Been here before and remember it being good but that was not the case this time. I wanted to like it but it was bad. The pizza was overly cheesed and little sauce which could be fine if the favor made up but it did not. Very flavorless, greasy, rubbery low quality cheese. Empanadas were old and not hot. Seems like the had been sitting out all day and barely reheated. Mushroom chicken empanada was so so but also very oily and looked old. Chicken empanada had good texture and not oily but so so. Flavor on fatay empanada probably the best one but also old and dried out. Overall I just can't say this place is what it used to be. I did come an hour before closing but the pizza was made fresh so I feel like no excuse on that one. Pictures included, you can judge what you think from that.
My partner brought me here to try this pizza and their empanadas and I was so impressed! The Napolitano was soooo delicious! Full of flavor, crispy and crunchy in the right spots, just perfect. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The empanadas were stuffed with meat as well! Thank you for blessing us with this majestic beautiful pizza! :') Ambiance was great, it was a little taste of Argentina, they sold items like Yerba Mate and the mug/mate setup for the Yerba Mate! Can't wait to come back !
My husband bought a dozen empanadas assorted to try. They are very filling and I was full after eating just two. My favorite ones were the cheese and onion, beef, and chicken and mushroom. There was a lot of options with olives since it is Argentinian style and they unfortunately are unable to make a batch without if you dislike olives as much as I do. The onion and cheese empanada was very simple but happened to be the only one that would make me come back to buy more. Since we bought a dozen, they gave us some complimentary croissant pastries which were good sweet treats but nothing to write home about. Overall, I enjoyed it and they have amazing dough that is baked to perfection!
First time customer with two questions for myself and the business. First question: what was I thinking not ever trying this place after half a dozen years here! Second question : do they have a punchcard for frequent flyer customers? This feels like the source code for all empanadas that have ever been made the mozzarella and onion as simple as it sounds was incredibly scrumptious, tender, and pliable dough with the most delicious mozzarella cheese. The spicy beef was exemplary. I look forward to eating here again. With a humble exterior, the inside was homey, classy and rustic with brick walls and lovely with a variety of other options and delicious looking desserts. To the side, there was a small mini store of Argentinian favorites along with a lovely painted portrait soccer's finest Messi.
I usually come here after driving family for eye doctor appointments next door. All their empanadas are good but the spicy beef, sweet beef, plain beef, and fatay are my favorites. Regular empanadas (spicy beef, sweet beef, beef,) are $2.50 each. Fatay is $3 each since it's a special empanada. The menu shows the specific empanada folds each flavor has to tell them apart. The spicy beef has a good heat to it with a large green olive, hard boiled egg, chopped bell peppers, jalapenos inside. The sweet empanada has alot of raisins, hard boiled egg, green olives, and chopped bell peppers inside it. The fatay has a slice of lemon along with it and it's noticeable if you use lemon juice on it that goes well with the parsley, onions, tomatoes, and red peppers. They do fill up the inside of the empanadas well and it's seasoned nicely. Staff is nice, the wait time was not long. Take out only though, they did expand their dining area.
So much options for empanadas! I came here during lunch on a Wednesday, there a light line of 4 people in-front of me. They got busy during lunch hours, but the line moves quick fast. There's also a shelve of Argentinean treats like cookies, herbs, jams, and what draws my attention was the variety of the yerba mates. Back to the empanadas, it's interestingly good that they have different shape for different flavor. So smart! I tried the ham and cheese, which is soo good and cheesy. I also tried the bacon and prunes. Such an interesting and delicious combination. It's savory and sweet at the same time.
I have been on a hunt for authentic empanadas that replicated the ones i remember eating in high school from a friend's mom who was from Chile. I was recommended to try these from a babysitter of my neighbor and I was impressed. They have a large variety of flavors and they're not deep fried, but baked instead. They are larger and taste better than Nonna's empanadas. Rika's also sells desserts like sweet rolls and cakes. Their sweet rolls are delicious, freshly baked, and you really can't just eat one. They're perfect for parties, birthdays and other events. They sell Argentinian pizzas and a selection of teas and coffees too. I bought a big bag of Yerba mate tea bags. When I last came here indoor dining was closed. Parking is free in a shopping plaza. Service is very friendly.
Delicious Argentinian Empanadas. They offer a variety of oven baked empanadas. I tried three different flavors and I was very satisfied with each of the flavors. I also had a cup of delicious coffee. The restaurant is very clean with a large seating area. The staff was very friendly. Definitely will be coming back.
We all have our comfort foods and this here is mine. Rikas empanadas have that home cooked flavor and that delicious baked smell. Reminds me of walking into my Abuelita's kitchen back in the day:) Adding a bit of Chimichurri sauce over an empanada enriches the taste of every bite. Sauce isn't included with empanadas but they do sell separately, you just have to ask for it. It's always a pleasure walking in and greeting the staff, service here is always great in person and over the phone. They exceed 5 stars, so Yes, I highly recommend. They do adhere to face mask and CDC guidelines due to Covid-19. Orders placed are take out only. Supporting my local favorite spots during these hard times.
The empanadas here are great! You can also buy them uncooked and cook them at home. Really good pastries, too. Why four stars instead of five? Their hours. I went in at about 1:15 today and they said the kitchen was closed for an hour. Only open for take out. I was so hungry and really wanted to sit down and have a couple of their empanadas or maybe a sandwich. Left unhappy and went next door to Silver Spoon (mistake!) Disappointed for sure. Seemed like this happened to my husband and me here once before. Might want to call before you make the trip over to be sure they are serving.

