Lamb Shank: This was one of the best entrees ordered. The meat was fall apart tender and flavorful. The orzo was a little watery but was cooked to the correct doneness. Branzino: I assumed that this would be a whole branzino fish but they had already taken it apart which was nice. However, there were a couple of bones that were missed. Crab Mac: This was cheesy and very good. My only grip is that the pasta was a little overcooked. Service: 5 The servers were patient with all the questions and orders from a big group. They did not make any mistakes and food came out at good intervals. Ambiance: 5 The restaurant would be perfect for a date night. It wasn't too noisy and offered a little privacy between tables.

I wished it was the actual artichoke, missing those being from California. I got the whole branzino with the lemon caper butter and broccolini and it was very good. Flavorful, cooked well and good portions of both. My guy got the lamb shank with tzatziki and lobster mac n cheese. Both were great. He was disappointed that the lobster wasn't mixed in the potatoes, but I thought it was better that way so it wasn't over cooked. For dessert we ordered the vanilla cake with orange marmalade. The cake was warm and had a bruleed crust under whipped creme. Was very nice end to the meal. The ambiance was nice, fancier than what I was expecting. The waitress was great and the guy filling up my water was killing it! The room we were in just to the left of the entrance had some weird acoustics, made it hard to hear my guy sitting right next to me.
