I was happy to purchase my saw from a local dealer and the sale went smoothly, staff seems knowledgeable. Bought a Stihl 291 saw and I noticed that the chain brake was more difficult to operate than other saws that I've used previously. It only engaged when I operated it from the one side near the lever...it was probably too tight as purchased. The plastic brake broke soon after purchase for this reason. When I brought it in for repair I assumed that the guys could fix it in a few days and get it back to me. What they didn't tell me when I dropped it off is that they are looking at 3 week turnaround time. I would understand that if they told me...but honestly my saw would probably take them 10 min to fix. After not hearing anything for almost two weeks I called to check in and that's when I found out they are 3 weeks out. Hoping that they may be able to bump my job up since it should be super quick and easy to fix (and the saw should have been working properly when I bought it, right?) I mentioned I could really use it back. I was then informed that my part hadn't even come in yet. I was just hoping that I could have put my saw back to work a little quicker but it looks like I'll have to miss another weekend opportunity to cut. Nothing I've experienced yet inclines me to rate better than 3 stars although I've heard and expected better. If the customer service improves I'll be happy to update this review.
