Rina altered my wedding dress and did a beautiful job. My dress was very difficult. It needed hemming, and lace paneling on the sides could not be cut because it was not an applique and had an elaborate trim. Rina figured out how to taper the hem and keep the lace trim so the dress looked fantastic. My long lace sleeves were also huge and rigid and she figured out how to make that look nice too without sacrificing the lace. I booked Rina with only a couple months left before my wedding, which I was nervous about, but she had my dress done in plenty of time. She was very sweet and flexible with my appointments (as a bride, you get the shop to yourself and all her attention). She also steamed my dress and did a great job on the bustle. It was definitely expensive. My alterations cost almost as much as my dress did, but it was worth it. Do note that she does not accept cards, and you will need to pay in cash or check. 50% is due at your first fitting. read more

Rina is amazing at what she does but I would HIGHLY recommend only going to her for complicated or highly important items due to the price. I mistakenly took a cheap David's bridal dress to be hemmed and the total was around 200 dollars. Although her work was incredibly detailed and totally worth the price, her talents are much better suited for complex alterations vs. this simple one. Located behind wildflower / whole foods, her location should tell you that she does fantastic work for a higher price than others. Also, if you go to Rina, she only accepts cash and brings some cash on your initial meeting as she will want a deposit. read more

Rina's is one of the best, there's nothing she cannot fix, take in, alter , etc, etc. I know of her through her husband that I was working with , when the Hilton had the golf course. She has taken in my Fjallraven pants, and three shirts, beautiful job on all four. She's at Casas Adobe, on Oracle and Ina. She's always busy, so expect some wait time. Took my token bridesmaid dress of the summer to Rina's for extensive alterations. I needed to hem the skirt (and lining) along with bring in the top quite a bit which had lining and boning as well. She spent a lot of time with me doing the pinning/marking and asked lots of questions to make sure I felt comfortable with what she was going to do. The result was great, but the price tag was pretty high. I spent almost as much tailoring the dress as I paid for it. I may have been able to have the work done cheaper elsewhere. But in retrospect I can see that a lot of work went into the alterations because of the type of fabric and design of the dress. It was well worth the money and my dress looked better than many of the other bridesmaids. Maybe I will even wear this one again?! Rina was also able to get me the quick turn around I needed as well. I took an evening gown to be altered by Rina, and I was SO very impressed with her work. I needed the hem taken up, and I got it back in one week, in perfect length with the hem looking as if it was never altered. She has a lot of happy, loyal customers that take all manner of clothing to be altered, from jeans to wedding dresses. Tip: cash or check only. If you need your wedding dress altered, Rina prefers to have her brides come in the morning (appointment only!) when the floors are still newly swept and there is not much customer traffic so she can devote all her attention to you. I took my rehearsal dinner dress, wedding dress, and a hair piece into Rina to get my alterations done with her. Wow, Rina is a very nice and wonderful lady to be around. I had three separate fittings with her, to ensure the length was correct and the straps were where I wanted them to be. She is very detail oriented and everything turned out just as expected. Yes, she is pricey. I did pay around $500 for 2 dresses, and a hair piece for the following: 2 sets of cups sewn into each dress, straps taken in, belt sewn to my dress, length taken up on my wedding dress (3 layers to my dress), darts put into my rehearsal dress, steam and dry ironing of my wedding dress, and elastic bands put into my hair piece for bobbypins. Would I go to her again and pay the money? Absolutely. Tips: Cash or check only, and if you're a bride call to schedule an appointment with her. You have to leave a voicemail and she will get back to you in a timely manner (if she does not pick up right away). read more

The original hem was quite uneven, and Rina was able to make it look fabulous despite having to work with a filmy fabric and underskirt.
