Been here before and remember it being good but that was not the case this time. I wanted to like it but it was bad. The pizza was overly cheesed and little sauce which could be fine if the favor made up but it did not. Very flavorless, greasy, rubbery low quality cheese. Empanadas were old and not hot. Seems like the had been sitting out all day and barely reheated. Mushroom chicken empanada was so so but also very oily and looked old. Chicken empanada had good texture and not oily but so so. Flavor on fatay empanada probably the best one but also old and dried out. Overall I just can't say this place is what it used to be. I did come an hour before closing but the pizza was made fresh so I feel like no excuse on that one. Pictures included, you can judge what you think from that.

My partner brought me here to try this pizza and their empanadas and I was so impressed! The Napolitano was soooo delicious! Full of flavor, crispy and crunchy in the right spots, just perfect. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The empanadas were stuffed with meat as well! Thank you for blessing us with this majestic beautiful pizza! :') Ambiance was great, it was a little taste of Argentina, they sold items like Yerba Mate and the mug/mate setup for the Yerba Mate! Can't wait to come back !

My husband bought a dozen empanadas assorted to try. They are very filling and I was full after eating just two. My favorite ones were the cheese and onion, beef, and chicken and mushroom. There was a lot of options with olives since it is Argentinian style and they unfortunately are unable to make a batch without if you dislike olives as much as I do. The onion and cheese empanada was very simple but happened to be the only one that would make me come back to buy more. Since we bought a dozen, they gave us some complimentary croissant pastries which were good sweet treats but nothing to write home about. Overall, I enjoyed it and they have amazing dough that is baked to perfection!

First time customer with two questions for myself and the business. First question: what was I thinking not ever trying this place after half a dozen years here! Second question : do they have a punchcard for frequent flyer customers? This feels like the source code for all empanadas that have ever been made the mozzarella and onion as simple as it sounds was incredibly scrumptious, tender, and pliable dough with the most delicious mozzarella cheese. The spicy beef was exemplary. I look forward to eating here again. With a humble exterior, the inside was homey, classy and rustic with brick walls and lovely with a variety of other options and delicious looking desserts. To the side, there was a small mini store of Argentinian favorites along with a lovely painted portrait soccer's finest Messi.

I usually come here after driving family for eye doctor appointments next door. All their empanadas are good but the spicy beef, sweet beef, plain beef, and fatay are my favorites. Regular empanadas (spicy beef, sweet beef, beef,) are $2.50 each. Fatay is $3 each since it's a special empanada. The menu shows the specific empanada folds each flavor has to tell them apart. The spicy beef has a good heat to it with a large green olive, hard boiled egg, chopped bell peppers, jalapenos inside. The sweet empanada has alot of raisins, hard boiled egg, green olives, and chopped bell peppers inside it. The fatay has a slice of lemon along with it and it's noticeable if you use lemon juice on it that goes well with the parsley, onions, tomatoes, and red peppers. They do fill up the inside of the empanadas well and it's seasoned nicely. Staff is nice, the wait time was not long. Take out only though, they did expand their dining area.

The Empanadas are good and they have a variety. Actually, this is the only thing I've had on the menu but it's been numerous times.

Ask the Community - Rika's Empanadas

Do they automatically add tips to customers' bill?

Not my knowledge... and I have been going there for years!

Do they still offer their Empanadas in both Oven-baked and Deep-fried styles?

I believe they only do oven-baked. They are amazing!

What type of oil do you use for your pizza dough and sauce?

I believe they use oily oil.

Do thy take orders for takeout, I have a party and I thought I could serve empanadas for dinner. How much is an empanada? A doze?

Yes you can call in for take out...they charge extra for chimichurri though. A few months ago it was around $2.50 each or $25 for a dozen...rough estimate...you can call in and check pricing. Eat in price is a lot more expensive though

I cannot have anything battered and fried. * I asked my husband to ask if I can choose "grilled Fish Tacos". He didn't ask. I haven't eaten for two weeks. I'm finally hungry and I'm tired of a liquid IV diet. Sadly my husband didn't ask about grilling the fish. Not the shops fault.!!!! My tummy is a mess today ( husbands fault ) Yes they have grilled Fish Tacos too. Yay. Next time I will make sure I get grilled Fish Tacos. First time ordering the Friday fish special. 4 battered fish tacos. We're not fishy at all very mild tender and flaky. They were delicious. I was concerned they would be fishy after being sick for three weeks, but I enjoyed them so much and I cannot thank the cook enough. Delicious white fish tacos.. They were mild seasoned with white onion, cilantro, and a sauce it was truly delicious. Perfect amount for me. I saved two for dinner tonight. I highly recommend there Fish tacos. I do not like fishy fish nor the smell. These were delicious. I will be back on Fridays. My husband had the carne Asada tacos. They were delicious and packed with meat.. Taco Tuesday; We will be back soon! Delicious. Thank you for working so hard to create delicious, bang for the buck food.! This establishment will not disappoint. ! Enjoy.

