They sell some quality bags that you can use for the beach or possibly every day if you would like. Or if you don't want bags, they have awesome hats you can buy and use to keep the sun out of your eyes when you're doing yard work or possibly watching your significant other work outside.. whichever you prefer! Our over the stove microwave decided to croak requiring a replacement. I started my normal…read moreappliance replacement procedure by going online, looking up brand and model, checking out whether it was still being made, whether to repair it or replace it, how was it originally rated, what new models might be better etc. etc. I then thought about my "old way" of shopping the big box stores using this information to find, purchase, haul, install and recycle the old one. Yikes! Yes... I had done that in the past! Now ...Nope; that's waay too much time and effort for my 82 year old body! I had heard good things about Smetzers Appliance store from "word of mouth" - I looked up their website, found they handled my brand and gave them a call. Hollace(sp) answered the phone and asked if he could help me. I explained I needed a new Microwave and what I had done prior to calling him. He gave me the entire history of my particular make and model of Microwave, that it was a good unit, they had had good success with that model and a replacement of that model was available. My wife was on the call with me and she asked if the replacement model had this or that feature on it instead of what was on our old one. Hollace patiently and very clearly explained the "features" differences between 3 different new models of "our unit" along with the various "color differences of the stainless steel choices" since our entire kitchen was of one style of stainless. She told Hollace he was a "good salesman! I asked about whether the unit we eventually selected was in stock, installation fees, set up date, time, and delivery, as well as removal and recycle of our old unit. Hollace checked yes to every box and/or answered every question of ours very professionally. I said do you take plastic? He said yes! So ... researched, investigated, selected, bought and scheduled for delivery in 10 minutes! Awesome! Fast forward to delivery and install (in less than a week's time.) Isaac and Brad delivered and professionally installed our new "replacement" microwave unit. They were great! even noticing our "cabinet door 'fit' above the microwave" was slightly "off" and adjusted it to perfection! Thanks so much guys! IMHO - One could not find a better business than Smetzers to buy or service your appliances.

The folks at Smetzer we're able to step in where another local provider significantly dropped the ball and run with it. They didn't disappoint! They arrived as scheduled, followed the communications instructions requests, and did their jobs as expected. When the appliance proved to be a challenging repair, Bob went well above and beyond and did the legwork (and consultation of the old old old manuals) to persevere. As he said, 'I'm gonna fix this thing cuz I know I can.' The customer service was exemplary and the cost of the repair was nearly 35% LESS than 'Mr. I can't fix your appliance' If you're in the Norwalk area and you need an appliance repair, you would be wise to select Smetzer. What began as a straightforward replacement project--one that reasonably should have cost in the…read morerange of $15,000--has turned into an extremely disappointing and costly experience. Not only did the project escalate to just under $23,000 with the original contractor, but due to ongoing issues and incomplete or unsatisfactory work, we were forced to hire additional contractors, bringing the total cost to $30,000 plus. Throughout the process, there was a clear lack of transparency in pricing, poor project management, and a failure to set realistic expectations. Costs continued to rise without adequate explanation or justification, leaving us feeling misled and frustrated. Even more concerning was the quality and completeness of the work, which ultimately did not meet acceptable standards and required further intervention at our own expense. The one leading the project had no business in doing so. She was consistently rude, unprofessional, and showed a clear lack of understanding of what she was doing. After numerous conversations and items missed during the quote and/or left out and then overcharges for her mistake, instead of providing guidance or solutions, interactions were frustrating and unproductive, which only made an already bad situation worse. There was no competence or accountability, just further confusion and poor communication. A project of this scale should be handled with professionalism, clear communication, and accountability. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short on all fronts. What should have been a manageable replacement project turned into a prolonged, stressful, and unnecessarily expensive ordeal and anyone who has viewed our replacement their jaws have dropped. It's embarrassing to say the least. I will leave you with this, the owner Jim, who was wonderful and who we spoke to (finally towards the end) offered to tear it down and replace after all was said and done, but unfortunately, he was getting ready to retire and he had nothing to do with the initial scope and project and were afraid it might be even worse so we chose to go with another contractor. For him to say that - - you know it's bad... I would like to start all over and never use them but obviously that is not an option at this point. I would strongly urge others to please proceed with caution and ensure all details are in writing, timelines, and costs are explicitly outlined and adhered to before committing.

G & L picked up our John Deere lawn mover for repairs. When they picked up the lawn mower, my…read morehusband told them he thought it was an issue with the fuel pump, as he no longer heard it pumping the fuel. We agreed that if they could repair it for $300 or less, we would approve the repairs. They had the lawn mower for about 2 weeks. During that time, they managed to break out one of the tail lights, but did agree to forego the $47 pick up/delivery charge to compensate, which we agreed to, but this still left us having to order a new tail light and performing the labor to install. When they delivered the lawn mover back to us, they explained that they checked the fuel pump and it was working fine. They said they replaced two coils and cleaned the bushings - billing us approx. $300 (how convenient that their bill was just about the max we agreed to pay to repair our lawnmower). They indicated that the carburetor would need to be replaced, but that the lawn mower does run now. When we called them for service, the lawn mower would start and would run for about 15 minutes at a time. When they returned it, it wouldn't even start. My husband disputed their work only to have the delivery driver argue and insult him. Upon pulling out of our driveway to leave, he peeled out and laid on his horn all the way down our driveway and continued doing so down our street - HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!! My husband spent the next afternoon trying to troubleshoot it himself. He took off the fender to get to the fuel pump to check it out and found dried grass on all the bolts - which proved they did not even check the fuel pump - if they had, the dried grass would've been knocked off the bolts. We found that the fuel pump WAS actually the problem and ordered the part online. We further tested the carburetor (which they told us needed to be replaced) and found that it was working perfectly fine. This company is a complete rip-off. DO NO USE THEM!!!!!
