My family and I have been going to Ridpath's for several years. However after my last visit, I don't think we will be back. I took my car to their shop for an "easy" fix I know there are no easy fixes with cars) but when I got the car back after they charged over $1,000, I found out from a friend who is a mechanic that the job should have been less that $100. THE BEST service! Extremely honest and helpful!!! I had leased a Hyundai Tucson and immediately began having an issue with it pulling to the right. I took it to 2 Hyundai dealerships explaining the problem and leaving frustrated with the same problem. I decided to see if Ridpath could figure out why the car was STILL pulling to the right even after the dealership "aligned" it 2 different times. M. Ridpath found the problem within a few minutes of driving it. The dealership had the wrong size tire on the drivers side!! M. Ridpath called me to let me know what the problem was as well as giving me excellent advice on how to handle the situation when calling the dealership. There's a reason this place has all 5 star reviews!! I found Ridpath auto on Yelp after having unsuccessful service with Armen Chevrolet, Your Mechanic and another local garage. My service engine light kept coming on and off and none of the mentioned shops were able to determine what was going on. My SUV was not driving right and it was worrisome that I couldn't reliably get it repaired or diagnosed for that matter. From the moment I called Ridpath auto I knew that this shop was different. The owner, Michael was extremely knowledgeable and genuinely wanted to get to the bottom of the issues. He did so in a way that was thorough, logical and cost conscious. He was excellent with communicating and I'm really happy that I found a mechanic shop that is trustworthy, reliable and reasonable in pricing. Super professional knowledgable folks here! I'm talking professional from the first phone call inquiring about the services they offer and their location until the time I drove away!! Had a slow leak that I mistakenly thought was a flat. Told the hubby I was calling roadside assistance. He said take it to a tire shop. I googled tire shop and a few popped up. This one had 5 stars and was 5 minutes away so I went for it. I pulled up, was greeted with a smile, and they took a look a my car, showed me what was wrong with my tire and I was outta there in no time! I even made it to work on time! Yippee! He even gave me some pointers on my tires and explained how they work when low on air. Knowledgeable, professional service from really nice guys. Highly recommended. I will be returning. Oh, how I miss Ridpath :( Don't worry, they're still there - I'm not. I was pleased with my move in general, but my one regret is leaving behind one of the only trustworthy car repair shops I've ever encountered, and I'd like to make a few observations about Ridpath, if I may: Ridpath is a small family business with very professional service and employees who have a consistently friendly and polite demeanor. I took my car there for anything it needed for about two years. They never tried to push any extraneous services on me, I never once felt pressured, and they were always happy to provide me with detailed, realistic (i.e. they did not catastrophize) answers to any questions I had. The mechanics there clearly have a genuine passion for cars, which shows in their work. In the times my (rather elderly) car needed service, they were always able to identify the problem quickly and accurately and fix it up for a reasonable price. This is *not* one of those places where the problem always "happens" to be the most expensive repair it could have been (you know the ones I mean). Another point worth mentioning is that Ridpath has a loyal customer base. This much is obvious from the familiarity with which the mechanics interact with their customers, most of whom seem to have been coming to the shop for many many years (and more often than not seem to have a fair bit of mechanical know-how themselves). That sort of loyalty - especially from people who are familiar with the trade - tends to have a reason, and my own experience with Ridpath further supports this impression. I knew I would miss Ridpath when I left. Now, trying to find another honest mechanic in my new area, I am reminded of how difficult it is to find a mechanic whom you can trust. So, I thought I'd throw in my two cents for the sake of anyone searching for a competent, trustworthy mechanic near Aston or Springfield, Pennsylvania, as I once was. Must echo the reviews I've seen in here. Full on 5 star Outstanding service. Michael's shop is definitely a gem in the service industry in delco!! That's the short version here's the TL:DR version.... on my day off running errands the tire pressure sensor goes off in my Ford. Get out... check, yup there's a giant screw in my left front tire. (((£U€k$)))....don't need this today.... Got air at a local gas station for a dollar to keep me moving ... thanks for the 4 quarters :/ Went on Yelp to look up tire repair shops close by...... Wow. Here's one with glowing 5 stars...... that's unusual.... hmmm it's only 2 miles away....let me go try it, Everything other commenters have said is true. Michael was the utmost professional and took care of me immediately despite the shop being completely full of work. He had my tire plugged and had me on my way in under 20 minutes. I will absolutely go back again based on the excellent customer service and a quick conversation with another person who was picking up his vehicle. His words were "I don't go anywhere else".....
