Eric, Richard, and Brandon are fantastic too. I've been coming here for getting on 15 years, and I know I can rely on these guys and this great corner store for any little odds and ends at home, great liquor, snacks, etc. They have stuff that you just wouldn't expect a corner liquor store and market to have, like sponges, dog food, Charmin, eggs, tinned fish, marzipan, and even organic milk. it's possible to put together an entire breakfast or dinner from Ringside Liquor. The things you do to track down a bottle of wine! Ringside Liquor has the charm of a local convenience store, but the inventory of a specialty wine & spirits shop... I don't think I've ever been to a place like this that wasn't a chain like BevMo, Total Wine or even Mission Wine & Spirits (exclusive chain in Los Angeles). Ringside has some awesome craft beer, "craft" wine and a unique selection of spirits at very fair prices. I came in with the intention of buying one or two things not knowing their prices and left with four.. Three of which are bottles from this vegan friendly winery Obvious Wines (in California)... I was speechless they had so much in stock alongside classic and well known wines as well. The fridges are insanely kept up and stocked... I spy rare beer from Stone, BoochCraft and Golden Road... just to name a few. The snacks here are what you'd expect, but it's like one half of the store is isle by isle items/eats and the other is adult beverage treats. The customer service was more than I could expect... Greetings, assistance and a discount for buying more than two bottles. This longstanding liquor store on the corner of Moorpark and Whisett is worth the adventure... While the parking lot is easiest off Whisett you can enter through the side alley off Moorpark... Just proceed with caution since the parking is at an angle with car lines in the opposite direction. This rule applies also for their entrances/exits with on in the parking lot and the other right on the intersection corner. Ringside has a lot of character, that 818 flare and that slightly dated LA magic you'll want to experience in person. read more

Ok when it's open. If I had a liquor store I'd make sure it was open till at least midnight. Don't trust the listed hours, they close most of the time earlier than what's listed. They're nice but I think they are tired of running the business. Hit and miss. I was there the other night at 10:30pm and the doors were locked for an 11 pm closing time. read more

Ringside Liquor - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Studio City, California

So I usually don't shop for a lot of liquor, but I do live in the same block as the shop, and so I do occasionally shop for some groceries here. I can't really talk to the alcohol, or liquor selection, but it seems to me like they have a decent selection. The occasional time that we need to buy a bottle of wine, or get something else, they've always had what we were looking for. And the prices don't seem that unreasonable when it comes to alcohol. Other than that, There are some good things and bad about this place and I'll go into a little bit of detail here. So, the good. This shop does have its own parking in the back just off of Whitset. There are only a few spaces, and I think it shares with some of the other shops, but you usually be able to find a space. They have pretty decent hours, so depending on the time of night you will be able to find what you're looking for when other shops might be closed. I don't know exactly how late they're open, but when I have to go run and grab some milk at 9 o'clock at night I don't have to go all the way to Vons. Pretty decent selection. They don't have a ton of items, but they usually have what I'm looking for. Whether it's snacks, cleaning spray, some emergency dish soap, or just some groceries like milk , they usually have what I'm looking for. Which is nice, because again, rather than having to go to Vons or Ralph's I can just walk up the block and go get what I need here. They have an ATM at this location. And it's especially nice because the ATM is inside. So it feels less sketchy then some other independent, third-party ATMs you might be used to using. They also don't seem to have a policy, about whether you have to be a customer to use the ATM. Now, For the not so good. The biggest detraction from this location, is the price. So an item that you get here, will be a little bit more expensive than it would be if you were to buy it at CVS, Vons, or Ralph's. But, the trade-off there is that you're paying for convenience. Just know that the soap you're looking for, or the milk you want, is gonna be a little bit more expensive than it would be at a grocery store. This location is a little bit run down. It's not "ratty" by any means, but it's definitely seen better days. Normally I would give a place like this three stars, which on its own is probably what it should get. So what bumped it up to four? They are totally dog friendly. I come here in the middle of the night, in the middle of the day, with my dog and they do not care. In fact the clerk is always happy to see him and me. It's nice because I feel like a lot of places in Los Angeles aren't really pet friendly. And for a place like this there's no reason that they shouldn't be. They are also really friendly. The guy who works behind the counter is always in a good mood, and up for a friendly affable chat. He is always nice but it was one late night, in particular, where I was being cornered by a strange man who was making a scene...and he could see I was uncomfortable and so he come out from behind the counter and basically bodyguard/shielded me out the back door and walked me my car. I can only write a review based upon my experiences growing up just around the corner in the 50s. Always had a great time going in to buy bubble gum, candy, a coke, etc. Had my first minor traffic accident in front of Ringside (but it wasn't my fault! Lived at 12440 Landale Street. Funny place: if you pay with a card anything, there is a surcharge of 3.5%. Surprised, I asked about it, and I was shown the small printed piece of sheet with the text in white over black. I said I didn't see it... Within a 1/10 of a second he told... it's there, pointing at it. Somehow, I would have prefer that he tells me to go fuck myself, that would have been more honest! Terrible establishment!! I came in today after work, try to open the door. It was locked and I probably gave it another go until I saw someone in the place. He walked over and unlocked the door. I mention something about " oh sorry i don't know if I was opening it the wrong way". When he said I locked it to use the restroom. Hence I felt terribly bad, but then he said.. " yeah I had to open it because you were the only one trying to get in here". I felt so disrespected and at the same time like a bothered. He gave me the worst customer service as he wanted me out of the store ASAP. He should have put up a sign! Plus this guy always makes me feel that way seems like he doesn't welcome new customers! I don't drink. And when I did, I wasn't particular. Not in the end. I just wanted it to get me there. Fast. So when I buy booze, I need help. It's no secret Customer Service is non-existent but it showed up today when I called Ringside and spoke with Brandon. He was engaging and helpful. I've been in relationships that lack those 2 qualities. But I digress.... Brandon helped me choose the perfect birthday gifts and did not try to oversell me, which L.A. has an abundance of these days. I originally gave this 5-stars. However, after inspecting my receipt, I saw an additional charge: "0.03 Svc" When I called to ask about it, I was told it's "because you used the machine for your debit card." I said I didn't use a debit card; I used a credit card. Told it was the same thing. Part of doing business is taking credit cards and vendors pay a small fee on each transaction. I've NEVER had a vendor pass along this charge to me! read more