A true gem and local establishment. These empanadas were fantastic! Splitting a dozen empanadas for $25 is the best deal.. otherwise each empanada will run you about $2.50. There is a wonderful variety of chicken, beef, and cheese empanadas. I was surprised.. but the cheese empanadas were my favorite... I haven't had the opportunity to have blue cheese melted in a soft flaky pastry.. but it tasted great! The meat empanadas can also hold their own.. they are super flavorful and colored with onions, peppers, and olives. Each empanada is very filling.. I truly was filled after 3. I will definitely come back to this place. They have a small restaurant area and a very small market as well with South American cookies and sodas. read more

I had an urge for empanadas. I fulfilled that urge by making a trip to Glendora and give Rika's a try. I was not disappointed. Once I stepped up to the counter I was made comfortable asking any questions. After some discussion on what there empanadas were about I chose the Spicy Beef and the Chicken & Mushroom. Both were just excellent ! I will not hesitate going back to Rika's again. You should give them a try ! read more
A couple weeks ago I went to try this spot. Their menu consists mainly of pizza and empanadas. We tried 5 types of empanadas and they were all delicious! I would say they have about a dozen different kinds. Highly recommend. read more

Mom and me day, she wanted empanadas ,so here we are Rika's...we ordered 2 spicy beef ,2 chicken and mushroom empanadas and a mildness sandwich....It smells so good in here, the oven is going on , it's clean in here all the way to the bathroom, this place is cozy.....just got my food, it smells AMAZING!!! The empanadas taste delicious and so does my gigantic mildness sandwich. Somebody here cared to make this food...Thank you Rikas!! See you next time!! read more

Parking: great parking and it's free. No valet parking. Staff: Super friendly Empanadas: Overall I felt that their empanadas have a great base but could be a little more juicer. It would have been nice if a dipping sauce was includes or any type of salsa (especially after spending more than 40 bucks). Chicken - good flavor but a bit dry. Sweet Beef - good flavor. Spinach - meh it was ok, missing flavor. Eggplant - needed more flavor Desserts Tiramisu - super yummy, would buy again. Tres leches pineapple cake - good I would totally come back for the tiramisu! read more

I came here with my grandparents, because they wanted empanadas this place came up and we decided to go. My first impression was good the place looked very well put together and we were attended quickly. The interior was very nice it had a small pizza shop vibe too it. Being that they sell pizza it seems appropriate. We ordered an assortment of empanadas chicken, beef, spinach, ham and cheese, and eggplant. As well as the empanadas we ordered a calzone. It was about a 20 min wait which was pretty good considering the amount of food we ordered, there was 7 of us. The first thing I tried was the beef empanada which had some flavor but wasn't what I was thinking of when I thought of a beef empanada. It was flavorful but the outside was not fried and it was a bit dry. The calzone was large about the size of a pizza and it was the best thing we ordered. It had fresh tomatoes and the bread was cooked perfectly. Overall the food was alright there wasn't anything that stood out to me. service is 5 stars they attended us quickly and food was out 15 min after ordering. Waiter was very nice as well The food is 2 stars although it wasn't bad it also wasn't good. Nothing was exceptional. Cleanliness is 3 everything seemed very clean, but the restroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned for at least a couple of hours. read more

I was really hungry and didn't want to do a sit-down restaurant. I was also in a hurry for a meeting and decided to drop by Rikas for their Empanadas. Last time I went I guess I wasn't used to the taste but this time around I really enjoyed the food! I would recommend trying one of each. Be sure to order a dozen even if you don't want that many. Its more experiensive if you buy a few. I made a mistake of buying 8 for $22 when it would cost $24 for 12 pieces lol. read more

