It's the only hardware store in town, but they don't act that way. The selection merchandise is always high quality and they usually have what I need. I've also had equipment repaired here and it's been such a great experience. Mike, the mechanic, was super helpful recently when I had my chainsaw repaired here. He even took me outside and did a refresher on how to run it efficiently and effectively. You just don't get that kind of service anywhere else. And I appreciate that. However, when I went inside to retrieve my item, although I had my order and confirmation with me, they refused to release my order to me because I did not show them photo id. After working in the yard all day, I didn't have my wallet with me. The email they sent did not indicate it required photo id. The representative argued with me and told me "it says it somewhere on the website!" How disappointing to go to a local hardware store, where you want to be able to trust employee's opinions, yet they cannot apply common sense to a situation. Who else would have my order or confirmation number? Isn't that the whole point? Strict adherence to policies that are not clearly set forth ANYWHERE, particularly when it is not in the email that says "come get your order!" and provides a CONFIRMATION NUMBER, makes me doubt the common sense of the employee and the people telling him what to do. What a waste of my time! Next time I will just go to Lowe's where they will bring it outside to me, like everyone else is willing to do when you order online (WITHOUT ASKING ME FOR MY PHOTO ID!).
