40 years of iconic service to the Tucson community with bridal, prom , formal wear , suits , evening wear , jewelry , alterations & more. I met Yissel daughter , designer , & model while attending the Fatboy Sandos Yelp Elite event in front of their business on N Stone. Big treed patio in front of the family business . Filled with dresses , suits , tuxedo's , jewelry, everything needed for that special event . A fun fabulous family formal wear business with great pride ready to help you shine in your special event !

This place is amazing! They saved me so much money after I made the mistake of buying a suit online. They were so nice and extremely caring of everything I needed, and helped me look my best on the most important day of my life! Thank you!

I'm a wedding planner in Tucson AZ and I send all My brides here! It was finally my turn to have my dress altered! I decided to plan My wedding in less than a MONTH! I know, that's so fast and I couldn't believe such a popular store got me in!! They are truly amazing people and have the most ADORABLE store you could ever see! Their years of expertise are clearly shown in their hand sewed dresses and news paper articles covering the walls. Even though I outsourced my dress Joyce made a size 12 dress into a size 16! She added chiffon back and zipper and tailored to my smaller cup size giving me the illusion of boobs hahaha!! If ANYONE can tailor a dress without cutting corners is Hem and Her! They are worth beyond EVERY PENNY!!!

Hem and Her was the answer!

I love Hem and Her. The selection, the vibe, the wonderful owners...and the prices are much better than the typical dress shop. My daughter bought a beautiful prom dress; different than anything we cLouis find in a mall, and they guarantee no one else from your school has your same dress! Get a coffee in front at Red Captain Coffee, then enjoy an experience. Weddings, bridesmaid, tuxes, suits, ties, prom, club, quince...

I absolutely loved my experience looking for a bridesmaid's dress at Hem and Her with the owner Joyce who did her best to making the bride feel less overwhelmed by asking the right questions and providing just the right amount of choices. She was also very patient and calm while the bridesmaids took over the entire backroom. The place is definitely disruptive, there's a big dirt lot of free parking, a boho-esque (yes, I made up a word) front yard, and what appears to be just a storefront; however, when you walk in there's a room to your right filled with tuxedos of your choice, the main area with costume jewelry and other fancy stuff, a wall full of wedding dresses and then to the left another room filled with other dresses for prom, evening wear, and other special occasions. Joyous and her husband, I assume, were amazing and keeping a room full of ladies pretty tamed, focused and helped us make decisions. They even treated us to a shot of tequila or scotch in crystal shot glasses of course to take that edge off. Joyce is different in that she takes her time to assess each of our body types without us even realizing it, then she brings out a myriad of dresses and hands them out to each of us, based on whatever you want and she feels would fit the most appropriately. This provides an opportunity for the bride or whoever's there observing to have real life dolls to choose from LOL. She is definitely quite knowledgeable of what needs to be done to make a dress fit just perfectly. It is my understanding that alterations are included in the price of anything purchased from Hem and Her.

Joyce and her husband are very nice and personable people. Joyce had altered my wedding dress and did an amazing job. I will list the pro's and cons. Pro's: -Amazing job with making it fit just right. -Quick turn around. -She wants to do a few fittings to make sure it's Perfect. Cons: -A little pricey, but well worth it. -She mentioned quite a few times that she should have charged me more then what she did. -Last minute alteration fixing the wrinkle in the dress under my breast-Very expensive: $50 just for that.

I had an exact idea in my mind of what I wanted for my wedding dress. I shopped around and heard "no" a lot. "we can't do that." We don't have that." Etc. I went to hem and her and Joyce was so open to my ideas and really listened to my vision. Within minutes she found me a dress I liked. I knew it would require work to make it a dress I loved. I started shopping for my dress a year in advance. So I had plenty of time. She did many alterations and when I had concerns she fixed them. In the end of it all I LOVED my dress. It's a good local business that I support and recommend. Give her time and be as specific as possible with what you want and you will receive it.

I can't speak more highly of Joyce and Marv! Took my son to get his suit fitted as he had lost a bit of weight since last year. They were so busy what with proms all over town this week. But they both made my son Feel special and gave us a great deal on a suit that fit my son way better then they could have fitted him into his old one. This is definitely a family owned and run. They thanked each customer that came in for supporting them and shopping local. I told Joyce I would love to have an ounce of her energy as she bopped from one fitting to doing alterations on existing orders to making my son feel special. Marv cracked jokes and educated my son on tying a tie, on history of pocket squares, to personally removing the tacks on the suit. Even though I know how busy they were, they accommodated us walking in to their shop without an appointment and made my son feel special and made him look so handsome! We walked in at 2:30 and came out an hour later with a new suit that Joyce personally hemmed in minutes. I saw reviews about their prices... I don't know what they are taking about! We had a new suit, fitted, a new shirt, tie and pocket square for $275! Amazing! Thank you Joyce and Marv!! Ps... they also have a garden that they grow in the back of their property that supports the hungry 100%! Got to love a local company that gives back!!

Joyce is a MIRACLE worker and truly an artist. I cannot recommend Hem and Her enough to truly give justice to Joyce's abilities and her passion. She was able to alter my mom's wedding dress for me to wear not once, but twice! I wanted to wear my mom's wedding gown, but the dress was in desperate need of an update and was much too small for me. Joyce completely rebuilt this dress! The gown itself is incredibly intricate with Italian lace and seed pearls detailing the entire bodice- not only did she match silk to the 30 year old existing fabric to add panels and resize it, but she was also was able to rework the detailing from the bodice and poofy 80's sleeves. The alterations are flawless, and you couldn't even tell that she had added about 8" to the dress! My wedding was then postponed due to Covid-19, and I lost enough weight that my dress no longer fit me. Again, Joyce worked her magic and resized the dress for a second time by 5.5". Once again, you couldn't even tell, and the detailing on the bodice was seamless. She's an artist and a true craftsman. If you have a sentimental gown and you want to feel the most beautiful you've ever felt, you're in good hands with Joyce. I've added photos of the finished masterpiece, before photos with me in the dressing room at Hem and Her, and photos of my mother in the original dress. Joyce, thank you for making me feel like Cinderella.

This place did an amazing job altering my wedding dress. I was able to go in and tell them everything that I wanted done to my dress and Joyce did them with care and precision. She spent hours removing and sewing back on the lace of my dress. I was easily able to make appointments and my dress was done several weeks before my wedding. I would highly recommend them.

Gross owners. Passive aggressive. Supremely overpriced. Seems like she might try on dresses. Someone needs to put them in their place