Finally! I've had this bookmarked for a while. My daughter and I came early in the morning. They serve pizza, savory/sweet crepes, salad, sandwiches, pastry, desserts, and empanadas. The restaurant is clean and spacious. I was looking forward to trying the empanadas! ::Food:: We ate the Beef Empanadas at the restaurant; it was freshly baked. The Beef Empanada has ground beef, onions, bell peppers, hard boiled eggs and green olives. I wasn't a fan of the green olive and hard-boiled egg. I also ordered some pre-cooked empanadas to take home. We choose the Spicy Beef, Chicken Mushrooms, Ham & Cheese, and Caprese. From all the empanadas, I liked the Ham & Cheese which has slices of ham and mozzarella cheese. ::Desserts:: I got a big slice of their Bread Pudding. It was cold and had raisins. I prefer my Bread Pudding warm and without raisins. The Strawberry Cake had alcohol in it (I think, it tasted like it). The cake very moist. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy both of the desserts. ::Customer Service:: The gentleman who helped us was very helpful. He answered all my questions and was very nice. The empanadas were delicious ! We got a beef, spicy beef and spinach one and they were excellently seasoned and packed with flavor! We also got the milenesa sandwich and it was huge ! It was cooked perfectly but it felt like it was missing something ...My husband thought the place was good but he is still a loyal fan to his Tito's market.... but this place is a good back up for us when we're in the mood for some empanadas. read more
after quite a long time...finally back again. This time I ordered a dozen special empanadas, Blue cheese, Bacon & Prunes, Chicken Mushroom, Ricotta Cheese and Spinach, Fatay and Chopped Beef, 2 each. I am very impressed about their special empanadas than regular ones. My top four favorites are Bacon & Prunes, Chicken Mushroom, Fatay and Chopped Beef. The must try are Fatay and Bacon & Prunes. The mixture of bacon and prune, savoy and sweet were so good. If you are not big fan of Blue Cheese...avoid this one..way too strong the blue cheese for my liking. Ricotta Cheese and spinach too!!! If you are not big fan of ricotta cheese...skip this one as well. for Pizza, we had #10 Muzarella y Morrones, mozzarella cheese, roasted peppers and olives. It was suggested by the waitress that it's one of their popular item. However the pizza has way more cheese on it so I did not like it much. Roasted pepper were delicious but the whole pizza was made of just peppers and olives was slightly too plain for my liking. Found an Argentina diamond in Glendora? Fatay fatay fatay is all my brother could say.. I thought he kept saying fat lady...fat lady.... I asked him, "What's wrong with you? Why you keep saying that? But come to find out, he ordered a fatay empanada for me. Sooo...my hearing is a little off. The unique, spices / sauces that were in that delicious fatay. Still hungry I enjoyed the spicy beef empanada cooked to perfection with an array of various peppers. The next day, I returned with friends, I got a steak sandwich on an extremely fresh roll With lettuce so fresh, I thought they just picked it. The steak was light and tasty. My friend shared his dessert. It had caramel on top of it with whip cream and a cherry on top, to which I kindly devoured. My brother shared his ham and cheese empanada, which is smothered with an astounding abundance of heavily melted cheese. Family run business with impeccable kind sincere service where you can see that they definitly take pleasure and pride in their food creations that they serve. This is my first time trying empanadas made Argentinian style. They were pretty good especially when they are nice and hot right out of the oven! The restaurant is a store and takeout as well. Plenty of parking, pretty easy to find. As a first timer, I only had the meat ones. To me they seem to need a dipping sauce. It was a little on the dry side but tasty. My family was crazy about them and come often. I feel they are a little pricey but good. I would like to try other options and eat here next time. I'd also like to try mate too! It's nothing too weird, just some pastry dough filled with savory filling. They are fairly small so you may need o order about 2 or 3 to be satisfied. Their regular flavor empanadas are $1.79 each or $17.99 dozen. You can choose from spicy beef, sweet beef, chicken, ham & cheese, cheese & onions, and tuna. Special flavor empanadas include blue cheese, bacon & prunes, chicken & mushrooms, ricotta cheese & spinach, fatay, chopped beef, and caprese. These are $1.99 each or $19.99 dozen. You can get 3 regular flavor empanadas and a 16 oz. drink for $6.50 (combo 1) or get 2 regular flavor empanadas + 1 pizza slice + 16 oz. drink for $6.99 (combo 2). They also have crepes (savory and sweet), pizza, pizza subs, calzones, and pastry items. My wife and I liked the chicken & mushroom and spicy beef empanadas the best. We also tried onion & cheese and breakfast empanadas (eggs & sausage). They were pretty good as well. The pastry dough was baked to a nice flaky texture. I would like to try these fried next time if that's an option. We didn't care for the spinach crepe. It was way too much cheese and the texture of the crepe was a bit dry. Tucked away in Glendora just South of Foothill Blvd. is an empanada and pizza place that pumps out all sorts of pastries and goodies Argentine style. We did a quick Yelp search and happened upon the spot after watching the CA Amgen Tour go through the area and stopped in to grab a drink and a quick bite. We ran into some acquaintances while stopping in who love the spot and said the crepes, cookies, and empanadas here are really good. Everything is fairly reasonably priced as well. We tried a few of the empanadas and they were pretty good, we even placed a second order to get a few to take home. The empanadas are baked not fried and they are all par baked so they just finish them off in the oven and they are ready within 5 minutes or so. Their pastries looked delectable, many of them made with quince or dulce de leche. They house make everything which is nice. Favorite Empanadas Listed in order from most to least favorite: Fatay 4.5 stars (Arabian Empanada) Probably my favorite out of what I tried. ground beef, tomatoes, red peppers, onions, lemon juice, parsley served with a lemon wedge Bacon & Prunes 4 stars Very rich flavors of bacon, prunes, onions and mozzarella cheese Sweet Beef 3.5 stars ground beef, onions, bell peppers, hard boiled eggs, green olives, raisins Ricotta Cheese & Spinach 3.5 stars Rich flavors. This is heavy on the ricotta, it also has a few surprise ingredients like onions, ham, hard boiled egg and parmesan Chicken Mushrooms 2.5 stars chicken, mushrooms, green onions, creamy white sauce, almonds, too salty for my taste All in all a nice clean establishment with plenty of seating, worth a stop if you are in the area, especially if you are a fan of Argentine food. read more