As a rule, neighborhood city liquors stores must have 3 main components. Ringside has 2. 1. Honest Cashiers, that look you in the eye. Tell you whats whats on the who's who's, and never try and shake you down on a few dimes or pennies. 2. Selection a proper, in all departments not just the booze. The amount of times I go in looking for what I want and be able to find it, must be equal to the times I go in confused needing something new. Bliss on both ends it required. 3. Must be open Fucking Late. The last sadly I write 2 minutes before 11. knowing I will not make it to my market.:( read more

One of the most favorite places to pick up craft beer in the Valley. I was able to find a bottle of the just released Stone Brewing Green Tea IPA. They had the most variety of Stone barrel aged brews I've ever seen anywhere... I've been around the Valley trying to located the best place to buy craft beer and this might be it along with Vendome and Green Jug. My mind was blown here. Definitely a hidden gem. I've frequented this liquor store for over 12 years. I have 3 stores within walking distance but there's no reason to go somewhere that doesn't appreciate your business. Ringside not only has history but has knowledgable workers. If I want to cook a steak, they can recommend the best wine. They've never been wrong. Plus the craft beer selection is crazy. I almost take 25 mins to figure out which one is the best pick. I would recommend this store and it's not just a liquor store, it's more of an old school barbershop. Check them out. read more

I always come here for chips and candy and they have great selection! I am too young to drink alcohol, but my dad sometimes gets wine and stuff and he always finds what he is looking for. Ringside Liquor is a little gem in the midst of Studio City. I find John, a really great guy who was willing to help me find a great bottle of happiness and point out the good stuff behind the counter. I'm work nearby, so I'm there quite a bit... for my Dr. Pepper Fix and other light snacks. Ringside has fair prices for a convenient store and product moves so there is "no on the shelf for months shenanigans" here. I left with No Black Eye at the Ringside, But yes they have knockout prices! Shop here and enjoy the smiles from John and his crew. read more

A personal favorite of mine. This place has a very nice selection of wine and liquors. If you live within walking distance, they also have toiletries, a small grocery section, and snacks galore. Great for nights when you don't want to drive to the grocery store. John is alway working and is a very sweet man. I have bought wine and food here. They even carry some international candies. This is not your mother's neighborhood liquor store. Although, my mother's neighborhood liquor store is Sam's Club, so maybe that's not a good intro. Yet, the gents who propriate are so affable, informed, interested, and (somehow) sexy, I can't resist. Plus, it's across the street from where I work (so convenience is a factor). Via a friend, they recommended a cabernet that blew (still blows) my pantyhose off. I do not wear pantyhose to this day because of them. Their newest employee is a Dodgers fan, and we dish Dodgers/Angels dirt, and I love it. He is very nice, and knows just where the wine I want resides. I have also often bought(en) a lottery ticket herein, and they always wish me luck. It's a family business, and I know the family (I am friends with one of the sons' wives)--good peeps! Also, once when I (casually) mentioned I loved Anderson Valley brewery's "Hoppin' Otter IPA" beer, they IMMEDIATELY purchased all of Anderson Valley's wonderful picks and have them waiting for me in their abundant refrigerated section.