Everything I've tired is fire but the top recommended item I'd say is their chicken flautas. I know flautas can easily be made at home but damn they make them pretty good here and im pretty impressed that something so simple can taste so good. I highly recommend and reasonably priced. Definitely coming back as I continue to and customer service is really good and friendly here. Its a small hole in the wall hidden but pretty comfortable and comfy seating in case you like to eat there. 5/5 fo sho!

It is good. It is the same price at the beef version but understandly so. The chicken meat was grilled tenderly, and the slice of ham it came with added the saltynesss the sandwich needed. Simple but effective. Also chilies adds great flavor too. You can ask for it on the side to adjust spiciness to your preference. Capicollo, one of the cold sandwich, was fine but nothing to write home about. Atlas or wings ($11.99/lb) here remind me of the ones I used to get when I was younger... I like how the spicy version is still deed fried and not saucy. (Personally prefer dry rubs.) The heat can creep up to u after a few. But not all wings are created equally, might end with with some tiny more battered ones along with regulars. Wait times can be longer during lunch times - waited 30 min for takeout during weekday lunch hour.

There's already food that is fried and ready to go when you come up to the counter apparently there's a process that it's lost on me. Got some cheese empanadas, chicken wings & French fries. What do that to me was the cheese and vanilla, very cheesy and savory! The fries on the other hand felt like that they were sitting there a bit, and I love fries so these kinda were a meh for me. It looks like a small cafeteria set up with the lunch lady at the counter, No muss, no fuss. Pretty good experience coz it was spent with Hubby and a very good friend. Along with that, we tried the mini corn dogs, a kids' hamburger, and a kids' steak dinner. However, there was a significant issue with my daughter's apple juice. Despite this unfortunate incident, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the manager, who handled the situation exceptionally well. I was pleasantly surprised when our entire bill was comped, showing a commitment to customer satisfaction. I appreciate their responsiveness and attention to this matter. I ordered the Angus ribeye steak. She ordered a baked potato. She also ordered a spike Shirley Temple. The food and drinks are amazingly delicious. I ate the two salads, steak and the rice pilaf. There was enough leftover to take home for the next day. Steak was cooked perfect, nothing like a ribeye cooked to perfection. If you are looking for a cheap meal, this is not the place for you. Service was quick and efficient. Totally professional, and the bartender was kind and considerate. I absolutely love coming to this place. It has been a staple in my life since childhood. Kudos for doing things, right! One recommendation would be to have your hostesses more involved when people walk in the door. They kind of just sat there talking and looking at their phones.

But it was more than the food; it was the service that made it so memorable. Our family had just arrived in Claremont for the first time; didn't know the area and were starving. Saw Inka Trails on Yelp and thought it looked good but it was about to close in 30 mins so we called to check if we could still make it. The lady who answered the phone was warm and welcoming, telling us to come on by. What followed was some of the most delicious food I've had, on par with Michelin-starred restaurants I have had the pleasured to dine at in Bangkok, San Sebastian, Paris...It was home cooking with the best ingredients - you can taste the freshness of the fish and vegetables and the fragrance of the herbs. Highly recommend the fish rice soup, the fried fish and fish stew in tomato broth. It was serious one of the best meals we have had. So the food was 5 stars, but what made me write this review was the owner Patty. She was warm and gracious. Asked us what brought us to Claremont and when we told her we were there to tour colleges, she was kind to share her insights on the school, experiences with the students, told us about safety and transits in the area. Remember this was all after the restaurant was already scheduled to be closed for the evening. We were never rushed and Patty was sincere and kind. As a frequent traveler and woman in business, I appreciate that. The experience was a highlight of our college visits and I hope to return to Inka Trails for another spectacular meal soon in the near future.

We were accommodated readily and had no wait time as a phone call a few days ahead had been made and remembered. Even though reservations are not taken, they were set up for us and ready to get the dinner party started. This is wonderfully thoughtful service. Once in, our waitress explained that she could do partial group checks for four. That was also a thoughtful way to handle a larger group. It would have been awkward for us to split all of the variety of items on the receipt amongst us, being that we ordered so many different dishes. And wow! Did we order a lot of dishes! That's part of the fun of coming to Viva Madrid: there's such a wide variety of tapas and/or entrees to share. The more we tried, the more we wanted to continue to try! From the pitchers of both red and white sangrias, tapas, entrées, and desserts, we really made our way around the menu. Our delectable dishes came out little by little. And that's rather important here, as those small plates have a sneaky way of filling you up, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. The pacing gave us an opportunity to enjoy each dish at a leisurely pace, while we chatted, laughed, and in general, got to enjoy the night in an unhurried and relaxed environment. Our plates were delicious! Such a variety of unique flavors that you wouldn't find in another kind of dining experience. Creamy, salty, aged, rich, spiced but not spicy, meaty, veggie, sautéed, simmered, roasted..... there's something here for every palate. Be open to the adventure! Our waitress and other staff that checked in on us were fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable - incredibly talented at keeping all the numbers and dishes straight - and attentive to each guest. Which again, is appreciated when part of a larger group. When you come here, be prepared to spend some time. Bring someone whose company you enjoy, then sit back, relax in the ambience of Spain, and be taken care of as if you'd been invited to dine in someone's home.