A super friendly place with impossibly tasty empanadas! I know I can't frequent this place as much as I would like to, because just after a couple of weeks I'll gain 10 pounds! The restaurant is run by an Argentinian family, and they know how to cook! My personal favorite are: * blue cheese * bacon & prunes - try it!!! * ricotta cheese & spinach I hear their crapes and pizzas are pretty awesome as well, but I just can't cheat on empanadas : ) read more
Very nice establishment. They added a nice sized dinning area awhile ago. You cannot imagine how great looking inside from outside. In the AM, the crepes and empanadas are the main things. There are nice pastries and croissants were very tasty. Their crepes are very big so you get full! I like their savory crepes. My favorite is curry Crepe. It's not strong curry taste but it has a hint of curry flavor with cream sauce. Empanadas are all good!! I like their chicken empanadas the best. Pizzas are available from 11am. Overall, their food is all great! Only drawback is they kept taking dishes away. Almost like they want you to leave quickly once you finish eating. Here at Riki's right now. I've ordered the Milanesa tonight. They have the best savory crepes filled to overflow - choice of spinach or ham or shrimp! The empanadas are tasty & so fresh! The management- the nicest Argentinians around! We love the food... there's more - pizza and a heavenly array of desserts - cakes and Argentine specials. read more
Great little local place to get Empanadas. I got the beef, caprese, and corn empanadas. All were very good. The beef empanada was an expected tad salty, but that came from the green olives. Otherwise, it was good. The caprese had the right amount of cheese and ham. All the ingredients worked well together without one ingredient overpowering the rest. My favorite though was the corn. It had a nice creamy white sauce with the right amount of corn inside. Also, The Parmesan cheese they used did not make the empanada too rich tasting. For dessert, I got the alfajores de maicena which was delicious!!! I can't wait to go and try their dessert crepes, pizzas and other empanadas. read more

I found Rikas on yelp and upon reading some reviews I was excited to try the found. I love empanadas specially from south America. Rikas has about 8-10 different empandas you can order from. We ordered one of each, a pepperoni pizza, and a milnesa sandwich and a skirt steak sandwich. What I didn't know is that argentine food has a Italian influence and pizza is quite popular out there. All the empanadas are oven baked and were really fresh! Like fresh out the oven my wife bit into the cheese empanada and got served! LOL There were extremely crispy and well-made I enjoyed the spicy beef empanada. I think it would benefit Rikas to offer at least one empanada deep fried, although a less healthy choice, deep fried argentine empanadas are out of this world. The milanesa sandwich was a huge portion and it was well cooked. The breading was distributed evenly and not greasy at all. I would highly recommend. We ended up purchasing some pastries to go! We ended up spending about $100 for 4 people alittle on the expensive side but delicious nonetheless. read more

Sorry but not thank you . Every single item I bought was burnt from the bottom . I don't wanna taste burnt food. And flan was terrible !!!!! When you bite it it's so watery no sweetness to it and the bottom of as burnt , the custard had no texture to it because or was over cooked . read more

Yes you can call in for take out...they charge extra for chimichurri though. A few months ago it was around $2.50 each or $25 for a dozen...rough estimate...you can call in and check pricing. Eat in price is a lot more expensive though
