This place is great! The food is excellent for a bar. The drinks are unbelievably cheap. The bartenders, bouncers, and waitresses are all very friendly. There are TV's everywhere, so it's a good place to watch a ballgame. I think this is one of the best all-around bars in Chico. It gets kind of crowded after 9:00pm, but that is to be expected since it's right in the heart of student housing. That being said, the late night partying there is alot of fun. This bar should be rated as a college bar for students on a budget. If you are looking for better drinks that are not watered-down, go elsewhere because there are much better places for good drinks. If you're looking to get drunk, being loud, and are ok with your feet sticking to the floor (because many drinks get spilled throughout the night), this bar is for you. read more

My favorite bar in Chico. The staff is awesome. Carlos is a very knowledgable bartender and gives awesome customer service. Prices are great. Atmosphere is awesome. Definitely a college bar, but when schools out its much more laid back. They won't let you drink and drive & will call you a cab if you need it. Security doesn't mess around with the underage so no worries of jail time, guys! The bouncer, Andrew removed a guy that was creeping on me & doesn't let anyone in who is too intoxicated. Lots of respect for this establishment, I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Chico. read more

I have been to Riley's for a couple years now and saint Patricks is always the best time to come and get in line early but the service that I get there on buck nights especially from Eric i think his name was amazing. With it being extremely busy from buck nights he still acknowledges everyone and the let's them know when they are next to order. Was there for a beer and some appetizers. When I paid with my credit card they took it away for an abnormal amount of time. Three days later someone tried to purchase some sneakers online with my card. Luckily the credit card company caught it. It's mediocre at best. read more

This bar constantly smells like a mixture of sweat and throw up. Although they do offer some great drink specials, it isn't worth swiping your card and seeing sneaky extra charges the next day on your account. Multiple times I have been at Riley's and myself or my friends credit card statement have come out overcharged, like the tip has been altered. Overall, I would not recommend this bar. read more

This bar is the epitome of Chico State. So many great memories and not-so-proud ones haha, but hey, it's a college bar and Riley's was always a good time. All these people giving Riley's lower stars were going there with far too high expectations - it's a super cheap college bar, don't expect a lot of classy actions here! Good old Riley's is always a place I will stop by for some Sierra Nevada Cystal Wheat or Pale Ale whenever I revisit my alma mater. Wildcats! read more

Drinks are cheap as hell. Never had a problem with service. Can be crowded but it's a college bar.

so, not gonna lie...it can be a total frat bar. but more importantly, it is a great bar. great people, usually great music, by far the cheapest drinks in town. the food is great too...good salads, burgers, and sandwiches to go with those pitchers! no matter what, i will always be a riley's girl!! read more

This past Sunday Riley's ran out of mimosas 40 mins prior to end time of the "bottomless mimosas" and because bar tender was filling up full cups, not champagne cups like I received, but instead full cups for her friends in the bar when I never even got a refill on my smaller glass. And if she didn't happen to say right in front of me and three other people "I'm not really allowed to fill this but .." then maybe you wouldn't have ran out and maybe I would have actually gotten my drinks and what I came for. Maybe you shouldn't do the things you "aren't allowed to do" at work then. Not to mention it took my friend an hour to receive her food after receiving mine an hour later as well even though we placed our order at the same time. And the kitchen was so slow they stopped letting orders be placed and our server even said "I'm so sorry for the wait I'm not sure if this was your order but it was the same meal so I grabbed it". Worst experience it truly makes me sad Riley's. Maybe you need those who aren't college students and friends to work on those shifts. Giving away free or more alcohol to others and taking others orders is not cool in my opinion lol. Used to love this place... read more

Can I give a negative star? First things first, this bar isn't my favorite to begin with. What really tipped the scale was my experience with the bartender working 10/25/17 at about 7PM. I was at the fundraising event for one of my close friends and decided to get a drink. My girlfriend, friend and I were waiting patiently at the (not busy) bar for about 15 minutes, watching the female (assumingly pregnant) bartender wait on other customers the entire time. I understand people have things to do and maybe we weren't seen, so we continued to wait patiently. However, when a customer pointed to us and asked her to wait on us before him, she looked us directly in the eyes, shook her head no, then proceeded to assist the man across the bar. He seemed very flustered and confused, but she seemed to not care at all. Needless to say, NONE of my friends or myself will ever be returning to this bar again. Such a shameful way to represent a place which should be fun and welcoming. read more
